    HEAD Penn Official

Hello Andy This one may throw you but what do you know about the TI 12.(intelligence 12) I found that many 4.0 player in my area use the TS6 and I landed on the TI 12 and really liked it. I am thinking of adding weight since the racket is so light but where is the question. The racket is head...

    What is wrong with Nadal

I firmly believe that his heart is just not in it. I say that in response to many of his interview statements. Not everyone is Fed, where they wake up every morning wanting to hit the practice court. Look at some past statements from Stephie Graf. How about Agassi, he hated the game at the end...

    Tennis elbow---Strings vs tension

OK, thanks for the info. I hate the reality of your answers since I love using my current poly setup but I guess I will have to face the truth. I currently use BHB7. Any suggestions?????

    Tennis elbow---Strings vs tension

Why would lowering the tension of Poly not be equal to or greater than changing to a non poly at a higher tension?

When did you notice your Tennis Elbow?

Because I love poly I lowered the tension a lot. changed from OHBH to twohander( This is huge but very hard at first) Nothing irritated my elbow like the topspin one handed backhand. Learned to serve by using a full western forehand with massive topspin. It can be done without any 4.0 player...

    Two handed backhand grip

I use a full western forehand. I hold that grip on the two handed backhand with the top hand at SW to full Western. This may sound crazy but I use the same side of the racket face for both shots. There is no grip change with the hand used for the forehand. I am a lefty. This feels weird at...

Need ideas on how to practice S&V against the wall

I do this all the time. There is really no reason to serve. Merely bounce the ball just in front of the wall first. You will find a way to get any type volley you want. Make sure you are far enough back so you have time to split step and then volley. Do not watch the ball that sets up the...

    Poly getting stuck too soon

I think it does effect how the strings play. Snap back =>spin. A stuck string out of place =<less spin and random control.

Who finds playing competitive matches stressful?

Being game tough in singles is the most demanding thing I know of. Really. The second set is just plain exhausting for me.(mentally not physically). Keeping the pressure on is beyond hard. It is a mountain. This of course is applicable to a very even and tough match.

Dry absorbent grip like Tourna Original

There is no over grip that I know of that comes close to Tourna. Not in the summer anyway. Not sure what you mean by purple as all I know of is blue.

    Poly getting stuck too soon

If you like BHB7 then merely go with it in a full bed. You absolutely will have no snap back problems. BHB7 is soft and arm friendly so a full bed is no problem. I have used it from 38# to 59# in different racquets and had no snap back problems.

    Babolat pro hurricane

Certainly not soft IMHO. String lower than 59 to avoid my displeasure. I hated it at first but after 2 hours it was tolerable. Not something I will ever try again.

    Best Poly for your Buck

I have been waiting for the OP to report back on a 3 string test but looks like he abandoned all 3. Hard guy to follow.

    old vs fresh polyester

My perception of old poly is that it feels like the tension is getting tighter. Increased vibration. Less feel and for me less control.

White over grip that feels like TournaGrip?

I looked a while back and came up empty. I am not sure why tourna only comes in the light blue but a few years back they did have other colors. They likely want their grip to be identified so as not to get lost in all the others on TV.

People are giving too much atention to strings

Well I am crushed:cry: Does this mean I will never find the miracle string that will put me on the Pro Circuit??? I admitted I lacked the game long ago but now I have to give up on strings too. Plus what am I going to read about all day. I guess the miracle racquet will get the job done for me.

Reducing string tension,(does this really work)

It happens. You get the racquet back from the stringer and it feels way too tight. Next day its still way too tight. Stringer says "just put it on carpet and stand on it" (no reason here to slam the stringer its about the topic) Does this work? If it does reduce tension, will there be any...

    Small crack found.

From experience, unless you string yourself, I would give it the above burial. I had one that I used as a wall racquet until the string broke, and by then the crack was much more obvious.

    Should crosses snap back?

I have never used any lubricant on the strings. Since many here attest to perfect spring back, in my case bhb7, then strings can be eliminated. Unless of course there is some tension limits that change their behavior. I doubt it is your racquet. I used hyper prostaffs 6.1 95 16x18 for...

How does tension effect sweet spot size?

I suppose that it is true there is only one true sweet spot regardless of tension but even so..... When I string too tight I feel like there is no sweet spot at all. Of course if one strings way too lose, the ball pockets all over the string bed and who know where it may go. (but I see the...

    Should crosses snap back?

I can see you are frustrated by most of the answers. Since I have used bhb7 for a couple of years and it always snaps back perfectly, then my answer to you question is, I do not know why your crosses are sticking. I will say I feel your pain. I totally hate it when strings have to be moved back...

    Here's something you won't like:

I only know that if a racquet is strung to tight I can tell it. Too tight in its own right is subjective. For me it means, harsh, dead, small sweet spot, and no power. For me it is over 56 with poly in my stiff racquet.

    Should crosses snap back?

bhb7 has always snapped back for me without any problem. So does CT. snap back is priority # 1 for me.

    alternatives to cyclone tour

I have used bhb7 for 2 years. I recently strung ct and I must say this is a great string. Both are soft with good power and impressive spin. I love them both. If I could only use one for the next year I would not lose any sleep at all. bhb7 loses its edge quite quickly and I have not had...

Arm pain from strings or racket?

I think it is mostly strings and tension. You get a harsh poly and then string it too tight and I think you are in trouble with any racquet. Try a soft poly at under 50 and most likely you will be able to stay with your racquet of choice.

    Constant Pull, Lockout, Drop Weight???

Thanks for that info Irvin. I guess he knows what he is doing then. I was afraid to question him but I had read that it should be level. Now that I remember, I was starting to fiddle around trying to get it level when he stopped me. Like I said the racquet played really good.

    Soft Poly Recommendations - Blade 98(18 x 20) + Ai 98

I read some of mikeler's reviews and just put a set of CT on my singles racquet. I have used it one time and promptly put it away. Because... I am saving it for my most important singles matches until I can get it strung on another racquet. I will string Bhb7 on a third racquet to compare. I...

    Constant Pull, Lockout, Drop Weight???

I want to learn how to string and then buy an inexpensive stringer. I helped a guy string my last racquet and even though I was in the dark part of the time, I think I could be more consistent. It was a drop weight the lever was never in the same place after he pulled the string. He said it did...
