Prince O3 Hybrid Hornet Midplus Racquets

Came across two of these racquets a few days ago and took them out for a hit. They are much lighter than my current racquets but nonetheless, it felt remarkably good hitting with them. A brief bit of research showed the Prince 03 Hybrid Hornet Midplus came out around 2006 but beyond that, I...

Wilson Sting 2 (How it Stacks Up)

Steve, think you nailed it. Transitioned from the Kramer Pro Staff to the 1st edition Sting (100% graphite) and didn't really like it; never felt right and lacked consistency. Early '80s, everyone was eager to try these new racquets with the new technology and the Sting was one of Wilson's early...

    Warped Max 200g

Had the same experience with an original 200G. Sent it back to Dunlop. They were no longer making that model with the green/gold lettering so they replaced it with the green/purple 200G model, which I still have. Played with it before switching to the Wilson 6.1 Pro Staff.

Any future info on Dunlop racquets.

Agree. Going back to the Maxply and the 200G, Dunlop had a history of making good racquets. Too bad they've lost interest in the game.

Any future info on Dunlop racquets.

For now, Dunlop seems to have fallen by the wayside. They got back in the game with a few good racquets then quickly went away. Thought they were heading in the right direction with the Aerogel line. They don't have to compete with the big names. If they can develop a few good racquets, word will...

    Buying without demoing...?

I've done both. I've had better success when I've tested a new stick than relying on reviews. Bought a Prince Hornet Hybrid w/o testing it first and it spends more time hanging out in my closet than on a court. Considering the cost of a new racket and strings, might be worth your time to spend a...

    Re-stringing frequency, have a read....

Anubis post sounds like sage advice. We may be overthinking this issue. There will always be outliers, those players stand out from the norm; the chronic string breakers and those nearing the quarter century on their Walmart racquet and strings. Like tire manufacturers, companies don't design...

Whats the worst racquet you have bought recently?

Agree with you about the Wilson Sting; 100% graphite and no feel. Have to disagree with you about the Dunlop; thought it was an excellent racquet.

    Life expectancy of a frame?

On average, I change racquets about every five years. I use 2-3 of the same racquets and restring them as needed. I read an article about metal fatigue that occurs in racquets as a result of restringing and player's hitting habits; something about the graphite separating and the racquets...
