Just turned 55. Been playing with Prince 93P for a year, but as a birthday present to myself ordered 2 RF97's after hitting with my coach's and falling in love with it. Still keeping the 93P's though, they're just so sweet-hitting.

I'm probably sounding like a Prince evangelist now, but 93P 18x20. I moved from PS97 to that and haven't looked back.

The bevels ARE sharp on the 93P, which comes stock with the leather grip. @satish.r I use Tourna MegaTac overgrips and they smooth out the bevels a lot, at least for the first couple of matches.

This 97 model better not be any good, lol. I just bought 2 of the 93P a couple of months ago; I thought the Phantom 100's were a little bulky and figured these were the best sticks for my game. Or, maybe 93P for singles, "97P" for doubles? Here I go again...:unsure:

This is of course unsolicited advice, but I wouldn't worry too much about being able to swing a heavier stick, especially if you're doing strength training. Some of those listed above are fairly headlight and will swing much easier than the static weight would indicate. I've got 17 years on...

Great review. Your comments about forehand vs backhand almost exactly matched my experience with the string. Just bought and strung a pack of 18G at a higher tension than my playtest and eager to see if it reigns the power in a little.

I tried Xcel at 55 and felt it should have been higher. The demo I tried had PPC at 57lb, which I initially thought was going to feel like a skillet, but actually felt and played really good. As soft as Velocity is, I'd say on the higher end of tension.

Prizm work well for tennis, I have the Flak 2.0 with them and the ball is highly visible. I'm susceptible to glare post-PRK and these help a lot.

Man, this shoulder turn awareness is superb advice against ANY level of player. I routinely get burned by the 4.5 I play with for this very reason. Along with "moving in when they turn away to chase down a shot," this is a great tactic for taking charge of a point.
