    Bicycle trailer

https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/topics/biking/best-bike-trailer The Schwinn would be a superior choice if the price is in line with your expectations. It will fit a Lobster Elite or SP scoop with the hopper inverted easily. I’d recommend not trying to transport the unit with the hopper in the...

    Stringing and Coronavirus

I think the main issue is that as facilities and groups shut down, there won’t be any racquets to string.

    What machine....?!

Consider either a Tourna 300-CS or Gamma 6004 with a Wise head. You don’t need a Wilson or a Ghost to produce a professional-level string product. Accurate tension and nominal string/racquet movement are the only true requirements.

Coming back to tennis after 5 years

No longer made. The journey into extreme low string counts is pretty much over, and with (several) good reasons. The 16x18 in the Prince models is still on the side of poor control IMO. I think eventually I‘ll revert to a 16X19.

Coming back to tennis after 5 years

I was going to recommend the Prince Tour 100 310 (what I play), or the new Phantom 100x 305, but they’re both 16x18, while the frames you’ve been using are more dense. If you’re looking for a more open pattern, it’s hard to beat the newer Prince 100 sq in offerings in my experience.

Coming back to tennis after 5 years

The BLX Steam 100 was very very good and highly regarded frame. It was fairly light, but not head-light. Not a high-spin racquet by current standard. The Blade is kind of like that... I would look at the Technifibre TF40 305. IMO a similar concept to the Steam, but a significantly better racquet...

Head Lynx Strings - tension maint issues

https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/reviews/LYNX16/LYNX16review.html The TW strings tests are an exceptional asset. We see that they have data for both the the 16 and 17 gauge Lynx. Generally, most players will find that the strings play (and change) as the numbers predict in the TWU comparison...

Head Lynx Strings - tension maint issues

The ‘thing’ about polyester-based strings is that they have a limited amount of elasticity, though additives and creative manufacturing has broadened the window in recent years. When you string them at higher tensions, you’re effectively using some portion of their elasticity budget before...

    Strings/tension for "game improvement" racquet?

The larger the head, the higher the power level, generally. That's why they're often reccomended for beginners and older players, rather than the larger contact area itself. If you put in a standard multi or syngut and play against harder hitters, keeping the ball in play will likely be...

    Shoe trends

Advances, or at least changes, in tennis shoe design tends to follow running shoes. This is fairly expected in good part as many of the leading tennis shoe brands also make running shoes. Advances in design, materials, and manufacturing techniques can be easily and cheaply transferred from...

Poly strings stiffening up the more you hit

The term is plastic deformation. Most materials have a fairly well defined fatigue limit, where a given amount of stress, and therefore deformation, results in the material returning to its original form when the stress is removed, regardless of the number of stress cycles. That’s called...

Arm friendly racquet for older player

Given how you describe yourself and the state of your playing ability, focusing racquet selection on RA and head size wouldn’t necessarily be optimal. They don’t address your weak points, and will act more to maintain you in your current situation rather than providing a path to move forward...

Head Lynx Tour 17g vs RPM Blast 17g

My experience has been that their play and life duration characteristics are fairly similar, but their feel and how they age are not so much. You may want to try both. IMO/ Blast has a basic elasticity that kills shock and feels slightly lively when not strung at high tensions. Lynx tour is...

Head Lynx Tour 17g vs RPM Blast 17g

I also play tested Lynx Tour and typically use 17g Blast in a Prince 100/310, which is 16x18. My experience has also been that Blast has somewhat more, and more progressive spin characteristics, and overall control, which is at least partially a function of spin. The 17g Blast is higher energy...

    Scratch or crack?

With a CF structure, a break will change its resonance frequency. Take a metal object, such as a small wrench, and tap the racquet along the area on the other side of the strings parallel to the area in question. It should give a consistent pitch. Repeat across the area with the scratch/break...

Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour

@USPTARF97 I agree completely. This wasn’t an extreme play impact/shear situation. My impression though is that the stringer has strung literally thousands of racquets, with essentially the same level of string handling care without significant issue. The appearance is that there appears to be...

Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour

I don’t alway break strings, but when I do - It’s the Silver 7 Tour Note the break is virtually identical to post #383. While I didn’t string this particular racquet, it was done by a known source that I’ve had no issues with previously. IMO - note the twists in the strings adjacent to...

We are trying to build the perfect tennis socks...any advice?

Your socks appear quite conventional- low volume, low padding, moderately slippery. They will likely fit best with the current convention shoe type, which is generally low volume and narrow, particularly in the forefoot in an attempt to reduce slippage. The next generation of tennis shoes will...

    Hyper G Soreness Advice

    1. Possible but not likely. HyperG is far from a single material polyester material. It doesn’t tend to loose its inherent elasticity with use to a significant degree, particularly for ‘normal’ players. 2. possibly, but will substantially change the power to spin ratio, and it will play...

Wise 2086 Series 14 Gripper Cleaning Maintenance

Your bearings are contaminated. You need to clean the contaminant and provide a small degree of lubrication. There’s no need to buy a new unit or take the current one apart. What you’re experiencing is normal and expected. You don’t need or want a high viscosity lubricant, as the forces involved...

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Head Experimental Tour co-poly!!!

Little update - this string is still in the DR98, which is used as a backup/doubles unit. The strings have about 20 hours on them, which is about the point where many polys start having issues for me. They are still completely playable. There is a slight power reduction and increase in...

Pure Strike 16x19 - what is that about? Lol

The first generation was Bab’s attempt at copying a Head Prestige. It was moderately successful. Faster/quicker than a Prestige but with less control/plow. Feel was somewhere between a Prestige and a ‘standard’ Babolat. The second (Project 1) threw all allusions to that away. The Project one is...

    "50% is a frame, and 50% is a string"

The basic problem with his logic is that without a frame, most strings play quite poorly. While strings offer a significant tuning mechanism, they can’t be a primary component in the same manner as the golf club head and shaft for instance.

    counterfeit pure aero 2019

The one with the lighter coloring, and I assume the uneven handle internals, may indeed be fake, though a good one. The tip-off is often that the material itself is different/cheaper/heavier.
