    Does capping affect racquet specs?

Great thanks everybody! I will give it a try next time I restring. I added a leather grip to my Radical and it made it noticeably more HL. If capping adds ~9 grams that should bring it back to about stock balance.

    "Soft/Arm Frindely" balls

I usually play with Wilson or Penn Championship balls. They are fairly soft IMO, especially if you get the regular duty ones which are lighter and have less felt. Stay away from TI balls - very hard. Picked up a pack of Penn Tribute for the first time today and was not impressed - even harder...

    Does capping affect racquet specs?

I'm thinking about capping my Head Microgel Radical MP with Prestige grommets. Anyone who has done this did you notice a difference in playing characteristics, e.g. was there a noticeable weight difference, was it slightly more HH? Does the extended bumper guard weigh enough to function...

3&9 O'clock for lead - measure it, or eyeball the spot?

I just eyeball it using the grommets, so if there are 20 crosses the space between grommet 10 & 11 is the halfway point. Helps me get the lead tape on symmetrically as well.

What was the last movie you watched?

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - Steve Carell is always entertaining to watch!

Help: BLX Blade 98 with a leather grip?

Physics is certainly not my forte but adding a leather grip won't increase SW significantly. This is b/c you are adding weight near the butt end of a fulcrum instead of the head. If you wanted to increase SW the most efficient way is to add lead at 12 o'clock until you reach the desired spec.

BLX Pro staff discount mean new rackets coming in?

The PS, Juice, and Steam models are $20 off on various websites and at my local Dick's. I don't remember exactly but I think it is a limited time offer from Wilson after the U.S. Open (since those are the frames marketed by their pros).

how often do you switch rackets?

Twice I've had a need to switch racquets. Once when I was improving from beginner to more advanced player and moving out of the OS lightweight category. The other was when I developed wrist pain using a fairly heavy racquet and moved down to something more manageable. I'm quite happy now with my...

    iPhone question

This is true. $199 for iPhone 5, $99 for iPhone 4S, and $0 for iPhone 4 only comes with a 2 year contract. If you order a phone and don't activate it (saving it as a backup like I did) you will be charged the full price for that phone down the line - something outrageous like $800. Don't make...

Anybody have any of these bags?

Btw I am replacing a Wilson Pro Staff 6 pack. Quality is not good at all - very thin fabric (not much protection if bag is dropped) and when the acrylic letters on the logo got wet they started peeling from the bag.

Anybody have any of these bags?

I looked at the Head ATP 6 pack at Sports Authority and didn't like it. It is smaller than some other 6 packs and the material looked kind of cheap to me. Just bought a Volkyl Super Tour on TW and will give an update once I receive it. At $39 it looks like a great deal for an insulated bag.

    Dampener - use

I started playing tennis without dampeners and have since switched to using them. It probably depends on your racquet but with my Radicals I notice a pretty significant change in the way they play with and without dampeners. Without the frame feels more hollow on impact and produces a slightly...

    How much are you charged?

Labor is $15-20 at pro shops in Miami + cost of string. Looking at investing in a stringer. Anyone use the Gamma Progression 200 they sell on TW? http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Gamma_Progression_200_Stringing_Machine_/descpageGAMMA-GP200.html

    Overgrip by itself...

I am not one for mushy or overly cushioned grips. Have always used synthetics but recently switched to a leather grip + Tourna overgrip and it gives a wonderfully firm and responsive feel.

Looking to purchase a tennis bag ?

I have a 6 pack and it works fine for my purposes - 2 racquets in 1 compartment and everything else (towel, water bottle, change of clothes, shoes, balls) in the other. There's also a small outer compartment that I use to store my keys, wallet, and phone. I do pack it full but haven't found the...

    Most absorbent overgrip?

Another vote here for Tourna. I live in Miami and need super absorbancy during the summer months. Have tried out other grips but keep on coming back because of price and availability everywhere. Once I find something that works I tend to keep with it. Is there a reason you didn't like Tourna?
