    Broken load spreader

I think the frame didn't have enough curve to it and that is what snapped it.

    Broken load spreader

I bought a load spreader to use with my 6 point machine. While stringing I heard a very loud snap. Thankfully it was the load spreader and I removed the strings and inspected the racquet. It was fine but the load spreader is toast. At this point I don't think I will buy it again. I would rather...

    RPM Blast shearing

Thank you @Irvin. I cut the strings out last night and carefully pulled each string out from the grommets. They all looked normal. I am not using RPM in this racquet again. I may try @jim e 's suggestion. Thank you

    RPM Blast shearing

Thanks everyone. Since the client ordered new grommets I am going to install those first. I'm also going to switch brands of poly on this next re string.

    RPM Blast shearing

The lettering on the strings are straight every place that they are printed. On 3-4 left there is printing that runs around the back side of the grommet and it runs straight as well. That's not saying that the string that broke wasn't twisted

    RPM Blast shearing

He was using luxilon. I have strung tons of poly and have never had a twisting issue. I will put in the new grommets and re string being ridiculously careful to keep it as straight as possible.

    RPM Blast shearing

Thanks for the tips. I restrung the racquet both mains and crosses. This time I did the crosses in synthetic. An hour into play and 3-4 on the right side snapped. It looks the same very clean break possibly inside the grommets. The spots on the strings are reflection from the flash.

    RPM Blast shearing

That's is a reflection. The string on both sides of the break are smooth. It could have been a twist.....this is a first for me. I've never had a string job come back with a problem.

    RPM Blast shearing

I already restrung it for free. Just for my own information. Thank you @Irvin.

    RPM Blast shearing

I strung a Prince pro tour 100 two nights ago with a full bed of RPM Blast 17ga from a reel that I have used several sets off of. The grommets are in great shape. 30 minutes into play my customer broke the strings at the 8th-9th cross from the top on the right side. The string looks like a shank...

    V method pulley

I assume it's the weaving technique. Here is the quote from 10-28-2011 sorry to read you misunderstood what I wrote. As Irvin pointed out, this was not my message. In fact, I would go out and say many stringers on this board such as Irvin, JimE, SteveHuff, etc are more knowledgable and possibly...

    V method pulley

@drakulie I was reading an old thread from 2011 that you mentioned Wilson endorsing the V method and you commented that you learned that method in the mid 80's but it was called a pulley method. Can you tell me what that is?

    Wise Pull Speed Setting ...

I wouldn't be happy with the latex answer. I would want the gripper looked at. Don't *uck with the Jesus

    Wise Pull Speed Setting ...

What did Dan Martenez at Wise say about this? If you haven't called him you should. I have no marking at all and all I use is one wrap on the diabolo.

    Wise 2086 distance to racket?

I keep my wise back far enough to clear the turntable plus about an inch so when wrapping the diabolo I have room.

Starting Crosses with knot or starting clamp?

Thanks. The starting clamp added to it makes more sense to me. Thank you for the different technique. I will give it a try.

Starting Crosses with knot or starting clamp?

@jim e Let me make sure I understand what you are doing. You pull both the first/second cross let's say on the right side of the frame. You clamp off on the left side on the second cross furthest away from the tension head. Then you release tension and pull the top cross, clamp and tie off...

    Wise Pull Speed Setting ...

Even if I don't wrap the string around the diabolo (or however you want to spell it) I don't get crushed or damaged strings. I normally do one wrap around and then to the gripper. I would try to adjust and make sure you are turning the adjuster the correct way. If I remember correctly it's...

    Stringing with strethcy strings

I string a lot of stretchy synthetic gut and have never had the Wise run out of pull length. I wouldn't worry about it.

Starting Crosses with knot or starting clamp?

@ertorque Yes! I would agree with you if you tie a starting knot and pull tension on the second cross. This puts less than full tension on the first cross because of the 180 turn around the grommet. Resulting in much less pressure on the starting knot. I was assuming that most people with...

    Electric stringing machine calibration

I don't know on the ELS in particular but on the wise head it can be calibrated but you need a very precise gauge and is not recommended to mess with. Unless a load cell goes bad it should be spot on every time you turn it on.

Starting Crosses with knot or starting clamp?

I think what Jim was saying is that a starting knot squeezes the main string and crushes down into the grommet then makes two sharp turns. This is while the machine is pulling reference tension on the string (less the friction from weaving through the mains). When using the starting clamp you...

Throat/Head posts moving after pulling main tension

I did three frames tonight with the load spreader in place. None of the three moved but I made sure the spreader was seated well. My mount was too loose on the other frame.

    Question for Gamma 6004 owners/users

I bought a used early 6004. I'm the third owner so I have no idea how many frames it has done but the guy before me strung roughly 1200 frames on it. I have not seen any table flex. I am super happy with the switch action clamps, table, 6 point mounting ( I put the new style black C mounts. The...

Throat/Head posts moving after pulling main tension

I have seen this happen as well. It happens more when I have a load spreader in there. I assume it is pressing the spreader into the frame. I don't adjust the mounts. Once I put in the next main I don't seen it being loose anymore. Once the crosses are in it comes off the machine with similar...

If I wanted to start stringing my own rackets

I've bought two used machines off Craig's. Both great buys. You want to string a racquet on them to confirm it all works and all the parts are there.

    Gamma 6004 with Wise

The best thing I ever did was modify the bracket to get 360 back on my 6004. The Diablo took a lot of stress off the gripper plates so no adjustments. I couldn't be happier with my setup. @sp1derman glad it all worked out for you. Enjoy the new setup. I'm love my wise + 6004!

    I need to string a Wilson N Code N26

@Irvin On that frame if you switched the short side to the opposite side would that have the crosses running correctly? On a hyper-ion n code I ran into that so I just reversed the short side when I strung it last night. I didn't run into any issues on that frame but what has your experience been?

    I need to string a Wilson N Code N26

I see what you did there. By doing the bottom cross/ last main last you eliminate the hard weaves and the need to remember if even number of mains then top and bottom cross ae odd.
