Does poly reel degenerate over time? I got a reel of Black Force 1.19 in 2016 as a back up string. I used it recently and it broke while stringing the mains. It went well in subsequent jobs but i had to string below 40lb because it felt stiff to me, although many call it a soft string

SPPP at 48/45lb. Surprisingly good power without sacrificing control. Feel is just right without dampener. Too muted with the dampener

I use a dampener only for some strings and/or racquet, when there is a weird ping that confuses my judgement. Otherwise, I go without it.

My transition is very similar to yours, coming from Vcore Pro 330 Blue/Red. With the VCore 98, I find that I could do many more things that surprise myself. Definitely not regretting the switch. If anything, I should have changed earlier!

There seems to be a similar country coding system for Yonex badminton racquets. Some say it's for distribution and warranty purposes. Some think the qualities are different. I'm inclined to think the former is true, at least for tennis...

They came out in Sep 2021 the last time so I'd expect the new ones to be similar

My impression is that Vcore 98 in general has not been getting much love compared to the 95 and 100, even for the past iterations. Why is that so?

I would place it in the VC and not the VCP series. 320g unstrung, 318sw and the feel is more direct. Pretty darn good racquet though. Damn, the nostalgia in this thread. That's a pretty good racquet too. Gonna dig it out from my closet

Heard a lot about the VCP97 needing crisp strings to counter the dampened feel. Would gut main and poly cross (say, 57lb) be too soft for this series of VCP97?

I'm also using the blue VCP 330 and curious about the new 310g version. Would you be switching? How would you compare the two? Do you feel like you lost anything with the new 310?

Racquettune is pretty reliable in my hands. I use it to track tension loss, so absolute tension is not essential but it's able to measure that quite accurate too

I've been using a butt-heavy navy VCP97 330 (2018?) and it seems like we're in search of the same things in the new racquets. I'm almost certain I'll give this iteration a miss but looking forward to your review on the 97H to make the final decision.

None of the Japanese reviews have 97H. It's not even on the Japanese Yonex site. Hopefully it's available in Asia

And they seem to like the 97D better, which Tennisnerd felt was meh. I trust TW more and will wait.

Just found a great video of Tennis Spin measuring the specs of RF97 and the green VCP97 last year, and describing the weight distribution that he felt in the racquets. Surprisingly, the SWs were 340+ for both instead of 330+ and he had to double check. Wonder if the increase in SW for the 97H...

I hope the swingweight is wrong too then. Don't remember any recent racquets with a swingweight at 338. Power RD 10 Long has the highest SW that I can remember but that was made decades ago EDIT: Just saw the tennisnerd post. It's wrong afterall. It's higher in reality. LOL!

Why the huge increase in swingweight for the 330 and sharp decrease in flex for the 310? I'll be waiting for the reviews. Hopefully these specs miraculously don't translate into sluggish or anemic racquets in actual playtest.

I feel the same. Although I've not used the Duel G, I had the Tour G 330 and now the VCP97 330 (2018). As everyone else had said, they are great racquets. My problem with the Vcore Pro series is not the weight but the balance. They feel much head heavier than other racquets of similar weight...

Polyfibre makes many polyolefin strings. Viper on TW has/is polyethylene, which is a form of polyolefin. Their website has more details on other strings with olefin that's not on TW. They're mostly made in Germany.
