Better Beginner Stringer: Klippermate or MiStringer?

I've been extremely happy with my Klippermate. Solid machine though not fast by any means. I purchased a couple starting clamps - one gamma and one alpha. I like the alpha better. I also have the stringway clamps. Faster to adjust than the Klippermate ones.

    String Zing

Oh yeah looks like a total copy of @Irvin idea. For full disclosure since I string just for myself and friends I ripped off the bead idea from @Irvin for the crosses. Easy on the fingers and reusable.

    Prince

I agree. I've used 4-1/2 without overgrip for years. When I borrow my friends 4-3/8 with an overgrip it feels almost the same.

    Klippermate

I've had my Klippermate for a few years now. I didn't know if I would like stringing and I was only going to string for myself and my friends. It has worked great and I have no regrets. I have dropped the weight a couple times because I did not have the string properly in the clamps. Just...

Stringing at the USTA National Campus in Florida

In the Klippermate video/instructions you do pull the first two crosses against a starting knot. I saw the method of using the starting clamp in a video by YULitle and you can do it on a Klippermate. Secure the top cross with a starting clamp. Pull on second cross and clamp (I pull on first...

Do you always hold the same side of your racquet "up"?

Exactly the same for me. I tend to spin the racquet in my hand so the side facing 'up' is totally random.

How to develop an accurate ball toss?

If it hasn't already been mentioned I found the Serve Progression videos done by FYB around 2008 to be useful when I need to get back to fundamentals and improve my serve.

Starting clamp. How important is it?

I don't like using a starting knot for my crosses so I always use a starting clamp. It has so many uses (I have two now) that I would advise any one stringing to pick one up.

    "Prince has issues"

I've used Prince racquets almost exclusively since I was a teen. When my second Pro 110 frame cracked I switched to a Wilson but the feel was not the same. I love their strings as well. Hope they continue on for a while longer.

Stringing Pattern for Wilson SPS racquet

Sorry folks I've been busy with work and business so I didn't have time to reply. Firstly thank you for all the feedback. I hope you can link to these pictures. The racquet is currently strung one piece. The mains actually start at the head (only 4 holes in the throat). The...

Stringing Pattern for Wilson SPS racquet

Does anyone have or know a link to the two piece pattern for a Wilson Superlight Power Series E/X Court Oversize racquet. The guy who gave it to me said it hasn't been used for years. Apparently he wasn't kidding.

    The oversize racquet club?????

Wow the Prince Pro 110. The first racquet I really fell in love with. Unfortunately I broke both of mine but I still play with a Prince OS racquet, the TT scream.

What is your favorite mid-priced multi right now?

Lightning XX is my string of choice. Gives me the right blend of power and control. I don't hit with much spin so that is not an issue for me. I'm also liking PPA the longer it is in my racket the better it seems to feel. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these.

    vibration dampener - necessary?

I also didn't find any significant difference in feel without a dampener. I use one because I like the look and it helps me differentiate my primary racket from my backup since they are both otherwise the same.

Extended length racquets not good for 1hbh?

I've hit with a 27.5" racket and a one handed backhand for years now. Does not feel any different to when I hit with a standard length racket it just takes practice. In fact, since I've been playing more regularly over the last year or so my backhand has never been better. I've also never...
