Which string for Wilson Steam 99S and 105S?

I have Genesis Hexonic 16L in my two Steam 105s frames. One is at 60 lbs. the other is at 62. I see no notching after a month of hitting twice per week for over two hours each time. Hexonic is super durable and imparts a ton of spin! I have added weight at 12 o'clock for even more topspin...

Yonex RDiS 100 Mid advice needed (Jagman especially)

I currently play with the RDIS 100 MP, not the mid. If you want to try an awesome hybrid which offers both excellent power and control, try Gamma Zo Tour 17 in the mains at 51 and Technifibre NRG2 17 at 54 in crosses. It's very arm friendly and durable too. In my other RDIS 100 MP I have...

NRG: New Racket Day (Yonex RDiS 100 Mid)

I have two RDIS 100 MPs. Both are now strung with Kirschbaum Hybrix Power 17 at 51/54. It is an awesome hybrid that provides great power, spin and control. Plus an all red stringbed in this frame looks great. I love X-one and had it in 17 gauge in one of my RDIS 100s but it didn't last...

    Best 2009 racquet

Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 and Head Youtek Radical MP. Both are awesome control racquets with some pop and a great amount of spin.

    Kobra Tour, 2 Yonex, 2 Babolat...reviews appreciated

Although the Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 is my racquet of choice, I also have a Kobra Tour in my bag. It's great if I want to keep the ball deeper with loopier topspin shots on both sides. It also flattens the ball out really well and you can hit lots of winners with it. It definitely does not have...

Do yourself a favor and go with the standard 16x19 4D 300. I had both the standard and the Tour for a little while and ended up trading the Tour for another standard one. I found the Tour to be a bit sluggish. Even though it was supposedly more headlight, it felt more head heavy than the...

I tend to only have problems shanking returns of serve on especially windy days. Before I added lead to the racquet I had some issues with hitting some shots into the net. Once I added lead at 9, 10, 12, 2 and 3 (2 grams at each), that solved the problem and I also serve much better with the...

I have 2 grams of lead at the following locations: 9, 10, 12, 2, 3. On another I am going to try 6 grams of lead at 9 and 6 grams at 3. I'm not quitting the club...still a big fan of my Dunlops!!

Oh heck no! I'm not leaving the club. I love my 4D 300s. I am just testing the Kobra Tour and I'm not sold on it just yet. If I pick one up it may be a racquet I go to if I get tired and need a bit more pop than the 300 offers. The 4D 300 is so solid. I may just get one restrung at a...

Hi everyone. I traded my 300 Tour back for my old 4D 300. I prefer the maneuverability of the 300 standard and the added spin I get with it. I also made the mistake of taking out a demo of the Wilson Kobra Tour (Tsonga's stick)...wow, what a racquet. It really suits my game because I can...

I really liked Pro Supex Big Ace 1.22 in mains, Gosen Super Micro 16 in crosses. Awesome control and spin. Unfortunately poly doesn't like me and I had some hand issues so I switched to Wilson NXT Tour 17 at 57 lbs. I serve like a beast with this NXT Tour 17...it gives me so much confidence...

You know what's strange? Even with all that added lead tape to the upper hoop (10 grams total) the AG 4D 300 swings easier than the 300 4D Tour. It is more head heavy than the 300 Tour but somehow swings easier.

Here's an update. I own both the AG 4D300 Tour and the AG 4D 300. I played in a doubles tournament this past weekend and used the 4D 300 standard, not the tour. My serves were extrememly solid and were a weapon. The lightness of the racquet came in handy for doubles play. I do have 2 grams...

Maybe I'll buy Klip Legend 16 or Tonic 16 and try it at 57 lbs. I currently have Wilson NXT Tour 17 in my 300 4D. I traded the other 300 4D for a 300 Tour strung with Dunlop m-Fil strings and it is now my primary racquet. I just love the 300 Tour even with the cheap Dunlop strings. Hopefully...

Hi CJ...thanks for the message. My hand feels much better after hitting the last two days with a demo of the Aerogel 300 Tour. I've been icing it and taking Aleve liquid gels and using Tiger balm on it. It feels so much better and the swelling is down. I am going to restring one of my 300 4D...

I have been taking liquid Aleve and swear by it. The icing also helped. Last night I put Tiger balm on my knuckle and shoulder and this morning woke up with very little pain at all. Although Tiger balm kind of stinks, I think it really works. I also use Biofreeze on my aches and pains...

Time off? What's that??? Seriously...I am going to take five days off after this week. Will be away M-F of next week for a business trip and will not be taking my racquets with me. I tried the 300 Tour tonight and it seemed to be much flexier than the regular 4D 300 (16x19). I...

Thanks...I am going to stick with multis for now since I am having knuckle pain. Maybe once I am better I will try a hybrid again with Cyber Blue or Black Code but at a very low tension. Perhaps 50/53 or even lower.

Thanks! I am going to try my current strings (high grade multis) at a lower tension...maybe 54 or 55. Right now I have them at 57. I had a poly hybrid at 52/55 in it before and I think that may have caused the initial knuckle injury. Poly is just too jarring for me I guess...

OK...I need some advice. I am starting to have some hand pain (on my middle finger knuckle) with the AG 4D 300s (16"x19"). I have both strung at 57 with Technifibre x-one biphase 17 and Wilson NXT Tour 17 which are relatively soft strings. I leaded up the racquets to 11.8 oz. but I took some...

Racer, I'm using 17 gauge multis in both of my 4D 300s. Technifibre X-one biphase and Wilson NXT Tour. Both are great. I think the T'fibre has more pop and pockets the ball better. The Wilson NXT Tour is less powerful but for some reason I serve better with it. I have added lead to both...

I definitely agree with Redflea who said to focus on technique. But I also think that perhaps the lower tension will help him impart more spin on the ball since he said that when he switched to the Prince racquet with strings at a lower tension his topspin returned. I just feel like when I hit...

    Aerogel 300 Appreciation Society

Hmmm, I think you should lower the tension a bit and try a poly/syn gut hybrid. Maybe try a spiky poly in the mains like PS Blue Gear at 57 and PSGD in crosses at 60? The textured poly will give you a bit more topspin and your shots will jump more. Your arm may be just getting tired as well...

Hey there...where did you put the weight? I added 20 grams on the handle and 2 grams at 10 and 2 grams at 2 and now I get better pace and depth on all of my shots. The racquet weighs in at 11.7 oz. On my second racquet I added a little less weight to the handle (16 grams) and 2 grams at...

I prefer 16 x 19 string patterns since I can generate more spin with them as opposed to 18 x 20 racquets. That's why I chose the 4D 300. I leaded it up to about 11.7 oz. by adding weight to the handle and at 2 and 10. If you like 16 x 19 racquets you can't go wrong with the 4D 300. Just...

Not sure if this will help but I have the 4D 300 (non-tour) and experience no vibration at all. I do have a vibration dampener on the racquet and 2 grams at 10 and 2 grams at 2. The racquet hits so solidly now with the added weight in the upper hoop and with about 20 grams on the handle, I...

Hey BobFL and everyone.... Just got done hitting for 90 minutes with my leaded up Aerogel 4D 300. I put about 20 grams of lead on the handle and 2 grams at 2 and 2 grams at 10. Let me just say that I have just uncovered this racquets true potential with the added weight. I was able to hit...

I use Technifibre x-one biphase 17 at 57 lbs on one racquet. This is the one I put the added weight on. The other racquet has Wilson NXT Tour 17 at 57 lbs. I added 8 inches of 1/4" tape at 3 and at 9 like another user suggested. I played well with that set-up this past weekend in the wind...
