    Darker orange strings.

-ill work on it, provably tomorrow -i forgot to go back and do the nylons/syn.guts and the multis -not much color variation in the past, in my multi category --most are tan, cream, black, and 1or2 red ones (from ashaway i think!?)

    Darker orange strings.

-its bright orange to me!, looks cool -its also a good/decent poly if your not a fan of RPM, itsa bit softer -def. not RED!?

    4G vs 4G Soft

-this is how i look at it: -if you like to play with low tension/s, go with 4g -if you like to string tight, go with 4G.soft -but some people like/prefer different feel at impact!?

Matching tension on two different racquets for demo purposes?

-you cold try, but i don tthink it will be as good as you think -do as you implied, example: h.speed at 50, and w,blade at 52, thats 2lbs above manufacturer bottom recommendation; or what ever more or less tension you were thinking of -but as long as both racquets have similar string and...

What did people used back in the 80s?

-no, 1.35mm is hard to get through the grommets on todays racquets -1.8mm maybe, if it even exists!? -even if he used 2.0mm string gauge, this would be very hard to tie off, on even wooden racquet port holes! -i tried 1.4mm string once, and i wont do it again, i could not get 2 strings to tie...

Set of Alu 1.25 coming up very short on an 18x20 (Head Speed Pro)

-this is provably a recent change by luxilon -i remember running out of luxilon string when doing 18/20s in the past (10/15+ years ago!?) -i eventually learned not to cut strings ,(as described above) when doing 18/20s -but even now, when i deal with a pack of string from luxilon, i am a bit...

Set of Alu 1.25 coming up very short on an 18x20 (Head Speed Pro)

-this is a sure fire way to never run out of string on the crosses! -on most 16/19s it is not really necessary, but the 18/20s do create the issue descrived above, specially with the european manufacturers that cut their strings at 6M and 12M length of string! -btw, babolat VS (natural gut...

Set of Alu 1.25 coming up very short on an 18x20 (Head Speed Pro)

-12m is not 40' -12m is about 39'4" -luxilon packs do run a bit short -most other brands give you about 42' -next time, as suggested above, dont cut strings until the mains are done -even if you are doing 2piece, only cut when the mains are done -you will then have gained extra string on the...

    String recycling?

-hope it works out -i just emailed to join -will report back with progress! -ive already been separating strings, plastics and cardboard on my own -been doing it for about 2 years now, -this programs will hopefully help with the string trash, abit more! -its crazy how much a club can generate...

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Wilson Clash v3

-yeah i remeber the black/gray/white "camo" look to it!! -it was something new for wilson, they made a hughe deal about it -i think they realised they lost that "formula" in the v2, so they are trying to go back and find it with the v3!?

    Old lead tape

-inhaling lead tape is not much of a concern on its own -you are creating lead pieces by scraping it off, not FINE PARTICLES that they become air born!? -lead "pieces" will break off and fall to the ground -doing this cleanup outdoors will mitigate the risk even further
  24. 1HBHfanatic

    String "shelf life"

-im not sure exactly, but i suspect that the "bonding agent" the manufacturers use to form/stick/glue/etc.. the filaments inside/outside of the string dry out!? -the more complex the string on the inside/outside, the more things will go wrong -ultimately why i think the "polys" last the longest...

Are Head Lynx and Yonex Poly Tour Pro the same string?

-both "comfortable" type of polys -yptp is abit more crisp, but not harsh -lynx is very comfortable -because lynx is so soft, it stretches faster, and goes dead quicker -yptp, is one of the better poly strings of recent years, or it was; above average tension maintenance, IMO

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

-second time out with this racquet -liked it a bit more this time -this time i strung it with yonex.poly.tour.rev, but 18g 1.20mm (only 18g string i had!) -i did this to bring DOWN the weight AND the swing weight! -the racquet is deceptively heavy.ish, but the swing weight is up there, slightly...

  29. 1HBHfanatic

The string always breaks near the knot (Yonex vcore 95 2023)

-teflon tubbing (or similar), is "a must have" for stringers -its cheap and 1 pack last a long time -teflon tubbing is different than individual grommet replacements -anyway, good luck finding the solution that works for you -btw, one other thing i do, is i grease/lubricate that grommet hole...

    String "shelf life"

-polys are ok, or would last the longest; so, not surpriced your polys lasted you this long -dont do that with multis or synthetic gut strings! -multis would deteriorate first, they dry out and snap with tension -syngut also dries out, but a bit slower than multis -im a stringer, so ive seen...
