Theory: Kevlar is better for club players than poly

I don't understand why people hate Kevlar so much. On this forum people are too equipment sensitive, having the right gear is important but I don't think you can say Kevlar is wrong for everyone. I used it as a 13 year old using it in a stiff oversize getting about 2months per job. I had it...

    Water Softners

Do any of you guys have a water softner. If so how much does it cost per year?? I'm doing a chemestry paper on ion exchange and any help on the practical end on owning a water softner, or how an ion exchange water softening unit works would be great. THANKS IN ADVANCE. Last minute work please...

    Can I reuse the strings????

NO YOU CANNOT. Why these people say you can is disturbing, you will not have enough string to string again, it doesn't matter the patern, you would need a ten +inch frame difference. If you ha a one peice you might hypothetically employ it in a hybrid, but really how frugal are you? My two...

Why are some rackets suggested for 4.5 players or above?

I think the recommendation are for people with no clue. Really I wouldn't put any value on the Ntpr recommendation.

    I think it's a nice retro look.

Until you play to 4.5 level you cannot understand the sport of tennis fully

I think there's truth to what he's saying, but he's being. Total @$$ about it

Did I just create the most arm-friendly setup in history?

Since theres another dampener argument here I have a question: does anyone else feel dampeners tighten up the string bed alittle. When I started throwing dampeners onto my frame I felt a slight tightening up of the string bed and a little more string longevity.

    Babolat wtf

So I was string a racket, one of babolats cheaper rackets, and I swear there was no where to tie off the last cross on a 2 peice job... It was some funky green racket, 45-55 tension range. Anyone else have this issue with a racket, do I tell the dude I'm stringing it for to send the racket back...

At what point do you decide to come in in a serve & volley?

If you play at that level then the dude your playing is probably inconsistent and just as likely to crush you off your good serve or mishit, so I'd say just nut up and run up. S & v looks better for the ladies anywho

My Problem on the One Hand Backhand

I think first off you should keep from turning your shoulders before your racket is all the way up. The you can worry about grip, pulling, semi open stance or whatever first things first... closed stance, don't turn your shoulders, you look like you have good timing and contact, it's just the...

My Problem on the One Hand Backhand

Looks like a great back hand only thing is that you're turning your shoulders like your forehand. As soon as you stop turning you'll have a great backhand. Racket low to high, and then you let the momentum turn your torso. your abs should not be turning you, just momentum.

    The modern game

I always thought timing was the greatest component to topspin, and keeping your muscles lose was a way of making sure your brain doesn't get in the wy of making that connection. Because at some point you do tense up, bu only for that split second where you need it.

    A pro+wooden racquet VS 5.0 + modern racquet?

I know I don't play a high level tennis, but when I switch to messing around with my woody I don't have to adjust my swing. Just the timing, the switch to the woody is easier for me than a switch to a 9 oz oversize. S I'd say the pro crushes without sweating.

    Is stringing actually enjoyable?

It's quite therapeutic in my opinion. It's simpe, easy, saves money, makes money, and brings you closer to your partner.

    1HBH elbow lock or not?

Locking sounds really dangerous, especially on low fast balls.

    Just started Tennis

3.0 I think, 3.5 is really generous. I think you should push through your forehand more hit out instead just brushing up.

Should I buy a stringing machine?

Buy a drop weight, it's worth it to get fixed clamps IMO , I have flying clamps and don't like them one bit

    Knots: tying off

What's your favorite tie off knot? Which one is best. Or is just personal preferance?
  25. P

I'm really good at knocking - but I cant win games

I SO FEEL YOU!!!! HOLY CRAP.... UHHHHGGGG I often feel like just not playing tennis because I just cannot bring my forehand, backhand, serves, and especially my footwork to a match... T- T

    Knots: tying off

What's the best knot to tie off with? I've been using a Wilson pro knot but I had someone critique my tie off knots recently so I'm looking for a better one. He suggested a Parnell knot, but it got me wondering what else. So I am asking for your favorite knot

Opinion: How Many Racquets Do I Need?

200 for a drop weight and they're not big... Just like 2 by 1 ft

Opinion: How Many Racquets Do I Need?

Get a stringing machine. Seriously look at the cost of strings, then do some math on a string reel, and then compare it to what your being charged. And then add the difference to your wallet. Another racket can be bought after 6 months stringing.
