What's with the McEnroe Nadal butt kissing lately?

Well he does add in Roger Federer at the end. "I still stand by my statement that he's the greatest ever, but I never thought he would lose....AND Roger Federer!" Something to that effect. I think he's putting Roger and Rafa up as the two greatest side by side.

Wow, Fed just hit the most amazing return...

I believe this is what he was referring to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrCZ6FiPfG4&feature=g-all-c

There is no genius without the touch of cockiness.

Although he was a big fan of Sampras, Federer has always maintained that Becker and Edberg were his idols growing up. Also, I hope I can find the interview somewhere but he was asked specifically about Sampras being his idol and Roger said (I'm paraphrasing here), "Actually growing up I was a...

    Federer's streak of 23 semis

Well he didn't make the semis of FO 2004, so that explains how Wimby 2004 was the start of his streak.

VS Gut mains and poly crosses

You're right...I guess I was put off by some peoples' experiences with the hybrid...I really don't need to to restring often.

    New to strings, advice needed

That actually makes a lot of sense..thanks. I keep hearing VS team/SS is the best gut/poly combo and that I should have the tension of the mains a few lbs higher?? What do you recommend for a k90? My cousin got one and it looks like a really good investment. Unfortunately, I'm in dental school...

    New to strings, advice needed

I played a 4.0 league a few years back (6-2 record) after the pro rated me as such. A lot better now, so probably a higher end 4.0. 1hbh, semi-western fh, put lots of spin, and slice the backhand a ton. I would say I probably play a lot like Ferrer, but I tend to go for my fh's a bit (not so...

VS Gut mains and poly crosses

So I've been using poly for a while now, and my strings break usually every few months (playing once a week essentially). Clearly, I've been doing it wrong after reading about the longevity of poly string. So I've been reading the forums and it seems a gut/poly hybrid is all the rage these...

Nadal: "I've been too predictable a player"

Easy tiger. I never said Joker dominated him that match, but had him on a string. What I am referring to is essentially how each point played out. While both players were running a ton, it seemed as though Joker was making Rafa run even more than him. And I agree that in every match prior to...

Nadal: "I've been too predictable a player"

The reason he was struggling so much was because Joker had him on a string. Have you ever seen Rafa run so much? My point wasn't that Rafa didn't look tired, it's that the reason he was tired was because Joker was toying with him and moving him side to side and not so much from a "heat stroke".

Nadal: "I've been too predictable a player"

I stopped reading after he implied that he lost Miami because of a heat stroke, and lost the US Open because his hamstring was hurting from when he played Nalbandian.

Agassi: Federer the best of All Time, Now

Umm..that's not why Ali threw his gold medal into the Ohio river ha. He threw it because he was refused service at a "whites only" restaurant despite winning a gold medal for his country.

What is all this bad talk about Nole?

From what either Cahill or Pat Mac said earlier this year. Rebound Ace had the same bounce, but it was a better court for flat shots. If you hit flat shots on RA, they really skid and went through the court. That type of shot no longer works at the AO.

    Another <sigh> Rafa excuse!!!

I am a Fed fan that has no hate for Rafa, but this sig is just one of FBC's gems that I had to share. I wished Rafa luck and he was polite enough to say thank you!

If Nadal didn't have "injuries", how many slams would he have?

Rafa and Fed may be able to play at the same level, but Fed sits at that level comfortably where as Nadal must overcome his limits to maintain that level. This leads to certain injuries...

nadals better volleyer than federere says jogn mcenros

Has anyone noticed that Rafa only really volleys when the volleys are putaways??? How often have you seen him dig or lunge for a volley. The reason his percentage is high isn't because he is a great volleyer, it's because he is a smart volleyer.
