    Yonex Blowing Up

I believe Yonex, at that time, was considered more of a racquet that women used. Yonex back then had sort of a wonky type head design so a lot of people that I knew tried them but did not like them.

The search for my own 'OG' tennis string. The 81 tennis strings playtest

Seems like all the " new" strings are a lot of hype not transferred to the actual court side when you play.

    Yonex Blowing Up

I HATE the fact that a lot of racquet companies seem not to make a grip 5 in their racquet lineup.

    Yonex Blowing Up

I have noticed that QC of Yonex racquets has been very good. The specs seem to be very consistent as well.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

Quadro Twist is a very good string. I have been using that as a cross string for a number of years. Very nice playing string.

Latest techniques and feedback in shoulder replacement surgery

Yep used that technique for many, many, many years. A grade school I went to was right down the street from where I lived so I was there a lot during the summer or after school hours. The wall never loses.

Latest techniques and feedback in shoulder replacement surgery

I have my own ball machine I bought 25+ years ago. I use my ball machine just for what you mentioned , just hitting not running around. I used it for recovering from different surgeries and injuries over the years. I worked odd shifts so I had no one that could hit with me when I was free. So I...

The search for my own 'OG' tennis string. The 81 tennis strings playtest

I can't stand strings that lose tension and playability fast- saw within 5-6 hours of play. That, to me, is such a waste of time and money. Seems like you are always restringing or getting ready for a new string job. I will sacrifice some string playabilty for longivity. i must have touch and...

Low, low tensions. 30lbs feels great. 20lbs pretty good, too

WOW, 35 years old. I had not thought about this. Seems like it has not been around that long yet it seems like it has. if that makes sense.

Yonex VCore Pro 97 HD review...

The HD's are great racquets. I bought one just to try out, LOVED it and bought three more. Great playing racquets. I agree, I like the PJ as well

Moving to natgut - Raise tension a bit?

That was my experience as well. The sweet spot seemed to be the 58-60 lbs. Anything less makes the racquet like a ball launcher.

What does using a heavy racquet say about you?

I played a lot of singles over the years and also belonged to a tennis club that had clay courts as well. First question- What do you consider "super heavy" racquets? I played with two modified racquets at 14.1oz racquets during those years.

What does using a heavy racquet say about you?

I enjoy using a heavier racquet. If I use a lighter racquet I get no plow through or depth to my shots. A heavier racquet keeps me into a offensive position not a defensive one.

    The gut/poly thread

I prefer the softer feeling of Luxilon once it gets broken in. I think I get better feedback and accuracy with Luxilon.

    Völkl C10 Pro Club!

I have had a few racquets I used just for doubles over the years. If it works for you in doubles, use it that way. Until you find a good racquet to use for both singles and doubles. As you well know there are many, many, many racquets to try out. I thought the Volkl C10 Pro Tour had more...

I'm with you. I prefer white tennis shoes over all the colors they seem to be coming out with.

Latest techniques and feedback in shoulder replacement surgery

Great to hear that your recovery is going so well. I agree with you I would be cautious at doing anything , tennis wide, until at least 16 weeks if not later. Better safe and extremely sorry. Don't rush things. Slow, steady, and easy wins the race to getting back to doing things you love doing...
