yonex ezone ai 98 or yonex ezone dr 98 - does ist matter?

I'd say both are maneuverable and quick for sure. When I make contact, my XI plows through and remains stable while my AI flutters a bit.

yonex ezone ai 98 or yonex ezone dr 98 - does ist matter?

I'm falling in love with the XI98 > AI98! It's not uncomfortable but it feels like the stiffest in the bunch. Feels solid, has great pop & plow! I do have two AI98s though and still enjoy them but they feel lower powered, muted, tad more flexible & less stable. Needed more customization as...

Yonex players - what are you using?

I'm loving the swing of the SV95, so much that I'd love to buy one. But I just traded a TFight 315 LTD and got near brand new EZONE Xi 98 strung with YPTP. I feel like it's a godsend! So now I'm stuck :(

    Head GRad MPs

XTPP has awesome plow and the swing feels nice! From my experience in owning and selling an XT Prestige S, it was as @n8dawg6 said, very low-powered and to me, the sweetspot was tiny as well. Had a board-y feel to me too. Have you tried the older 16x19 pure strike? I went from the G Rad MP to...

    Head GRad MPs

I ditched mine a while back. I played well with it but I started to get pushed around with heavier hitters and my elbow would flare up. If it does you good, no real point in switching unless you want to try others out :)

    Ai100 and Pure Strikes

@dadozen no worries! Again, I'd rather you give them both a try if you get the chance to fully compare for yourself, because my opinion is a less popular take on the two models. Like @charless, I'm just pretty happy with the black/red model that there's no switch necessary for me (but the...

    Ai100 and Pure Strikes

@dadozen good question! I would like to say that my game evolved over the past couple of years, hopefully for the better. I initially loved the feel of my IG Radicals but I yearned for more power and bigger sweetspot (I'm most definitely a smaller, leaner guy). I did not have any free power and...

    Ai100 and Pure Strikes

In some way, I've hit with each of the racquets you've mentioned. AI100 felt wonderful and I'd be willing to switch but it had too much power for me. Tour G 310 what crisper than an IG Radical MP that I used to play with but I hit with no power. Right now, I actually play with the red/black...

Too boost or not to boost?

Hmmm, perhaps an alternative route? There are sale options for past year's Barricade Boosts, starting at $75. I've had the 2015 and they have been my most comfortable tennis shoe ever. However, although I didn't need to break the shoe in, I did need to "break myself" into these shoes. It was...

    T Fight 315?

Sorry for the week-long hiatus! I've primarily used IG Radical MPs, and have recently dabbled with an AI98 and settled now with the older 16x19 Pure Strike. The TFight 315 18m can be a blessing to me but the flex, low power, and especially the contact is perhaps what's throwing me off. Does...

    T Fight 315?

I would also love to hear a comparison! I haven't been able to mesh well with my 18m unfortunately so it may be time to move on back to what was working well for me.

You went from Youtek/IG radical MP to Graphene? What are your thoughts after a few months?

I gotcha! A demo is always a way to go and you can minimally add some lead at 3&9 to keep it's stability. Have you tried the Textreme 100P? Perhaps that's another (still slightly heavier) alternative you can look at that offered more forgiveness and easy power.

You went from Youtek/IG radical MP to Graphene? What are your thoughts after a few months?

I tried moving from an IG to a Graphene. I'm a smaller, slender guy so effortless racquet power would be welcomed. With the Graphene I got more spin and slightly more power, felt whip-friendly. But the stiffness had a toll on my wrist and definitely felt like it needed more stability and plow...

Graphene Touch Speed Pro vs XT Prestige S

But if willing to lead the XTPS up, playing with a stock Prestige Pro would probably be a better choice for sure. It's got a lovelier feeling when striking the sweetspot, more solid feeling, and has get plow, but with modern stiffness and a little more weight.

Graphene Touch Speed Pro vs XT Prestige S

I can only speak on some experience with an XT Prestige S. It's a boardy, hallow feel and low power completely turned me away. Maybe I just couldn't hone anything but the sweetspot felt small for its head size. Even when struck perfectly, I didn't feel much reward. It felt like a lot was missing...

Similar racquet to Blade 98 18x20 but lighter

The YOUTEK/IG Radical MPs are a solid, yet lighter choice in stock form! Graphene and beyond for the Radical series don't seem to cut it since they completely changed the line from there.

Head IG Radical MP Limited Edition

Unfortunately, there was no specific cap grommet made for the IG Radical MP. The YOUTEK/MicroGel Prestige Mid Plus Grommet (in stock!) can fit but takes time and a lot of patience to get flush. I still had two holes that just didn't quite go through. About a 1 mm of the frame is still exposed...

yonex tour g 310 vs babolat old pure strike 16*19

Hmmm, have you tried lowering string tension or using different strings? Or adding weight to your racquet? Could be the easier alternative!

yonex tour g 310 vs babolat old pure strike 16*19

I'd say if you can try out the racquets mentioned above, you should demo them first to get the feel. To me, the Duel G 310 felt more dampened and had extra power, compared to the Tour G which was crisp and low power. You can also try the 18x20 Strikes!

yonex tour g 310 vs babolat old pure strike 16*19

Any reason for these two specific racquets? EDIT: Personally, I found the Tour G 310 to be very underpowered and sluggish for 310 gram, but it was comfortable. There was a good blend of power and control on the older 16x19 Pure Strike. If you can provide your own power, the G310 isn't a bad...

    Tecnifibre Tfight 315 LTD customization?

^indeed, should check out that thread! For my 18x20, I replaced the leather with a cushioned Volkl grip + added 4 grams @ 12 + went poly/syn gut hybrid. Gives me everything I need for plow, stability, and maneuverability!

Head IG Radical MP Limited Edition

Not specifically designed for it, but I was able to slap on Microgel Prestige MP cap grommets on an IG Radical MP. To me, just getting them flush was just a PITA :( but could be an alternative!

Head IG Radical MP Limited Edition

Most definitely! I gotcha. For me, in the long run, I can adore it but can't seem to want to play with it. I strung it with Klip Legend (my first time stringing with gut) and thought of playing with it more, even bought head tape for it! But I have two others that can absorb the wear and tear...

Head IG Radical MP Limited Edition

I snagged a 3/8's from perhaps the same guy from the auction site! IT'S GORGEOUS! :) I liked it too much that I didn't want to cause the frame any pain whatsoever.

Graphene XT Prestige S - What the Radical should of been!

I bought and then ended up selling mine. Such a pretty racquet but when I struck the sweetspot, I felt like I wasn't rewarded much. I ended up doing what @n8dawg6 did and leaned in the corner for a while. When I picked it up a month or two later and restrung it with Isospeed Cream, it woke up...
