a rosin bag is your friend. Costs about $5. works well. is NOT sticky (which is what I expected) Worth a try. (I tried gauze tape years ago and it tore up my hand.)

    Reduce grip size

Braith - a micrometer is probably your best bet. Prince resi thin grips, at about $5 are also a good option.

    Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Solinco MACH-10

Tennis background/skill level/playing style: I started in the mid 80s. Rural WV, no instruction, no exposure, nothing. I have since been to camps run by Bollettieri, Van der Meer and Harry Hopman. I have read books on tennis, videos, been to Roland Garros and US Open and Cincinnati several...

technique question - lock turntable on pulls? weaves?

Hey all! I have been stringing more and more (maybe 1 a week or so) I have hit a wall, I think, at about 30-35 minutes from the 1st main pull to tying off the last cross. I have used the turntable lock for knots and perhaps for the bottom cross push through. I weave crosses pushing with...

    Tennis ball 2025

Yes, they are harder than Penns, but they last like Pro Penns, and are significantly less expensive, especially case prices. Babolats are good balls, but I just can't get past the value of the Diadems. They are not like rocks. Played WalMart Penns for a while, but in the last year they got...

Shaving and reusing a bumper guard

Honestly, about the only time this is a good idea is if you play on clay exclusively... (and I guess grass.) Or are on the tour.....

    Vcore 100 (2023) strings

As far as weather, really the only downside is water. I've only had one, maybe 2 string snaps that I attributed to wetness in the last 5 years. Leaving your racket outside in the car in sub 32 degree weather, or allowing it into the hold of a plane where it is going to get down to below zero...

    The gut/poly thread

I did once. didn't like the plasticy feel, even though I have used hyper G in my "bad weather racket" and it was fine. I would def. look into whether you are intrepid enough to change out just the crosses if you go hyper G

    Vcore 100 (2023) strings

What are the chances I ruined my nice gut string job?

    A. Weight of the balls? I guess it is possible, but I think the coating was already gone and the water got into the fibers and the 62 lbs. tension and poly crosses just cut right through B. I did and that's what I switched to when the "A" racket strings broke

    The Sleeve ™

What are the chances I ruined my nice gut string job?

I have been playing with gut for a while now. You should be OK unless the gut coating was completely worn off. I was playing an outdoor tourney on Har Tru a couple years ago. My gut was about mid-way through. about 5 PM, apparently their under the court watering system turned on. It...

    Yonex Pro Series bag orientation

hinges are clean. flipped them back once to see if that did anything. squeaking instantly stopped. started again when I flipped back. I think the hinges are oriented slightly differently and the slight mismatch causes the squeak.

    Yonex Pro Series bag orientation

I am a head down kinda guy. I flipped the straps and it works, although it makes the pivot hinges squeak

USTA level 5 16U and 18U tournaments: Is the behavior of the players really this bad?

Of course, as a parent of a top jr. volleyball player, we think, going in, that the entry fees are pretty expensive. Then we are hit with the number of days off work, the cost of the hotels, meals out, etc etc etc YIKES!

First Stringing Machine: Buy Used or Invest in High-End?

If you know how to string already, be sure you string a racket on the machine before you buy. If the seller won't let you, don't buy the machine, just politely walk away. Starting with a cheap drop weight is OK to see if you despise stringing or not, but understand that the...

    Hindrance Question

"A player may change position at any time, including while the server is tossing a ball." simple as. Look up to where you are going to toss the ball BEFORE he moves up or back or sideways, etc. Serving is hard enough as it is without trying to change your serve mid swing because you think...
