2013 WTF Final: Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal

I think he was at the end of a great season and he wasn't doing half what he was capable of. Probably needs to go out and have a good rest. He did look tired

2013 WTF Final: Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal

The way Rafa served tonight had no fight in it. I don't think he could care less. Djoko needs this much more than he does and Rafa knows this.

2013 WTF Final: Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal

Well I didn't even expect Nadal to get this far and that is why I went to see him at the start of the week so this is a bonus!

Well there must be some reason for those double faults

2013 WTF Final: Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal

I was there on Tuesday and I reckon this must be the hardest place to play tennis. Its very enclosed and hot and the noise (which you don't hear on tv) is drowning. When there is a break point they roll the drums. Same as match point. I wouldn't mind betting that the players just want to get home!

    "I don't even have a day off."

Oh for heaven sake . The players have to accept that this is the situation - whether they like it or not. The finals are always like this at the end of the year.

Why can't Rafa dominate for more than 6 months in a row?

Doubt if we will see much of Rafa now (even in London) playing at his best until January and the AO. This seems to be the winding down period

    To those who dislike Nadal...

What am I dreading.... the fact that there is not many people on the horizon who has the commitment of the big four.

    Nadal News

Isn't it amazing that Rafa still has the attention even after a six month break in a world whereby you can be forgotten if you are out of sight for a time. He certainly has that factor that draws people to him even if he isn't always playing at his best

Why Has Tennis Declined in Popularity?

Same here in the uk. Saturated with football

    How To Increase Tennis' Popularity

We need them to participate as you did and not just be spectators like many do in the soccer matches. People often complain tennis is a rich peoples' sport but in fact you can rent a court for as little as £5 per hour in some places. As a kid I practised for ages just knocking a ball up...

    To those who dislike Nadal...

I dread the thought of what will happen 3-4 years from now.

Well done. This is the best contribution I have seen on this site. Someone who cares about the future of tennis

US Open SF: Nadal vs. Gasquet

Both Nadal and Djoko will have to be on their guard. Both their opponents have had a taste of victory big time. They will be ready to play like never before and risk taking will be part of their game - so get ready !

Is Wawrinka more talented than Federer?

I wonder if we will see a continuation of his performance against Murray. If so then we may see something close to Federer
  17. R

    Let's face it. We're headed to a Djokovic-Nadal final...

There is a very quiet determination from Wawrinka that we will see when he plays Djoko. If he can keep his nerve his is in with a good chance.

You thought Nadal's 2010 US Open draw was a joke? Take a look at this

Yes it is a disgrace that there was no respect for the players. Do you think tennis is such a walkover these days that you don't have to try. Suggest you give it a try!

Will Murray or Nole have enough left in the tank to beat a rested Rafa?

What day is the final now as I am confused about it going over into another day

US open QF: FERRER vs. GASQUET

Well I would have backed Rafa when I was at Wimbledon for the final this year if he had been playing Murray. Sad though it sounds but I have been his fan for too long even though I am a Brit.

US open QF: FERRER vs. GASQUET

Thats a lovely expression I must remember that!

US open QF: FERRER vs. GASQUET

Ferrer may not have won a slam but that doesn't mean he isn't one of the greatest players. He is always a joy to watch. Ferrer is what real tennis is all about - he never gives up
  23. R

US open QF: FERRER vs. GASQUET

I just wonder if they both start to think when they are tired that they may have to go through this again with Nadal and can they face it
  24. R

Rafa fans.. now you know how we feel

Think of it this way. On a day when a sixty something woman has swum from Cuba to the USA proves that everything is possible. You should never never give up. Age isn't what it used to be but you do need time out more than when you are younger. He could surprise us all again. Federer is a very...

    Explain Federer to me

I think Federer needs to do a Nadal and have a long rest. I don't think he is finished by any means but he may be having a sort of melt down where tennis is concerned and the tour is pretty heavy going

    1HBH to western forehand

Yes but one thing I noticed when I tried the two handed backhand for about a month was the fact that I had pain in my lower bank and it was much tougher on the legs.

What quality groundstoke rallies look like

Tennis is also a stylish game. Federer has been known for that as well as his incredible wins. In fact he will stand out from the rest because of that long after the rest have gone. I am no fan of Federer as a person but when I want to try and perfect a shot I look to his game and it works.

I have passes to the players lounge :-)

The fact that they were not great reminds me of the ones I took at Wimbledon this year...don't worry

Federer vs Robredo ( Round 4)

It won't be so much his game that will make the decision for Fed to retire as the fact his children will need a stable educational background. Like children the world over they need to go to school and make friends, have fun and a real home.
