    Rabbit's Cavalcade of Natural Gut

Not to change the subject off toilet seats, but was hoping i could clarify something. Looking at the energy returns %'s of various guts, the string database seems to conclude that gut gets more powerful with higher tensions. Is this true in practice?

    Babolat Nvy problems

Nvy crosses are great for muted feel but they do not provide much spin. Even a generic syn gut cross will provide more spin.

Pro Staff 95S / 95 vs. Pure Control Tour

The PS 95S is a very demanding and rewarding racquet. Go for big strokes, get paid. Half-swings, bad timing and bad form are punished with ridiculous outcomes. (Leaded to 355g, YMMV)

    Mikeler's Polys

As if string pattern mattered much before, the new spin-effect racquets are going to require a whole set of new stringing rules. I think the personalities of poly will show even more in the open patterns. B5E sucks as a full job even more :)

    String Help

PLII is a medium soft, low power poly. So for a comparable playing experience, go for a softer, low power poly. Plenty out there. Just do a search for soft poly.

    Pojie String Extenders?

Agreed. Why dont you all add a 3rd set for controls, 4-6 center mains strung 4 lbs lower.

Going from Kevlar mains to gut mains

Gotta go at least 55 for gut in an open pattern to keep a crisper feel. 52 maybe for closed patterns. Any less and it will definitely feel "springy".

Going from Kevlar mains to gut mains

Gut is a completely different animal. You can't extrapolate its behavior from kevlar.

    Control Oriented String

Shaun, that racquet sounds very light to me, and that you are getting pushed around. 10.7oz strung is pretty light. Strings can help the ball from sailing long, and B5E is great advice, but i think you will just be coughing up short balls all day with that setup. Ever tried some lead tape...

    Why gut/poly hybrid so popular???

I kind of agree that you need to be a self stringer for this option to really shine. Otherwise yeah it's pricy. If you're a baseliner you can hypermile the gut/cofocus setup for some value. I can't drop shot gut/cofocus.

Wilson BLX Prostaff 95 vs Wilson BLX Juice Lite for an 11 year old

I use a BLX ProStaff 95 and the main reason i like it is the flex and the thin beam. It is lower powered in stock form but i lead it up to 355g. Even with lead, it's not going to boom like a Six.One 95, which if i wanted to convert to a power game, i would switch to. That thing has sick power...
