    Hitting up on the serve

I use a very precise method of thought when approaching the serve.

Head speed pro from dunlop bio 200 - dramatic improvement

That's about there I started. I started at 48M/46X and then gradually dropped it. I ended up at 44M/41X. I also found out that I like to drop the gauge on the cross relative to the main. It gives it this cool pocketing feel. I've tinkered quite a bit.

Head speed pro from dunlop bio 200 - dramatic improvement

I wouldn't be too nervous about playing around with the tensions. I thought it would become a rocket launcher as well, but I was surprised when it didn't. It did give the ball a little higher launch angle, but it was actually something I needed anyway -- a little more margin over the net...

Drop that tension 7-10 pounds. At your game level -- it'll be no issue. Just my 2 cents.

Your softest hybrid setup for spin and control

Lots of experience and info on TT about this. At the end of the day, what's the difference in stringing up a hybrid (or 2 string pattern) and just replacing the cross string? Not a dang thing. You just have to be careful not to damage the mains as you take the old cross out and put the new...

    No it’s not.

Head speed pro from dunlop bio 200 - dramatic improvement

At your level, you should be able to feel out what your game needs. Sounds like you're able to play your game at a high level with the Speed 360 Pro. With that head size and flexibility -- if it feels right to you, then stick with it. With respect to lead, keep it as-is unless you feel like...

    Losing tension when stringing crosses.

And this is why I'm about to buy my own stringing machine -- again. I used to string my own when I was in HS and College. But that was 15-20 years ago. I am tired of paying $15 for labor only for ****ty and inconsistent string jobs by "MRT" folks at a major store here in Houston. I wouldn't...

    Yonex VCORE series 2018

I like my DR98's way too much to even try anything else. That said, I'm curious what people think between the two. So yeah, I'm waiting on some comparisons as well.

    Yonex line-up?

I'm so glad I got in while the DR's were still being sold. There's nothing out there that plays like them. They're just super string sensitive!

    I don't get the Dimitrov-Federer comparisons ...

Looking more and more like a James Blake type career as years pass by. Grigor is wishing he had the success of Roddick at this point ....

    Yonex Ezone DR CLUB!!!!~~~!!!

From my experience -- I don't like any string to be strung over 50lbs in this stick. Doesn't matter whether it's multi, nat gut or poly -- a tension over 50 just doesn't feel right to me in this frame.

Rackets you hated playing good with ?

The Yonex racket I currently play with. I never would have thought that I would like the isometric head shape. I talked so much crap about it in the past ....

Wilson RF97A vs Yonex Vcore Pro

Coming from the RFA, I have to say that I did not like the VCore Pro at all. It played differently, and it actually felt stiffer (probably where I hit the ball on the string bed). I do agree though, that the RFA isn't for everyone. I have solid technique, but I still had shoulder fatigue...

    Tennis elbow in teenager

This thread is interesting. I suggest getting her some rest, then in some lessons, some good ole Gosen OGS Micro syn gut strung around 50lbs, and maybe some physical therapy. Don't over complicate it. If you want to switch rackets, then I suggest a demo of this Yonex frame ...

Switching Stick. Radical Pro, Speed MP, or EZone 98 ?

Lucky for you, you can no longer get the DR 98 -- so you can eliminate that from your list. For real though -- the Ezone 98 is similar, and it does play stiffer than the DR 98 as others have said. I made the switch to the DR a couple months ago, and I tested both the DR 98 and Ezone 98 before...

What would you have done? Crazy people playing tournaments...

Dude -- this is so true. I had a fella start underhand serving yesterday in the CONSOLATION bracket final because he couldn't win a point on his first or second serve. Given, this guy had no reason playing 4.0 singles -- he was a mediocre 3.5 singles player -- at best. He also made some...

Pure strike 98 16x19 can’t keep the ball in?!

4.0 here -- and I can figure out how to keep the ball in with any racket. What gives??? .... Okay, seriously -- I hated Hyper G. The two strings that I've found stay playable and consistent for me are -- Weiss Cannon Silver String and Luxilon Alu Power Soft. I am just trying to figure out...

I guess I wasn't very clear. He was becoming more of a jerk as the match progressed past the first couple games, and he realized it was going to be tougher than he might have anticipated. End of the day -- no excuses. I lost because I'm not good enough right now. I was just wondering...

Opponent loses temper, throws racquet onto your side.

This happened in juniors a couple times. I just picked the racket up and walked it over to them and smiled. Just to annoy them even more.

What would you have done? ...

Playing in a 4.0 tournament singles match last night. He was up 6-5 in the first set, and it was my serve. I was down 0-40 on serve. He missed the return on my second serve, 15-40. Ace. 30-40. He mishit his return on my first serve. Deuce. I win the next point, but it was a close call on the...

    Yonex.....

I just went through the playtest/demo process and ended up with modded up DR98’s. I was able to buy a few before everyone ran out of stock. I was able to get reliable/consistent depth with my 60% ball, and having confidence in that drove me to the decision. I could hit nastier/bigger balls...

    Looking for a low-powered player's racquet

Yeah, but I just realized OP is from London -- so he can come back and shut me up real quick since they obviously have their own ranking system, and it might be difficult to translate that to USTA rankings :D

    Looking for a low-powered player's racquet

People should know their ranking. If they say anything like "I should be around" or "something like" ... Then I just assume 3.5. There's nothing wrong with that either. It's just people that hit around for fun tend to overrate themselves forgetting how difficult it is to turn casual practice...

The racquet bug again... From a DR98 would a Speed Pro or Pure Aero be a step back?

I would replace the leather grip with a normal replacement grip and add a couple grams @ 12. Wouldn't hurt anything to try :)
