Is this an Early Start League? If so, you are actually playing in a 2013 league and would need to wait for the State Championships until after the regular 2013 spring leagues. Is there not a playoff between the 2 leagues or do the winners of both leagues get to attend the State Championships?

What he failed to mention is that not only is the player subject to disqualification, but also self-rate grievances. I'm sure that if someone filed a grievance and used the rule and the player's prior rating as evidence, it would be upheld. Just need someone to try it.

No, you cannot. With 3 spring league matches, you should have generated a year-end computer rating, which means that you are not eligible to self rate. Since you are over age 60, your computer rating will be good for only 2 years instead of 3 years and your automatic appeal range is .1 instead...

The computer may not look at her dynamic rating during the self-rate process, but, the appeal committee does. That is probably why she was denied her appeal.

Just an FYI...they did change the questions to the self rate questionnaire a year or two ago, along with the minimum ratings. It is possible that the same answers will get you a higher rating now than they would have previously.

Don't waste your time. Your appeal will be denied. It is not considered an appealable (permanently disabling) condition.

What state/section are you in?

I've only seen it in the lower level leagues, usually 2.5 or maybe 3.0. It's great for new captains and players to have a mentor and learn the ropes.
