    Red poly strings

Weiss-Cannon makes a string called Red Ghost. It absolutely fits your description and equally as important it is a quality string that is not as lively or unpredictable as Ultra Cable. As much as I like Yonex Products in general, I think their strings are sub-par. They don't have any good...

A string you had such high hopes for but was a complete bust...???

Luxilon Smart... You talk about high hopes. Man was I disappointed especially considering the price. It was slightly better than your average stiff poly.

On the other end.... String that just blew you away and you did not see it coming... ???

I have used so many poly strings. The strings that I have used most often recently would include Wilson Revolve and Solinco Hyper G in 18 gauge. In a previous flexible frame I have used Technifiber Black Code 4S and it was very responsive with as much spin potential as any string on the market...

How would you describe Durafluxx? I ordered them along with Firewire but have yet to use either strings. Thanks and be safe.

Vibration dampeners may or may NOT allow for the usual string snap back?

I have been looking at these forums on and off for many years and this happens to be my first post. I have used vibrations dampeners for well over a decade because I like to tone down the natural sound that strings produce. I was always under the impression that vibration dampeners really didn't...

Need tension advice... Poly going to Gut/Poly

I think you may be missing the point. I no longer use poly strings for more than 7-10 sets because they lose their play-ability and can cause arm issues. However, I never break them in that time period, I cut them out. I believe that poly is very durable (does not often break) by definition...

Need tension advice... Poly going to Gut/Poly

I would not go as far as to say that natural gut mains and poly cross strings are extremely durable. I have been playing at the 4.5 level for 25 years and I have only broke a full poly bed twice in my life (within 20 or so sets of play). With the gut/poly combo I have unfortunately snapped the...

    Strings for more spin

One of the best shaped "spin" strings you can buy is Technifibre Black Code 4S. I have used Solinco Hyper G so I can tell you that you will get at least the same amount of spin if not more.

Similiar to Hyper G But Softer?

For now, you should go with Tour Bite Soft. If you string it after 8 sets of play, you won't experience the tension loss that is so common with this string.

Good string setup for Babolat Pure Aero?

I think that your only good option with a Luxilon string is 4G at 50-52 lbs. The obvious reason is due to its best attributes, control and tension maintenance. If you want more pop and a livelier feel than I would concur with a previous poster and recommend Solinco Hyper G in a 17 or 18 gauge...

    Looser = Better?

I don't know where you guys play, but the 4.5 to 5.0 level of competition for 40+ year olds in South Florida is fierce. I wish at times that some of these guys did not understand the advantages of a good co-poly! With their good form, they can now take a full swing every time without fear of...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

With great anticipation and high hopes for Revolve Spin, I purchased a few sets and went to play a match. I was quite disappointed to find that the "spin" version was not only inferior in performance, but it felt a bit different. Wilson did something right with Revolve, but Revolve Spin is a...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

I just noticed your post and I wanted to help by saying that you should not get Laserfiber Vorso. It is not a good string. It lacks high end spin and has little feel. It compares in no way to Tour bite. It is somewhat comparable to Y-Tex Quadrotwist, but the Y-tex product feels better. Stick...

Why no love for the 97S?

I use the 97 LS Black. It is even better because its ease of use. I simply put a leather grip on and it's good to go with the overall weight around 330 grams. I like my rackets head light and putting the weight in the handle accomplishes that task. You will have to try this one out if you are...

    Yonex Poly Tour Air?

I have tried MANY polys. I did not find any positive qualities about AIR with the exception of good tension maintenance. Unfortunately, that is not good enough. There are several other smooth polys to try so you can at least cross this one off the list!

    Anyone using Wilson Revolve?

Revolve is a fine string. In a full bed you will experience the snapback effect. Some say it's stiff, but I would describe it more as crisp. It is medium powered and the play-ability is above average. I much prefer Wilson Revolve to a similar Solinco string- Outlast. I really like Solinco...

I'm looking for a Spin Monster.

There is one more that I almost forgot. For the first few sets you will get serious spin from Tourna Big Hitter Black 7, and then you will lose control.

I'm looking for a Spin Monster.

Perhaps the best spin string, although it is quite stiff and not very comfortable, could be Technifiber Black Code 4S.

    MY POLY REVIEWS

The best advice I can give you is not to use Diamond Rough. It is similar in power to TBS and it will be short lived as well. There is little to no control and it's too mushy. Solinco Tour Bite, Hyper G and Revolution are much, much better in every aspect.

Yonex poly tour pro 120 tension maintenance

I have used natural gut mains with Yonex PTP crosses. I am a competitive 4.5 player and I can tell you that the comfort is great with this set up. However, I found it too powerful after just a few sets. That could be poor tension maintenance or due to the fact that I strung the poly crosses at...
