I think today's final was a prime example of where men's tennis is going.

Hard to define that really. But what I would say, is for offense, Del Potros shots are harder to pull off. They're flatter, hitting with a smaller frame. You expect, for tennis, that to be aggressive and hit winners, you shouldn't be hitting a percentage shot. You would sacrifice spin to hit a...

Completely agree, he definitely deserved the win. Just commenting on the trend I'm seeing.

I think today's final was a prime example of where men's tennis is going.

I think everyone watching today realizes the advantages of a more spin heavy game in modern tennis. There's zero reason to approach net other than a put away. Djokovic was landing slices long because anything remotely short against a full poly user will immediately get put away. Hit a hard, high...

I would add Soderling to the discussion of best player to reach a final.

Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) [5] vs. Victoria Azarenka (BLR) [2]

That bagel was well deserved. Happy to see Aga step up like this in a major. Hope she makes the final.

    Is Söderling Grand slam material?

I think he definitely would have a shot. No doubt in my mind he'd be the number 3 player in the world right now, in front of Ferrer. Probably making deep QF in slams, a few SF's and get a select choice of slam final opportunities. Its a shame he's out, he was my favorite player to watch.

2013 US Open Men's SF: Novak DJOKOVIC[1] vs. Stanislas WAWRINKA[9]

Anybody notice how slow this court has been playing? Not a single fast court left on tour.

2013 US Open Men's SF: Novak DJOKOVIC[1] vs. Stanislas WAWRINKA[9]

If Wawrinka loses this it will because of his low first serve %. He could have won in straights if he had just served well in the 2nd set.

US Open 2013 Final - Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Richard Gasquet

So who ya got? I think Gasquet might get a set or two but ultimately Stan will hold on to raise the trophy.

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

He's actually been very mentally tough. Saved 0-40 in both the first and second sets. Played some really great points against Nadal. The problem is he starting gassing out in the third set. He just doesn't seem to have the physicality to win best of five in this match. Maybe he'll catch a...

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

Kohl has been playing break points perfectly though. Nadal's doing pretty well from the baseline, it's just his first serve that's letting him down.

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

I just became a Phillip Kohlschreiber fan tonight. PERFECT S&V to save 0-40 twice? Against Nadal? Ballsy stuff, you have to admit.

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

No, no breaks in the first. Both playing well, but Phillip is striking the ball exceptionally well. Flashes of AO 08'.

THAT'S how you play Nadal. Perfect.

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

Regardless of how this tiebreak goes, if Phillip keeps playing like that this is going to be a real match. Great stuff from both so far.

[2] Rafael NADAL (ESP) vs [22] Philipp KOHLSCHREIBER (GER)

That was an incredible point by Khol there. AO 08' form on that point.
