On a high end side the AK PRO CX is a really good main syn gut to pair with a slick round poly or even w rough poly - ie maxpower rough, alu rough - cross. Other good regular syn gut strings that I found work well as mains with a poly cross are OGSM 17 white and POSG (non-dura stuff) 17 white

Same with Fed and the tuxedo paint job - black with white sides - he couldn’t play with that, it was all mental for him as well it seems, and they immediately got rid of that pj for RF97

8.5-9 max - he didn't get into his top gear today, offense still wasn't there...

Those with the Head Barcode Label Inside written on the side were finished in Czech Republic, and basically manufactured in Austria, they're original layup and generally softer PTs, I got couple of those

All PT57A mold racquets I have - PT280s, zebra and candycane Radical Tours - are 27", but sometimes do get shortened a bit, approx 1/16" (couple mm) or so after stringing

Same here, really want to break these strings. At this point it's past 50% and closer to 70% notching on my second setup (in the mains with thin poly cross) but still very much playable (especially with a bit of secret sauce aka silicone spray ;). I had to cut them out on the first racquet...

But it seems that Velocity is a different kind of multi and doesn't fray or shred quickly like a lot of others. Gut/poly user here, and I had to test Velocity 17g after reading about it on this thread since it checked all important boxes, and after seeing it had great stats on TWU string database. Ordered a set for testing and installed it as a main with slick, round poly crosses - tourna black zone 1.20...

Another one worth trying/demoing is Head Microgel Radical Oversize - 107, great control for an oversize racquet, not too powerful, super soft/comfy on your arm/shoulder, and the price for a new racquet is unbeatable...

You can measure the balance of a racquet by hanging it off the side of a table until it leans and starts tipping. Then measure the distance from the balance point to the butt cap Here's an older TT post describing the method...

It's not a huge difference but it's definitely better to go with thinner gauge in dense patterns. I would still suggest you to try Explosiv mains 54-55lb (24.5-25kg) /Max Power cross 50lb (22.5kg). This kind of hybrid provides nice power, very good control from poly cross, great spin because...
