The Tennis Warehouse 6 pack is nice, and you can't beat the price.

    Which Racquets Should I Demo?

Babolat Pure Strike, Wilson Blade, Head Speed and Yonex Tour F 97

    Good light racquet for OHB?

I play with a 2hbh, but hit tons of 1hbh off my ball machine. My Yonex Vcore XI 100 hits 1hbh great. So the SI 100 probably would too. It won't crush the ball like the Tour G 330 did when I demoed it, but you can hit nice deep topspin rally balls no problem. All the Vcore racquets are very...

Transition from spin to control stick

The standard 98 Pure Controls are much lighter than the 95. Increase spin by swinging faster. The Pure Strike racquets are great and might be what you are needing.

    MacEnroe

I work 3rd shift and am very tired. Brain farts happen.

    MacEnroe

Roddick must have been getting in his head. Looks like he is using overgrips now too instead of going with the naked leather.

Leather grip for sharp feel on bevels?

Babolat, Tecnifibre and Head have all worked well for me. I think the Tecnifibre is my favorite, but the differences are minimal.

    MacEnroe

I was watching Powershares from Minneapolis this morning on Tennis Channel. MacEnroe had a new paint job on his Dunlops. Kind of a Beige and Red combo. New Max 200g line incoming?

    Racquet weight, physically strong intermediates

Light racquets with forgiving head sizes and string patterns let you get away with bad technique. You might get better results in the short term, but tear your body up in the long run. If you have advanced technique you can use anything. I have an issue on serve, where if the racquet...

    Help - expert advice required

My coach is 98. He uses a Wilson Hammer of some sort. Pretty sure it is nearly 20 years old. He has no court coverage, but if you hit the ball to him he will tear you apart. If you want to stay with Wilson while trying something newer and different than another Hammer you are probably...

Trying to leave the Pure Drive

Try the Prince Warrior 100, Babolat Pure Strike, Wilson Pro Staff 97 and the Head Extreme.

    Bonjour from Babolat

Just as general feedback, I'd be interested in a Play version of the Pure Strike.

Need help with getting a new racquet!?

You could try the Yonex Vcore XI 98 or any of the three Tour 97 310 models. You won't need a dampener because the frames are dampened themselves. Stay clear of the newer SI 98 though, it is pretty harsh. I haven't tried any of the Ezone models, but they are flexier than the Vcores. The...

What racquet would you use if you were a professional?

    I would use a Pure Strike or a Vcore Tour F 97.

    Light but powerful

I have a Yonex Vcore XI 100. It is a great hitting racquet. Absolute blast to play with it.

    Tour G 330 to Tour G 310?

They aren't very different. Comfort, power and touch is all pretty much the same. They just feel different. Probably because of the extra cross or the aero beam shape in the F. The F feels extremely solid.

    16x19: TFight 315 Ltd v Pure Strike v Wilson Blade 98 v Prince TT95

If you swing it like you mean it, the Pure Strike absolutely destroys the ball. I'm not sure how the previous reply had stability problems. Most of the frame design in the Pure Strike is about making it stable. In my experience you can hit way off center with pretty much no twisting. That...

    Tour G 330 to Tour G 310?

When I demo'd them, I preferred the Tour F over the Tour G in the 310 weight.

    Is Babolat really the best?

I don't really like Babolats, and I prefer the feel of my Yonex racquets. However I can't argue with how well I hit the ball with my Pure Strike Tour. It's love/hate with the Pure Strike for me.

    Below $100 US Heavy Frame

The only other heavy sub $100 racquets I can think of are the Wilson Pro Staff 90 and if you find somewhere not sold out, the Volkl Organix 10 325 or mid.

TW: Shoe Recommendation to help knees?

I had a dislocated knee cap about 7 years ago. Between tennis and soccer I've found that stability is more important than cushioning for my situation. Also anything really heavy taxes my knee. I really like my Nike Vapor. The Fila Sentinel worked great for me too. If you want cushioning...

    New Racket Choice

For Yonex, the Tour F is all about the control. The Vcore XI 100 is on sale and i think mine has great control. It has similar specs to the Speed. Power and control can be tweaked with strings

Been a while, need some recommendations...

I think the Organix is so cheap because they only have 1 grip size left. Also it has been replaced by the Super G version and it wasn't popular compared to the PB10 version.

    Roddick

An image I found on Getty's that showed the buttcap still looks like a Babolat. Appears to have the older red logo like on this older Roddick Pure Drive. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Babolat_Pure_Drive_Roddick_Plus_2012/descpageRCBAB-BPRP13.html Some of the images on Getty's look like...

Been a while, need some recommendations...

I use the Pure Strike Tour. It hits a mean ball when you take a full, fast cut. I think I like the normal 16x19 version better though for general playability.

    Roddick

I think they are the same Pure Drives he always used. He's just had them painted black because Babolat doesn't pay him anymore. He also switched from Babolat shoes to New Balance.

Does power matter in racquets, or should I be able to generate power through technique?

Try the Vcore XI 100. It is a control racquet, but it is also a "player's" tweener. I use one with full poly strings at 54# and I can swing as hard and fast as I want with full control. If you put in a lively string, you should be able to get plenty of power if you need it.

Been a while, need some recommendations...

If you used to use a 90, you might as well try the Volkl PB10 mid. ...or the Organix 10 mid and new Super G mids. I'd also try the Yonex Tour lines. The Tour G and Tour F.

    Plz help a racquet commitment-phobe

Try the Yonex Vcore Tour F. I have the 97 (310) demo currently and it is amazing. If the 310 is too heavy, there is a lighter version. I really like the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19 too. Although I use the PS Tour which is 18x20.
