Can you reach the 4.0+ level with a light racquet?

I recently won a tournament, as a 4.5 (7.5 UTR), with a ProKennex KI Q+ 30 (119 square inches, 260 grams). You can play with anything, at pretty much any level.

    Best control in 100+

Thanks, I'll have to give the Gravity another demo. Is the 2023 an improvement over the prior version?

    Best control in 100+

What do you think is the 100 square inch (or larger) racquet with the best control? Two 18x20s come to mind: Speed Pro and Prince Tour 100P, as well as the 18x19 Percept 100D. Is there any other obvious choice?

Like Yonex VCORE 95, but 100 sq in

I'll give this one a shot again. I actually really liked the G360+ version, but have tried to avoid 18M racquets. Thanks, I'll give these a go as well. The previous generation six.one 100 felt a little underpowered for me, and didn't quite have that crisp feel.

Like Yonex VCORE 95, but 100 sq in

I really like the feel, accuracy, launch angle, level of power, and almost everything else of the vcore 95. But for my two-handed backhand, and when I'm on the defensive, I like having those 5 extra inches. Which 100 square inch racquet would come the closest? VCore 100 EZone 100 Percept 100...

Lack of an extended length, feel and comfort oriented racquet in the market.

That was going to be my recommendation as well. What an amazing XL racquet, and the fact that it's one of the most arm-friendly racquets out there is just a bonus.

    Wilson Steam 99s and 105s

Loved both, but the 105 eats through strings like crazy. If you string your own, I felt the 105 was better -- incredible spin (but, of course, control really suffers).

    "Spin" Racquets

Just curious what makes the Pure Aero more of a "spin" racquet than a Pure Drive? Or the VCORE100 vs EZONE 100? Or the SX300 vs FX500? If the weights are the same, the string patterns are the same (or almost the same), is it really the slightly different gromments? Does the aerodynamic shape of...

Best Control in 100 Square Inches?

I've been playing with the Speed Pro (Graphene Touch version) and really love the ability to swing away the racquet offers. Before I pick up a couple more, is there anything else out there that's a better option? 100 square inches, lots of control, swing away without worrying about overhitting...

    ProKennex Ki Q+ 15 Pro (305g) Thoughts

Has anybody tried this racquet and willing to share your thoughts? I just noticed it available at TW Europe and it checks a lot of boxes for me. I'm a fan of "Players/Tweener OS" racquets -- POGOS, Blade 104, Gravity S, Clash 108 (with some lead/leather). This PK, at 305g, is heavier than most...

    Prince Official - Racquets

I think Prince has a great story if she doesn't sign. "When players have a choice of racquets, they choose Prince to win championships. Of course, while we invest in technology, others promote players and give them racquets unavailable to the general public. But we'll focus on developing the...

    Spiritual Successor to Juice 100s?

The Pure Aero is certainly an option -- demoes that a few times, and while the spin is great, it feels a bit clunky to me. I've tried some OS 16x19 (Textreme Warrior, Clash 108, Blade 104) and while I like them both quite a bit, they are not the spin monsters that the Juice 100s is. The Extreme...

    Spiritual Successor to Juice 100s?

I have a fairly severe western grip and love the spin I get with the Steam 105s and the Juice 100s, especially the latter. With a bit of lead tape, I am at 335 grams strung on my Juice. Is there anything new on the horizon with similar characteristics (i.e. decent weight, high stiffness...

Are there any intermediate/high level players that use light racquets?

Is this the Steam 105s? If so, I love the spin you get with that racquet, but the string job lasts me less than 2 hours, and I don't even hit that big.

Are there any intermediate/high level players that use light racquets?

If you look at the specs of WTA players (I don't have it handy, but you can do a search), there are plenty who use very light racquets. They may not be in the top 10 (although Radwanska's racquet is lighter than basically everyone on this board), but they are certainly better than most 4.5 USTA...

Prince Textreme Tour O3 100 (310) vs Wilson Clash 100 Pro

Thanks so much, that was a helpful review. Appreciate your feedback -- have you tried the O3 version? I am a little unsure about the 8 strings in the middle -- have generally preferred 6 for my heavy topspin game.

Prince Textreme Tour O3 100 (310) vs Wilson Clash 100 Pro

Has anybody compared these two racquets? The specs are roughly similar, but I can't find much feedback on the O3 version of the Prince. I love the solid feel of the Textremes, but have enjoyed the ported versions of their racquets in the past. I also really like the unique feel of the Clash...

Current Raquet Equivalent to Wilson Pro Staff 6 85

I was going to suggest that 97S, but thought I'd be laughed off the forum. But I agree entirely -- it has that stiffer, solid box-beam feel, and a very satisfying feel on impact.

    Prince Official - Racquets

My Textreme Warrior OS comes in at 11.9 and around 330, without too much modding required -- basically, exactly what you described (leather, and a couple Tourna lead power strips). An awesome racquet, and I expect the Phantom 107 to be more of the same.

My Pro Staff 97S (2017) is discontinued - what would you recommend pairing it with?

I haven't found anything like it, but the Prince Phantom Pro 100P is somewhat similar. But I'd pick up another 97s -- it's an incredible racquet, and plenty of new ones are still floating around.
