    Doubles Scoring

I actually saw it during a match I was watching. They flashed up on the screen about how the higher ranked teams were winning the same percentage of matches as with the regular scoring system. It probably is in Tennis magazine. About adding your own bias... that is fine. You have a right...

When should I use ice or heat?

Icing your back after you play is not bad. It is actually good, because it will reduce the swelling. This is really the only time you should ice it. Once you get home heat is good for it because relaxes the muscle. Heat is better for relaxing your muscles. Ice reduces swelling. If you...

    Doubles Scoring

It was a rule/compromise by the doubles organization to help promote doubles. We almost lost doubles all together. I know many of the players and board members of the Save Doubles organization are happy with the new scoring format. It will give them a chance to showcase doubles, which is the...

    I'm curious

Both Roddick and Gilbert have too big of an ego. I don't know how they put their shirts on over their big fat heads. They are too much alike and they just butted heads. The best thing Gilbert did while he was coaching Roddick was to get rid of his visor. Gilbert told Roddick that he looked...

best backand in the mens atp.

I have to go with Federer. I have seen it up close and personal. It's silk! Now, having said that, I have seen it breakdown. For example, Roland Garros (aka The French Open) all the commentators were saying is that Nadal is attacking Roger's backhand. I have to admit he was off that day...

No love between PMac and Gillbert

Easy guys! Patrick is known more for Davis Cup than his actual tennis playing abilities. Yes, he rode in on the coattails of his brother, John MacEnroe. Johnny Mac is a great commentator. Patrick is getting caught up in a bit of the limelight. I think he spices things up a bit with Cliff...

Looking to Start a Stringing Business

I guess I will add my two cents worth in. You have a great idea in starting your own business. You have gotten well advised responses. I tend to agree with them. Start with your basic Prince Syn. Gut and go from there. Most recreational players don't know what to put in their racquet...

    Apologizing?

It's just because it wasn't intentional. You don't want your opponent to think that you won on a lucky shot. Now apologizing when you hit an opponent! That should be a topic for discussion. Many times when pro's go for someone and they apologize, it is just a formality. It's not really...

How do they make Grass slow?

For Grass courts to be slow there must be some sand added to the ground. A wet court will play slower too. Think about golf. In the morning with the dew on the ground, the greens are slower. When the sun dries the greens out the greens play quicker. They can manipulate a court to play at...

top ten best points at wimbledon!

Thanks for the video. I watched it twice. I can't believe that Courier made all of those great gets including the one where he slipped and fell down chasing down the overhead and then got up and made a backhand stab right before the ball bounced twice. Of course the women's doubles point was...

One Handed Backhand making a comeback?

Have you noticed how many one handed backhands there are. If you look at the Wimbledon finals for then men and the women, 3out of 4 players had a onehanded BH. There was Justine H-H, Mauresmo, and Federer. Nadal was the only one with a two hander. I was watching Blake get smoked today by...

Easiest way to increase grip size ?

Heat shrink wrap is the best way to keep the bevels beveled. If you wrap 3 overwraps on your racquet, the grip becomes rounded. Good call Kchau! Some people don't mind their grips being rounded. It's a personal preference. Call me a traditionalist, but I like the beveled feel.

    henin-hardin's racket?

Okay, now don't tell me that Todd Martin never used the Hammer 6.2 (black & white AKA "the skunk") Then he switched to the Orange Hammer 5.2 before going to the H-tour (black with the orange trim). Let me know.

bob and mike bryan using technifibre???

After talking to the Wilson Rep in Houston, he told me that they don't pay Federer anything near what Prince and Head pay their players. I think it's the clothing companies that pay out the big bucks. Companies like Nike and Adidas, etc. I will see if I can find out from the Wilson Rep. about...

    Question about string tension

Strings movement depends on many factors. You have to take into consideration what type of string you are using, what tension, and of course the string pattern of the racquet. Not to mention how much spin you impart on the ball. If you are having trouble with string movement I would try...

    step on strings

It was an accident. Chill out. I've seen people stand on their strings when their racquet was strung too tight. It will not hurt the strings or the racquet. I am not reccomending that you do this all the time, but your racquet is fine. You probably did lose some tension, but not too much...

    Murray vs Clement

Murray is a great player. He is still young. Clement outsmarted him. Murray should have called for a trainer to slow things down and take care of his blistering hand. That way he could have blisterd a few of his own forehands. Clement is a strong player, a force to be reckoned with and a...

bob and mike bryan using technifibre???

Now that I think about it, I think the Bryan boys were using Technifibre during the Masters cup in Houston in 2003 & 2004. They might have even been using back when they played for Stanford. There has been a big resurgence of technifibre in the States here of late and they are really being...

bob and mike bryan using technifibre???

They've been using Technifibre for quite sometime now. At least one year. Just because they use Wilson racquets doesn't mean that they have to use Wilson strings, grips, shoes, clothes, etc. Wilson pays very little sponsorship money to the professional tennis players. They believe in...

    Safin has the fastest serve

So, The official fastest serve is by Big Bill Tilden at 163.6 mph? Is that right? I don't even know if they had the technology to figure that out in 1931. Did they figure that out with a slide rule? Who knows if that is accurate? I think sometimes there are records with the Open Era, that...

    henin-hardin's racket?

Okay, Okay. You are right. It's not the new N-tour2. Wow, you guys have a lot of time on your hands. I never woud have guessed it. Most players don't play with the racquet that you think it is. I don't know why. I think when a player finds a racquet that works for them, they are reluctant...
