    Knee arthritis and ACI

Doing PT can't hurt, as long as they know what they are trying to help with. The description of crushed doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Here's a good site that provides an overview of these injuries and the treatment options: http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00422...

    Knee arthritis and ACI

Thanks for the link. He's local. He seems to specialize in tendon repair as well as the use of PRP for treatment. I'm way beyond that, but will bookmark him to look at my tennis elbow if I ever get back on the court :)

    Knee arthritis and ACI

Update. The loss of knee cartilage is quite common and unfortunately there is no good fix. I'm still trying to figure out the right solution, but if anyone needs input, post or email me and I will share my findings.

    Knee arthritis and ACI

Still unsure of what to do. I did just visit the Egoscue clinic and will report back. I'm OK with the idea of ACI but the dr also wants to do an osteotomy where they break the bone and repin in so it heals in a different position. No thanks. I found a knee forum and also did some searching...

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

I have never felt a lack of precision due to the Kinetic technology and the small amount of it. The weight of the particles is minimal. The QTour (both of them) are definitely players frames with nothing to "throw you off". If I blacked out the frame and gave it to you, you'd probably not even...

    Knee arthritis and ACI

I haven't played serious tennis in over year, and haven't hit a ball in about 2 months. A few years back, I had knee pain and swelling. MRI led to arthoscopy, and the doctor found a small lesion and performed microfracture. Seemed to get better. More recently, swelling returned. Doctor...

Thinking of switching from ProKennex Kinetic Pro 5G in search of more power and spin

Do NOT get a Pure Drive if you've already had arm issues. Try the Kennex Q5 if you want a frame that is a little stiffer and more powerful than your 5G. You didn't mention your level but if you're at least a 3.5-4.0 and can handle a player's frame, the QTour (295 and 315) are nice options.

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

I've dialed back my playing but continue to enjoy the QTour 295. I've even stopped using an elbow brace, and though I played two sets of singles last night, I was shocked that my elbow felt totally fine. The QTour is a fantastic singles stick, especially on groundstrokes, but it's very much a...

Pro Kennex Kinetic KI Q5 (315G)

Try adding some lead to your Ki5. 4.0 and up should take a good look at the QTour (I prefer the 295).

Pro Kennex Kinetic KI Q5 (315G)

Ki5 312g vs Q5 315. The Q5 is a bit stiffer and has a bit more power, just as ollinger said above.

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

I'm still happy with the QTour295 and it's not bothering my elbow. The Ki5 is much softer, but has far less feel and control for me. I have hit some ridiculous dropshops with the QT that I could never have hit with the Ki5. On the other hand, the Ki5 is a much better choice for volleys. Still...

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

Just ordered one. I was hitting my Ki5 last night and realized how much I prefer the QTour over it. The only thing the Ki5 does better is volley, and that's a maybe.

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

Welcome back Dave. Are you saying when hitting a backhand slice, you can't feel the difference between the Tour and the Q5? I didn't try the Q5 295 but I did use the 315, which felt a lot like a stiffer Ki5. I find that that Q Tour has much more feel, and a smaller sweetspot, but more...

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

Just sent back my demo. Really liked it. Didn't bother my elbow (the Ki5 is the only thing that hasn't so far). I got to do a little hard hitting with it, it was very stable with great feel, and I was overhitting the ball, if that's any indication of power. I will likely order at least one.

    ProKennex QTour 295, interesting...

The US QTour295 is a 16x19. I haven't played in 6 months but thinking this is a must-demo for me. Loved the heavier QTour but it was too heavy for me and bothered my shoulder.

Tennis: the sport for a lifetime?

Good one. I've dropped 5lbs since Jan 1 and though my knee isn't going to magically get better, it does feel better.

Tennis: the sport for a lifetime?

Thanks drak, I'll explore those links. I don't think PRP is viable for cartilage loss, but it works in some cases for muscular issues like plantar fascitis and tennis elbow. Dr wants to go in and poke around based on MRI. I'm going to get a second opinion as he couldn't tell me much from...

Just got wind of the egoscue thing and am going to check it out. Might be too late for me, but maybe not.

Tennis: the sport for a lifetime?

Digging up an old thread. My knee got better, and I assumed the microfracture had done the trick. Two weeks ago, was playing doubles (I've switched to mostly doubles) and after the match, felt swelling in the knee again. Ortho says MRI shows damage has "progressed", I have a followup visit...

TW Playtesters - Doubles Racquet Advice Please...

Given that your body seems to be degrading like mine :), I suggest the Pro Kennex Ki5 and Q5 (try both, I've not tried the lighter one). The 2013 AeroPro Drive sounds softer than the old one, but I still don't trust the Babolats for anyone who has had physical issues.

Agassi playing with Babolat Aeropro at WTT!!!

Saw Agassi last night in San Jose. I wasn't close enough to get a good look, but he carried a Head bag onto the court, and was swinging what looked like a variant of the Radical in the typical orange/black. Perhaps someone courtside has better shots?

    Boris Becker (BB) London Club

I still have my Londons though I am not playing with them due to tennis elbow (Ki5 is the only thing that doesn't hurt). Just a reminder that the London uses the BB/Volkl pallet grip system, so you can change the grip size to whatever suits you.

Wilson Hits Homerun with Wilson Steam 99S (mini review)

OK, how is this "new technology" different from what Mark Woodforde had in his frame back in the day? From an old post:

What Are Your Thoughts on Prokennex?

No, the Q Tour 295 is not available in the US. I suspect it would lose some of its charm with less weight.

    pro kennex q5

I am still on the fence about the Q5, but I think I'm going to go for one. Has anyone else tried it recently?

What Are Your Thoughts on Prokennex?

I dislike the Ki5, but I've acclimated to it. It's the only thing I can play without pain right now. The Q Tour feels a lot better to me, but the weight bothers my arm. The Q5 is a slightly stiffer Ki5 and I will likely move to that.

What Are Your Thoughts on Prokennex?

It's kind of ironic that I am back to PK actually. My first "real" racquet was a Copper Ace, and I used the Ceramic Destiny throughout most of college.

    Best light racket for TE

The London has massive control, I'm not sure what more you could ask for there (other than a 18x20 pattern perhaps). There's a Q Tour 295 in Europe apparently, that would be the ticket. I don't think you will like the Q5 or Ki5, they have far less control than the QTour and London. IMO nothing...

Using Kennex Pro Redondo need 2nd racquet advice

I think I slightly prefer the Q5 because it has better feel (the Ki5 feels mushy to me) and I can hit better drop shots. I think I hit with more pace with the Q5 and serve better. On the other hand, the slight difference in stiffness scares me a bit. When it's back in stock in my size, I will...
