Instead of a roof at the US Open...

Two words...Labor Day. They won't move the Open simply because of that.

USO organizers - bunch of morons

The rain started about 40 minutes after they called the match. They stopped the match as soon as the city of NY told them they needed to evacuate the facility. The city doesn't care where in the match this occurred they just want everyone out. And those of you complaining about them not...

    New York weather updates

I don't think any hard court tournament covers their courts. Because once the rain begins to fall the rain becomes trapped under the tarp. Once the tarp is removed it actually makes it harder to dry then just leaving the courts uncovered. The French and Wimbledon are able to cover their courts...

    Roof over Arthur Ashe?

What does NYC have to do with anything? NYC taxpayers will not be paying to put a roof on the stadium.

Isner the featured night match on Ashe??

The "better" matches are always played during Labor Day weekend so that CBS can air them. It has nothing to do with slim pickings. Even if Roddick were still in the tournament he would not be playing a night match this weekend.

    Which tournaments Federer HASN'T won?

I think the Olympic medal means a lot to Federer. He's committed to the London games as soon as it was announced as the host city. And as excited as he was to win the doubles medal I think he would be doubly excited for a singles medal.

    What's up with Baghdatis?

He wasn't really that injured in Binghamton and someone in his camp forgot to enter him into the US Open qualifying. I'm pretty sure he played in New Haven and lost first round. So maybe he's back home working on his game.

    IS this D. Young?

Then Donald lied to you because the person in that video looks nothing like Donald.

Wow, that final was reeeaally bad.

I'm in my right mind and honestly don't think they "fix" their matches. They might not play their best against each other but to say they are choosing who wins ahead of time is ludicrous. Especially now. They are both in their late 20's in the twilight of their careers what would be the point...

Send your Critique to ESPN2 Commentators:

How is that possible if they were on the same side of the draw? That means they only played every other day.

1st Round DC tie USA vs. Switzerland to be in Alabama

That site wasn't decided on until about 3 weeks before the start of the tournament.

1st Round DC tie USA vs. Switzerland to be in Alabama

It's not just about picking a "tennis appealing" city. All cities that are interested in hosting the Davis Cup tie had to submit bids to the USTA. All of those big cities listed did not.

Safina warns players may boycott WTA tourn next year

Why? Isn't that what the rankings are for? You don't play enough events you don't have the ranking points.

What's problem between Djok & Andy?

The whole reason he was asked to do it then was because he was doing it in the locker room it got caught on camera and was put on You Tube. So a lot of people saw him doing them there and I remember someone at the Australian Open asking him to do it then and he obliged as well. It wasn't a 1...

USO Ballboys/girls: why are they so...OLD...?

Because the only requirements are that the ball person has to be 14 years old and be able to fulfill the physical requirements, like throwing and running. They do try to take a certain percentage of younger people but with night matches it's easier to use older people because of child labor laws...

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

I wasn't making a personal attack. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about by continuously suggesting that putting tennis on in prime time opposite Monday Night Football is somehow a good idea. There really is no alternative but to place it at the time they did.
  21. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

You obviously don't know what you are talking about. What does Sunday have to do with the modern workweek?
  22. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

    What does that mean?
  23. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

What are you talking about? The reason they air the men's final at 4pm on Sunday is because they are hoping to get some of the football fans not to switch the channel and STILL the ratings are a small fraction of football.
  24. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

Obviously you don't live in the US. I guarantee if they air it prime time on a Monday it will easily get the least amount of ratings. I think the only show it might beat out is Gossip Girl.

    The Chair Umpire Can Challenge???

She can challenge if the line judge's view was obstructed and the umpire didn't see the point.
  26. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

It would ludicrous to put the final up against Monday Night Football.
  27. I

    The Chair Umpire Can Challenge???

They read the rule on the air and yes the chair umpire can challenge.
  28. I

    FED/Murray NOT under LIGHTS??

Men's championship has never been played under the lights. The women's match has been a night match for the past 6 years. What are you people complaining about exactly?

Arthur Ashe wasn't being honored that night.

    US Open made for Television?

Of course they are showing favortisim towards Americans. And Roddick did play a day match last Sunday because CBS had the coverage.
