Has anyone tried this hybrid? How did it work for you? Would most players opt to put the co-poly on the mains?

Getting tension right on the 1st two mains

This is just what I need. I also checked out YULitle's excellent video. His method is very similar but slightly different since he releases the clamp near the tension head with no tension at all before pulling tension again. Thank you very much.

Getting tension right on the 1st two mains

I seem to have a problem getting the first two or three mains to have consistant tension. I secure the first main on the right side (far side from tension head), and then pull tension on the first left side main. The I do the next left side main. After clamping off the second left side...

    Those new Babolat contour grips

I tried a babolat demo racket with a contour grip. I loved it for groundstrokes, but my net shots suffered as I couldn't grip the racket securely. Anyone else have this problem at the net, and did you get used to it after playing with it for a while?

    Stringing with GUT - adjustments

I have always played with good quality multi-filiments, but last week I tried a full set of natural gut for the first time. The feel of the ball hitting the strings was incredible. However, I had no control. The ball would go deep a lot. Does this mean that I should string the natural gut at...

which string is most similar to nat gut?

The Gamma Professional works great for me. I have used a lot of multis and so far this one is best for me. My next string job will be the Gamma Pro Spin, and the one after that I'll finally try a full NG job. So, at this point I can't comment on the comparison of multi vs NG.

    Crosses Weaving???

4 or more cross errors every time? Wow, that's a lot of errors to happen EVERY time. Is your lighting in the room sufficient? Have you had your vision checked? If it's not these, then you just need to focus and concentrate more. Good luck.

I've never tried this, but maybe you could use a hair dryer on the strings before you play your match.

    YouTube Videos - How To

Tying the knots Great videos. Great string machine. I have a question on your video showing how to tie knots. I tried this method, and it made me a little nervous pulling this hard on the knot. I was afraid that the main string could get damaged by pulling this hard on the knot. Is there...

    bad string job?

I probably shouldn't try to mimic a constant pull machine since all of my jobs are cranks. I'll try straightening the crosses the best I can prior to pulling tension, and then crank with only one hand and straighten with the other hand while I crank. In theory, this could make the best of the...

Hmmm, everything sounds great except the part about losing the 360 rotation. Sounds like it will be beneficial in all other aspects, so I have to figure out what is more important. Thanks for the info.

    Wise Head

I haven't seen much NEW lately about the Wise tensioners. Does the company ever come out with updated versions, or is it perfection just the way it is? In the past, there have been many posts about problems that people have had with the wise. Due to the lack of recent complaints in this...

    bad string job?

Two questions for Flash9 (or anyone else): 1. By pulling tension twice on the crosses, do you find that tension you end up with is the same as when you only pull once? 2. I see you use Klip Nat Gut. I'm thinking of going all nat gut also. Does the playability of the string last longer...

    bad string job?

How to remedy? When using a crank stringing system, how do you straighten the crosses while pulling tension? Is the loss of tension avoided by straightenin the crosses after tension is pulled, but BEFORE clamping?

which is better one piece or two

I usually use the 2 string method in most cases. After I tie off the mains, I pluck the strings to see how the tensions compare between the left and right mains. Usually the middle 4 or 6 mains have more a difference than I'm comfortable with. I've tried different ways of clamping off as I...

    Gamma X-ST - how do i start???

As for the clamps, after a while, you will know if they are tight enough by how hard it is to clamp them. You want to feel a noticable click, but you don't want too much. I would follow the other advice and mark with ink so you can see if there is slippage. When you get the right tightness to...

how important are good looking knots?

Make it look good I think the appearance of the knot is very important if you are stringing other peoples sticks. Use the parnell knot, it's very easy if you look at the picture, and after about 3 tries you won't need the picture any more. Always gently tighten the knot as much as possible...
