    Tennis Journal of Mine

Unfortunately, Babolat no longer makes or supports the POP. Mine still works but it provides less info than before when it would communicate with the Babolat server to compare my data to other users. I also tried the Coollang koospur Tennis Racket Sensor but it wouldn't stay on the butt of my...

    Tennis Journal of Mine

I keep a similar journal. Actually I keep two. One journal records observations like yours. I keep another one of each match in which I rate myself on a scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 being low and 5 being high) whether I improved in these categories: technical, tactical, mental/emotional and in-match...

JV High School Tennis - Coaching

I try to avoid drills because the players don't get to hit many balls. I tell the boys that practices are more like clinics than private lessons. By that I mean I can point out if several players are making the same mistakes in technique or give quick pointers to a particular player but we don't...

JV High School Tennis - Coaching

Congrats on your new role! I coached a JV team for four years at a local boys private high school and enjoyed it. I was promoted to coaching the varsity team when the coach moved on the a college team. Your varsity coach should be able to help with designing practices. The varsity coach at my...

Tennis Warehouse: Babolat POP (wristband sensor) Playtest!!

I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. I played twice on Wednesday of this week. For the first session the speed of my groundstrokes and serves was in the usual range. However, in the second session the average speed and maximum speed of my forehand, backhand and serve all were at least 20...

Tennis Warehouse: Babolat POP (wristband sensor) Playtest!!

Josh, Thanks. I didn't get error messages. The app just crashes repeatedly. However, when I finally deleted and reinstalled the app it works the way it should. Wish I had thought of that sooner!

Risk of catching/spreading coronavirus from a tennis ball?

Here is a link to an article that includes info from a retired professor of pathology. https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2020/03/19/recreate-in-place-how-people-are-safely-getting-outside-to-exercise-in-the-coronavirus-age/ Here is the key quote: Ellen Jo Baron, a retired Stanford University...

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

I did the same thing. It worked once then started crashing again. I can get it to work by closing all apps then restarting the phone. Even after doing this sometimes it still takes opening the app multiple times before it stays open.

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

I just updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 11. Now the POP app crashes whenever I try to open it. Will Babolat be releasing a version that is compatible with iOS 11?

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

I have tried everything you suggested. Also tried a different connecting wire and a different USB port on my PC. Nothing works. Still not charging.

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

Volley stats are gone on mine too. And it quit charging! When I put it on the charger the light doesn't come on and the % battery charge doesn't change. Both started right after I installed the latest firmware upgrade.

Getting back into tennis after ACL surgery ... who has done it? Any tips?

I blew out my ACL, MCL, and partially tore my PCL as well as detached a hamstring and other muscles playing soccer 14 years ago when I was 52. I started hitting 7-8 months later but didn't start playing matches for another couple months after that. Started playing only doubles at first. The key...

What is the best strategy resource for Point Construction?

I am reading The Game of Singles in Tennis by William Talbert and Bruce Old. It was published in 1977 and is out of print so it's available only through Amazon or Barnes and Noble used section. One of the authors charted (manually, before the day of computers) points to find patterns. The book...

    Tennisone.com

I've searched for any news related to this but couldn't find anything. It would be a shame if this site is gone because it has lots of good info.

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

I have sent support a number of messages over the last two months. They have usually responded except for my most recent two messages which were sent in the last week. I'm up to 5 sessions that don't show. After tonight's match it went through the syncing process but when it was over there was...

    Babolat POP tennis sensor

My POP stats have revealed to me something I didn't realize similar to what Dan W said: that most of my groundstrokes are flat when I thought I was hitting with topspin. It's also been interesting to see the racket speed. It would be good to find a formula that estimates ball speed. My only...

How long for recovery post rotator cuff op?

I had rotator cuff surgery a couple years ago for a medium and a small tear in the right shoulder. The surgery was at the end of July. I started to hit that November and started to play in December. Had to be careful with overheads and serving until January. The shoulder felt good but my surgeon...
