Specs on tennis-warehouse are all over the place

    a) Do they do their own measurements? b) Isn't it inconvenient not to list unstrung weight? The string on Head is 16g, on Yonex (also a 98 sq in), 18g. That can be possible, but why don't they let users to add the weight of strings of their choice? References...

How to actively switch a topspin valley to slices (FH or BH)?

Thank you. Actually my question is not only 'what to do with this particular ball' but I'm already in a deep high topspin rally, the 'loop it back even higher' exchange, and I want to change it to a slice game, because, although I'm more comfortable in topspin game, upon a few tests I find that...

How to actively switch a topspin valley to slices (FH or BH)?

I can only wait for the perfect ball height and pace to start slices, and they don't come from topspin high balls. The only chance is my opponent's mishits. Do I need to slice on the rise of heavy topspin balls? It seems risky. [Edit] Oh I wrote valley for rally in title.

Volley step into the ball, heel vs toe first

Landing on the ground 1 then 2, on the final step of a volley (left foot on a righty's FH). Which is correct? I'm not talking about hit and go up to the net, but just hit and stay. I've been so concerned with 'on the balls of the feet' that I'm doing A (B is impractical on big steps). That...

Where do you notice tension loss the most?

Groundstrokes being too long for no reason.

Is there a clue to toss the ball to the right?

This isn't a tip for toss direction, but look at the supposed hitting point in the air BEFORE tossing and keep staring there the whole time. Use any background object as reference. If your eyes follow the ball from in your palm to apex to the hitting point, you can't tell if the toss direction...

    Pro's Pro Black Out

This is the first time I see someone saying it hard. Many people, including those in the Pro's Pro main thread, found it very soft, and it is he softest sting I have used.

    Pro's Pro Black Out

Red Devil is less grippy than BO when BO is new, but a lot more predictable throughout its life than BO. Also the finest RD at 1.14 holds tension better than BO 1.24

    Pro's Pro Black Out

The problem of Blackout is unpredictability. One shot you grip the ball, next shot you feel the ball sliding across the face. You're either constantly adjusting racquet face angle, or you give up brushing, that is, you push.

    Illegal placement of dampener

Hey I found this line in the rules. So you think putting 10 dampeners at 3 o'clock is legal? They can claim your placement unreasonable.

    Illegal placement of dampener

Have you really used a rubber band as dampener? I do. It won't slip down.

    Illegal placement of dampener

#90. And the film isn't attached to the stringbed. I agree that the film violates the stringbed rule. My question is how a protrusion (sorry I don't know if it's the correct term) doesn't, by the same token. You see the Hello Kitty horns drawing.

    Illegal placement of dampener

Problems of the writing of the rules: why mentioning dampeners? The rules should apply to any material attached to the racquet, eg my son's tooth, a voodoo spell. why making the rule in the form of question and answer? This leads to tons of 'what if' exceptions. they can write a rule like...

    Illegal placement of dampener

So you're saying if the protrusion is small it's legal. So size matters, and the rules don't specify the accepted range.

    Illegal placement of dampener

I've read through this whole thread. I'm afraid by the same token this mega dampener set needs to be allowed. 1) all four anchors are placed outside the pattern. 2) a film, or metal sheet, is attached to the anchors.

    Prince textreme 100P (2015) vs Prince textreme 100P (2019)

Sorry I know this is an old thread, but this is 2015 or 19? Most current pages on "Prince Tour" are on the white ATS. I can't find details of the two old versions. All I can tell is the head writes' MIDPLUS'. Some other online photos write '305g' and I don't even know whether it's just the...

Kinetic chain: ARM lags torso or not?

Agree. The point is when does the "2) ... then overtakes it" occur? Patrick has it very early, way before the hit, and this isn't the drum swing.

Kinetic chain: ARM lags torso or not?

"You don't play your forehand like this. You play your forehand with your hand, and all the body follows." However I learnt from this drum analogy: the drum (torso) brings the string (arm) forward. Exactly what Patrick says not to do. Ideas?

Cheap thin gauge soft poly reel

Pro's Pro Red Devil is loved by many. I found it too soft in fullbed. It's as soft as Black Force but have more control. I switched to MSV Focus Hex 1.10mm. Do you know how this is different from Hex Plus 38?

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

The colour is slightly different. You can't miss the difference when putting them together. Plus Power is harder than other PP polys say Blackout, Black Force, Red Devil, the last two are known to be very soft. I purposefully tested the two so I remember I could tell the differences in play...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

Can somebody here who knows chemistry tell me if chromatography (pointing at those spike charts and say 'this is sodium') is possible to find whether two strings have similar ingredients? After all I tried hard to look for that word so please don't let my effort be wasted.

MYTH: You can't hit a "flat" serve without being extremely tall. MATH: You can do it at just 5'0" even at 120mph due to gravity & drag. ADVICE: Don't

Per-minute spin rates, while related to ball travel speed, do not mix into per-hour ball travel speed calculation. And if a certain calculation is full of xx hours yy minutes, instead of xx.zz hours, or ww minutes, that equally hurts. This is the case of the OP calculation. If it's done all...

Pushing up from the back leg on pinpoint serve?

You must rock forward before being able to lift back foot, right? And you mean what she is trying to do (pushing from back foot) is wrong?
