    My strokes on camera

Good stuff! Yeah I would like to involve the ball straight down on court at some point too, they look tough. :) One of the links that is now down had Luis Mediero feeding from the opposite court side. I think it went something like forehand xcourt hit, backhand xcourt hit, forehand dtl or...

Pro Staff Classic Tour Edition specs and variations

I started off with a 4 3/8ths stick, felt really good apart from volleys, then I got a number of 4 1/2 so switched to them. I always add an overgrip on top, and felt there was not quite as much looseness in my grip and wrist with the 4 1/2 + overgrip, but I've stuck with that for a year and a...

    My strokes on camera

Keep up the good work Tennis Balla, I think it can be a very positive thing to practice in a relaxed manner. It shows you are comfortable with your strokes. Some higher tempo training is advisable too but I am sure you already know and do that. On a slightly different note, in a thread I made...

It had lost its grip size sticker from the side. But when I removed the dirty old grip (not original leather,) there was a alrge '5' on the pallet so presumably it was a Grip 5 or 4 5/8ths. Tbh it felt even larger than that!

Pro Staff Classic Tour Edition specs and variations

Thanks again for the info big bang. One of my best mates has the 6.1 version of the Classic (got a feeling its a white butt cap though) so hopefully will snag that from him and hit/compare the two. In fact, when I took up tennis it was his frame I used as a reference point, so I have him to...

When I bought the stick it had a really tattered grip so I removed it. Sadly, the seller had told me the wrong grip size; two sizes too big :-/ So that's why it had to go, otherwise I would have kept it.

The only 16x18s I have are Classics with HPS 6.1s PJ but they are China buttcap, so will probably not have quite the same feel of the Taiwan original you speak of. Will have to give them a spin again sometime soon though. Finding 16x18s seems to be easier here in Europe than 18x20, must have...

Cool, had no idea a thread had my sticks at the top of it :) Can't really add much to what has been said already regarding the pro stock.

What's your take on which is best? I have PSC, HPS and n6.1, so far I have not had particularly more affection for one or other. Sometimes I think the n6.1 is easier to use but I don't know how much that is in the mind. PJ wise though, it's the PSC everytime, especially with the Tour writing...

Do you use a player book?

Played a good match against our club champ at the weekend, he tore me apart for the first set but it was an excellent learning experience! Great thing was I started to understand I was giving up too much of the deuce court for him to attack, and my defensive forehand was not up to scratch...

Pro Staff Classic Tour Edition specs and variations

Does anyone know if there was a Pro Staff Classic 6.1 Tour Edition released in a 16x18 string pattern? I had a 18x20 and prefer them but am curious about this. Also, I am wondering if the Tour Edition had slightly different specs from the other PSC 6.1s such as a higher weight? I never...

Yeah still haven't hit properly with my 6.0 95 yet. Haven't hit with any variation of the 90sqs, don't think my game would stand up to it quite yet. I do think the 6.1s have helped my game develop though.... our club captain complimented me on my long swing from take back to follow through...

    improving your return of serve

Many of the top returners in todays game, including Hewitt, Nalbandian and Murray use a step into the court leading to the split step. This makes their weight move forward towards the net, which aids consistancy in your return. Try practicing this step and split, imagining a server has hit to...

Do you use a player book?

I have thought about using a camera. At my work we use a make called Go Pro which is a very small and light camera with good recording quality. It could attach to the fence or even is adaptable enought to fit on a net post. I'll need to save up but think it will be a big help. Yeah, I am my...

Do you use a player book?

Thanks, its kinda fun, so hopefully I can keep it together. I also record all the scores in competitive and friendly matches so I can, in theory plot, progress. I've got a game tomorrow against our clubs best player, the scorelines have not looked pretty... I've taken 4 games off him in 3...

Do you use a player book?

Last month I created a player book to help me improve my game and reflect on the successes and difficulties I have playing various opponents. My book includes a section on recently played or up and coming opponents, and separated into columns with their overall game style, strengths, weaknesses...

Nice, very nice! (The very nice is for the Danger Mouse towel!) I just got one of these, a little chipped here and there, but looking forward to taking out on the court a little more once my league matches settle down and have more chill time. I only had about 10 minutes with it so no time to...

Sexing up my Pro Staff Classic 18x20s

Thanks PVAudio, hilarious name, I had not heard of that string before, very thin gauge too. Do you think a 1.16 gauge string would have decent durability in crosses? I felt the Silverstring at 1.20 was pushing it!

What are your burning problems of tennis?

I have a timing issue on my serve that interferes with my racquet drop, robbing me of some power and spin. I've been trying to lose it for the past year! Slowly getting there, but until it is gone I will never be happy with my serve. It has penetrated my psyche so deep that I dream about it...

Sexing up my Pro Staff Classic 18x20s

For the last 1 ½ years I have been using a hybrid of MSV Hex 1.23 in the Mains and Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex 1.30 in the crosses of my Pro Staff Classic 6.1 18x20s. I recently had a practice hit with a friends stick that had Lux Rough and Tecnifibre Biphase in it. I felt like the balls dwelt...

    Wilson Friction Fighters

Apologies for bringing up an old thread, but I didn't see the point of making a new one. Many posters here say Babolat Elasto Cross are the best string saver, as they are higher quality than the Gamma etc. Are these Wilson Friction Fighters comparable to the Babs? I can get them for cheaper.

Review of the Wilson Ksix One 95 18*20 CLASSIC paintjob

It should be this - I use it for my Classics, Hypers and nCodes, they are all the same mold. Instructions: KSix-One 95 18x20 String Tension : 53-63 lbs. String Length : 37' (ss:10") or (20'M's and 17' X's) String Pattern : 18 x 20 Start Main : at Head. Mains skip 8H, 10H, 8T and 10T...

My initial impressions and review of the Wilson BLX 95 18X20 racquet

Bad luck on the sticks, I'm sure they'll come good soon and you'll be pleasantly suprised. I think the PJ is a grower. Thanks for last reply btw, now I just need to get my wallet out, i'm gonna hybrid VS Team mains with Lux Ruff cross & Hyperion cross on a couple of sticks. Before I do that...

    Luxilon Adrenaline

All quiet on the Adrenaline front..... anyone else got any opinions on this string? My plan is to use a nat gut mains and am looking for a poly cross that maintains tension stability (as well as polys can) and also gives a little bit spin from cross ala Lux Rough.
