    Court Speed

I think the best surface for servebots is Clay. The fact that they never win on clay has nothing to do with it. It's just because they are always out of shape during RG. ;)

Federer : "Halle has been my best hunting ground"

The US Open and the AO changed surfaces in the past, so we can't count them in the GOAT debate either, right?

Difficult Choices - Best on grass out of Nadal, Djokovic and Murray?

Djokovic+Murray+Nadal in Wimbledon have fewer titles than Federer alone. :D
  4. L

I like how fed ducks the grass court tourney with actual competition.

Yep, and their roof is one of the best I've ever seen. It manages to close in something like 15 secondes, while in Wimbledon you need to wait for 10 minutes.

Federer : "Halle has been my best hunting ground"

It's exactly the opposite... It's the only big tournamenet playing indoors. And you want to change it because Nadal can't make it... What would you have told Fed fans in 08 saying "RG needs to be played on grass to mean anything in the GOAT debate", stupid right?

Federer : "Halle has been my best hunting ground"

Actually, if Halle had been a M1000, I think Roger would have won it already 10 or 11 times. He skipped it in 2009 to rest, and he tanked 2 or 3 times when he felt he was a bit tired. He wouldn't have done that if it was a 1000.

    Federer News

Ah okay. In the French media, they were talking about 170 grass wins for Connors, that's why I thought he was closer.

    Federer News

He was at the beginning of Stuttgart. Now he's only one match away to share Connors record, and two to have the stand alone record.
  9. L

For those who like grass court tennis, what's your main reason?

Stuttgart court are not really that fast. Pace index varies between 35 and 36. It's still considered medium, not even medium-fast!

Andy Murray, qualifications or seeded player at Wimbledon?

Hello, Does someone know if Andy Murray will be seeded at Wimbledon. His ATP ranking makes him eligible to go through the qualifications (he'll get a WC of course), but then, is he eligible to be seeded, since the seeding system at Wimbledon will earn him 75% of the 2000 points for his 2016 win?

Which of the following players would you bet $5,000 that they win another slam?

Fedr. But I won't. Each time I try to bet on Fed, he loses, so I won't anymore. :-)

Federer's Nuclear Forehand Encyclopedia is back with Part I

He has less power with the new racket, but he will miss fewer shots.
  14. L

Has Fed already qualified for WTF

Yes he is. If he were not to win a match this season, he would still be top 20, and therefore qualify with the slam win.

how many masters and slams have you attended ???

Paris Bercy 2014-2015 Roland Garros 2015 WTF 2015

Is Indian Wells a real-life test of Federer's ability to play on clay ?

The most important point is not the speed of the court on clay. It's the bounce. Roger is hitting his shots so early, that he will miss a lot of shots, due to the random bounce, touching the ball with the frame of the racquet, like he used to much more with the 90 on the BH side.

Nadal out of IW and Miami

SF+SF is enough for him to never drop the #1 until at least Rome (and probably until Wimbledon)

#1 ranking scenarios after IW and Miami

No, Fed needs to get at least to the semifinals to keep the #1, it's even easier!

This little guy is also whispering in my ear, even though I know it's impossible at his age.

    Federer looking forward to retirement!

A lot of tennis fans do not like to watch Rafa's style of play. I can't stand his manner on court, and I don't like his style of play. But a lot of girl here just like to watch him because of his looks.

Which Fedr got you the most excited?

I was desperate at 3-1, and even more after all those wasted BP. But then it was the greatest tennis moment I'll ever live. I have watched this 5th like ten times, I'm still so emotional about it each time.

Federer confirmed NOT playing Dubai 2018

Why do people think going to Dubai has anything to do with going to RG?? There is 2 months between the end of Miami and the start of RG. It's enough for a real break, even if he wants to enter RG. He's defnitely not playing Dubai, and will try to defend both sunshine double masters.
  25. L

Fedr's level in '17/18 not different from '14/15

2015, Federer was still choking (ie US2015), in 2017/18 he's a lot tougher mentally (ie 5th AO set)

Will Nadal be the player of the 10s and Federer the player of the 2nd half of the 10s?

Federer is the player of the 00s. For the 10s, it's a three-way decade with the big 3. (5 GS for Fed, 9 for Nadal, 11 for Djokovic) Let's wait till the end of the decade, but chosing one of these 3 to have been the dominant the 10s is wrong.

    ATP Rankings are up!

Because MC is not a mandatory event. Federer's 18 is 8 M1000, 4 GS, Halle, Stuttgart, Basel, Dubai, Rotterdam and WTF. Djokovic's 15 is 8 M1000, 4GS, and 3 small tournamenets he played.
  28. L

Fed fans only: Should Roger play clay?

I don't agree with this. I think he should play for a last run at the French when he still can go deep. When in his last year, he shouldn ot play for play, especially clay, and go for one last title instead of a 2R farewall GS.
  29. L

Which Clay Masters 1000 is best for Federer to play??

If he does play a M1000 on clay, it will be Rome, it's the best prep for RG. But if he's playing clay, I think he would play only RG. And if fact, I believe he won't play clay anyway.

The first time Federer defended a major was Wimb 03-04, so he has defended a major 14 years apart.
