Since theres another dampener argument here I have a question: does anyone else feel dampeners tighten up the string bed alittle. When I started throwing dampeners onto my frame I felt a slight tightening up of the string bed and a little more string longevity.

So I was string a racket, one of babolats cheaper rackets, and I swear there was no where to tie off the last cross on a 2 peice job... It was some funky green racket, 45-55 tension range. Anyone else have this issue with a racket, do I tell the dude I'm stringing it for to send the racket back...

If you play at that level then the dude your playing is probably inconsistent and just as likely to crush you off your good serve or mishit, so I'd say just nut up and run up. S & v looks better for the ladies anywho :twisted:

I think first off you should keep from turning your shoulders before your racket is all the way up. The you can worry about grip, pulling, semi open stance or whatever first things first... closed stance, don't turn your shoulders, you look like you have good timing and contact, it's just the...

Looks like a great back hand only thing is that you're turning your shoulders like your forehand. As soon as you stop turning you'll have a great backhand. Racket low to high, and then you let the momentum turn your torso. your abs should not be turning you, just momentum.

I always thought timing was the greatest component to topspin, and keeping your muscles lose was a way of making sure your brain doesn't get in the wy of making that connection. Because at some point you do tense up, bu only for that split second where you need it.

I know I don't play a high level tennis, but when I switch to messing around with my woody I don't have to adjust my swing. Just the timing, the switch to the woody is easier for me than a switch to a 9 oz oversize. S I'd say the pro crushes without sweating.

Get a stringing machine. Seriously look at the cost of strings, then do some math on a string reel, and then compare it to what your being charged. And then add the difference to your wallet. Another racket can be bought after 6 months stringing.
