The many missing aces of Musetti the Magician. Can he find them in the years to come?

Funny. Before this latest boom or craze in sports betting, back around 2016-19, when i was really following the tour, i would gamble and there was good period where i did v well gradually accumulating high % of wins putting money on Seppi in individual matches.

"Balanced" - yeah but, 48 winners in 39 games on clay - like you say! That is Guga-like at Guga's classic form. This must be the most impressive of Stan's three slams. i mean Djokovic 2015? Get outta here Stan - Novak's 2015 one of best single seasons of any player of any era (arguably best...

Keys isn't allowed to play a WTA 250 because only 1 top 10 player is allowed to play in WTA 250 (Pegula in already)

Like no sense building a really well-run, player/fan friendly WTA 250. What's the point?

Why was Sinner allowed to leave the court for a 15 min MTO in the middle of the third set?

you hit it. you take MTO and opponent serves two consecutive games. Simple, brilliant.

i think poster meant not "courageous", "gallant", "adventurous" of Monfils, or something in that vein. Some of y'all might needs brushing up on your vocabulary, like words can have multiple meanings, ya know?

Navratilova on the Sinner case: “The system must be blown up”

Right. Not "Rapist". Only legally liable for "sexual assault". We must parse our words carefully when speaking of IL DUCE, sorry, i mean, THE DONALD. Yes, everyone please choose your words carefully. And when not assaulting sexually HE is also not a "whoremonger", please no. He is only...

    Would Gonzalez Win Roland Garros?

not sure understand question, Timnz. I remember that i thought St Louis was clay or Har-Tru in all its Pro editions thru 1967, but Elegos7 said it was switched to hard court (as in concrete or asphalt based w composites) in 1966. He usually knows these details much better than me, so i accept...

    Where is Ríos now?

Not sure what you are saying: he did not possess tennis talent level = Nole, Rocket, Gorgo, Tilden and a few others? Okay, agreed. Or are you saying his talent/potential level not = consensus ATGs like Becker, Borotra, Agassi, Connors? Can't agree.

Match Stats/Report - Tsonga vs Nalbandian, Paris final, 2008

good observation. it is odd. Monfils so close in 2009, losing decider tiebreak to Nole. Forget was formidable. Underrated. Came close to defending title. I liked Grosjean and saw his big win there. Not the the talent of the other three.

early recognition of Emerson's GS record

There Is a lot of Bud in that book. Rocket was about cashing in quickly while he had the skills, hence the TCCs, WCT tour and other good paydays like PSW, Las Vegas, US Pro Indoor, Wembley, Sydney Dunlop etc.

early recognition of Emerson's GS record

The Australian was not "on par" with the other three. But in 1933, Vines competed at the Australian, so it was pretty big that year. Perry was there in 1934-35 and Budge and Cramm in 1938, as I mentioned. So Aussie had an allure. I think at that time, in general, PSW was bigger, MC was...

early recognition of Emerson's GS record

Nice excerpt. I would say "The Grand Slam" a la Budge was a thing to be grasped - if one was Australian, or if one was ambitious enough (like Budge). I think that Lew's perspective is not so distorted, but reflects a real - if exceedingly rare thing. I think Trabert was clearly trying for the...

early recognition of Emerson's GS record

This is important to take into account when comparing BIG THREE priorities with the past. In 1973, Borg said his primary goal was to win the Davis Cup. He did so in 1975 and thereafter Borg's primary goal was to make as much money as quickly as possible as he could. But he also knew his...

if that is what the post said it is obviously wrong. US Nationals was a real-McCoy "slam" as we would call it since forever. At 1923 it was for the moment THE SLAM bec where you had to go to try to beat Bill Tilden. ILTF only recognized the obvious when it "sanctioned" US Nat'l as a "world...
