it does appear to be heavy. I use 1.28 PR/1.22 GW and the strings add 33 SW on a 98 16x19 Blade. Most other mains I have crossed with 1.22 GW are in the 30-31 range.

There was a brief period where I played a gut/poly hybrid and by far the best setup for me was Lux Gut 1.30/4G Soft 1.25 at 56/52. As a main 4G Soft plays great for me when I cross it with a softer round poly cross. When I play this setup, I do 4G Soft 1.25/TruPro Ghostwire 1.22 at 47/45.

I use 1.28 PR crossed with 1.22 GW at 49/47 in a 98 Blade. Great setup. I wouldn’t be wary about the 1.28 as it plays like a 1.25 to me.

TruPro Pure Rush/Ghostwire hybrid at 48/47. DT is usually 24 or so at the 6 hour mark and they are done for me. The from 32 to 30 to 28 etc…. drop is pretty consistent for all strings for me.

I would say that is pretty good, For me it is 32 off the stringer, 30 the next day just sitting and 28 after the first hit. So I lose 4 points from stringer to after first hit. Your description was only a 2 pt loss.

Gut/Poly is a great playing hybrid. It’s only downfall for us string breakers is the durability is terrible, If you don’t break strings quickly follow the OP’s advice and try it!!

I get about 5 hours out of 1.28 PR before it is dead. But for me that is in-line with most poly strings. So in found the tension maintenance to be about average to other comparable strings.

Tourna 700-ES Electronic Constant Pull

The DT decreases are typical as described when I use Tourna Black Zone, TruPro Black Knight and Pure Rush as well as Grapplesnake M8. Some strings I have used in the past like ALU (no surprise) and Cyclone Tour are worse and 4G Soft is better.

I am playing 1.28 PR with a cross of 1.22 or 1.27 GW in a Blade and it is a great great combo. I have not played 1.23 as I typically play strings 1.25 or higher in a main. I can’t imagine it would be drastically different, but probably a little more power/spin but greater tension loss.
