    Solinco logo and meaning

What’s the history of the brand Solinco? I know they began in 1984 as a string company. But what does the name “Solinco” mean and what is the meaning and symbolism of their logo?

Let's Gather All Grip Specs (Weight & Thickness) into two threads

I weighed one of my Pacific leather grips with the finishing tape around it and it read 23g. By the way, if you want the lightest leather then you should buy a Kimony Techni Learher. They weigh 13g untrimmed.

Let's Gather All Grip Specs (Weight & Thickness) into two threads

Then if I am using a 25mm wide overgrip should I then opt for the 25mm leather replacement grip if the weights will be the same?

Let's Gather All Grip Specs (Weight & Thickness) into two threads

And whats the difference between 22mm width and 25 mm width with the same variables. Would the 25mm weigh less because more would be trimmed?

Let's Gather All Grip Specs (Weight & Thickness) into two threads

Why would someone use the 1.3mm grip versus the 1.5mm one?

How Do You Store Your Tennis Accessories?

My tennis accessories are growing. I have customization tools, extra grips, extra string sets, nutrition and hydration and pretty much everything that I feel can prepare me for practices, matches and weekend long tournaments. And of course my racquet bags and racquets. My question is how...

    Pacific Tennis. Still operating?

Hello. Just curious about the Pacific Tennis brand. Have they gone out of business? Their website looks disabled and it's impossible to buy their racquets in North America. Anyone have the latest information on what was a great brand? Aaron

Correct bevel for starting a leather grip

I start at the bottom at bevel 5 for the under grip and then bevel 1 for the over grip.

Grip size of hand and grip size of racquet question

It just occurred to me that in finding your ideal racquet which would include the proper grip size, it seems as if you measure your grip using your ring finger to the second horizontal crease of your palm that you should choose one grip size lower from that measurement. The reason? The buildup...

Get a handle on your tennis! Pallet shapes and sizes de-bunked, measured and explained! (what‘s a pallet?! essentially, the shape your grip takes)

I'm just curious but how did you come up with those ratio numbers? long side/short side = ratio?

Get a handle on your tennis! Pallet shapes and sizes de-bunked, measured and explained! (what‘s a pallet?! essentially, the shape your grip takes)

Nice episode. The pallet sizes seem relatively close now. Where can I get a set of those calipers Troy used?

Volkl V1 Classic for one-handed backhand

Thanks. I would add lead to the framed so it would be 315+. The V1 Classic is the most comfortable racquet I have ever hit with.

Volkl V1 Classic for one-handed backhand

Hello, Play testing now and love Volkl's V1 Classic. Dubbed "the original 'tweener" this frame is 102 square inches and weighs in at 285 grams with a balance of 325 mm. I like it a lot but have reservations of it's large head size for my one-handed backhand. Any thoughts and can...

Tacky Towels, Gorilla Grips, Tac Rags

Any thoughts to these products that add tack to your grips. I find they add too much tack and are thus ineffective. Like the result is your grip is tackier than Unique's MegaTac. You can barely change grips after applying. But I'm curious if anyone else was satisfied with the products or...

Customized extension lead to huge weight gain

Customized extension lead to huge weight gain

I had my Völkl V-Cell 8 300g extended by an inch by a MRT. Turned out when the grips were added the frame weight out at 342 grams. Completely different racquet. I thought that the customized lengths would add 5 to 10 grams not 34 grams. At any rate, anyone else have experimented as well...

Investing in a stringer because of using poly

Hello. I was thinking of investing in a stringer and learning to string because I want to use poly and re-string more frequently because I don't want to play with dead string (health issues, resiliency, etc.). Is this a good idea? Is it worth the time, money and effort to learn to string...

Playtested the big 4 in Overgrips tonite!

Yeah. I tried MegaTac. Most likely the tackiest grip in the world. No grip tackier in the industry. My suspect is that Wilson Pro is the most popular over grip in the world. Kinda helps if Roger and Serena use it. Haven't tried Dunlop Supertac but hear good things about it...

Seems like the consensus is a 2:1 ratio of shirts to shorts. That's what I do too. :-)
