How do tennis tournament tickets work?

I've been to Indian Wells many times. I suggest you buy a "Grounds Pass" for Day or evening session. The grounds pass gives you access to all the courts and stadiums in the open seating areas. For most courts, the majority of seats are open seating except for a few reserve front row spots...

Tip to make yourself run to net instead of watching your serve land?

These are all great tips. I think they will really help. I'm going to do the shadow serves and find a friend to to the hand feed drill. Hopefully, more confidence will come with time. Thanks for the suggestions!

Tip to make yourself run to net instead of watching your serve land?

I have a bad habit of waiting to see where my serve lands before I start sprinting to the net. I try to remind myself to sprint up there, but then I toss the ball and forget. You'd think I could remember it for 2 seconds. :) Then I get stuck in no mans land having to hit the first volley...

PS97 in stock date moved from Nov 11 to Oct 20?

Hi TW, I bought a PS97 earlier on backorder when the ship date was Nov 11. I see that the site quantities have been updated to Oct 20. Does this mean I should expect it almost 3 weeks earlier? :) :) :) Thanks!

TW Video Review - Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph

After this review, I'm fairly convinced the RF97 would be too much racket for me. Here's an idea for current 95 users. I currently play with the BLX 95 which is about 0.3 oz heavier than the RF97. I can swing that pretty well, so my thinking is that I should either get a stock PS97 which is...

Does anyone here not serve hard to women in mixed leagues?

In competitive matches (league or otherwise), I target the weaker player given the court position / skills ability / etc. In mixed, this is usually the women, but not always. In most cases, the kick-serve or slice serve does more damage than the flat serve, so that's what they get until they...

    Playing USTA With An Illness

First, I hope that you don't have an illness. That said, I know a few people that have a had long term ongoing/repetitive injuries. It definitely impacts their playtime, so they show up for a few months at a time a couple times a years, depending on the injury. Either way, the...

How does one get their kid on the path to the WTA ?

I applaud you for considering the road less travelled for your children. As a by product of good education, college, and now a citizen of corporate america, I can confirm life can be "good" for many but it's only "awesome" for few. Why not give your kids a chance to live the dream? If...

What's the tennis scene like in Vancouver, Stanley Park Public Courts?

We're coming in April (in about 3 weeks). I saw on google maps that there were 2 sets of courts at Stanley Park - Lost Lagoon Courts or English Bay Courts? Would you happen to know which one is better for pick-up tennis? Thanks again.

What's the tennis scene like in Vancouver, Stanley Park Public Courts?

My wife and I will be visiting Vancouver and we'd like to get in some pickup tennis games. But not together of course : ) I heard there is quite a big tennis couple in Stanley Park. Does anyone know the good times to show up? Any suggestions for breaking the ice with the locals? We...

    Wilson Blade 98s 18x16

jdawg, any chance you also have experience with the K90, BLX90, or even the 99S? I'd like to know how it feels relative to those. The K90 was too heavy for me, but 99S + 0.75 ounces (total lead and handle weight) feels pretty good. I'd love to have a comparison.

    Cost of nice men's shoes?

Thank you shoe gurus. It seems like Alden and Allen Edmunds are generally recommended, and they also have physical stores in the bay area which helps. Alden seems a bit more expensive. Is there a general consensus that one is better than the other? Why would make anyone pick Alden vs Allen...

    Cost of nice men's shoes?

Total newb here. Is it better to buy a $200 pair of To Boot New York (that fit great) or splurge on the $345 Allen Edmunds? Or skip the shoes and get 2 rackets? :) Thanks!

Does lead under the grip have same exact effect as leather grip?

I found it easier to just open up the buttcap (if you have a trap door), and shove some blue-tac in there. It's easier to undo and modify than having to unwrap your grip to get at the lead every time.
