Is this Cheap String any good?

In my experience, it's probably the stiffest synthetic I've ever played with. I would never go back to it... Gosen is cheap as well and plays better.

    Synthetic Gut vs Multi

Thanks Copey :) I've been busy with school and stringing rackets for others... I'm on break now so it's good to be back. As for the OP... have you tried Pro Supex Synthetic Gut Titan? It's quite soft and bites the ball pretty well. Good price too.

    Softest Synthetic Gut?

I agree with pvaudio, synthetic gut seems to cut through faster than multis... Pro Supex Synthetic Gut Titan is pretty soft. My favorite by far.

    Tour Bite or Black Code

Black Code is like playing with a plastic water bottle.

    Synthetic Gut vs Multi

I find synthetic gut to be less durable than multis... the crosses cut into the mains much faster for me. Try Pro Supex Maxim Touch.

    Dead poly and wrist pain?

I agree with rodrigal... even dead synthetic causes my elbow to tingle... when you start feeling pain, it's an indicator that the string is REALLY OLD.

Is Pro Hurricane Tour an arm friendly string?

Most people would say that PHT is harsh on the arm, but I've found it to be quite forgiving, even at slightly higher tension. I've never actually played with it on my own racket, but I have borrowed other people's rackets with PHT, who have strung them at 58 lbs+. No arm issues, and I love the...

    Best string for topspin?

+1 for Tour Bite... I have a friend who uses Tour Bite at 60 on a BLX 90... he plays once or twice a week and breaks them once every six months. Heavy topspin player with a kick serve.

    PHT 17 setup for PDGT

I'm back to my PDGT after trying so many other rackets... I'm deciding to go with a full bed of PHT 17. I'm currently using Hurricane Feel 17/Addiction 16 at 57/56 and find that after a few hours, my shots go flying because of tension loss. I didn't like the feel of the setup either. About...

    RPM Blast Tension Question

I use an oversized racket and usually string synthetic (17g) at 62 or 16g at 61. When I used RPM Blast 17 mains with Addiction 17 crosses, I went with a setup of 58/60 and it played very well. I was able to get plenty of spin and had very good control on my shots. It was a very comfortable hit...

RPM Blast - Full Bed or Hybrid?

Update on my RPM Blast... So my setup of RPM at 58 lbs (M) and Addiction at 60 lbs (C) feels absolutely dead at 5 hours. I can't feel where the ball is going, so I'm assuming the RPM has lost a lot of playability or it is dead. I can only feel Addiction on the crosses now. If I hit a ball above...

RPM Blast - Full Bed or Hybrid?

Drakulie, does Black Magic feel plasticy/tinny like MSV Focus Hex? How comfortable is it compared to the RPM? Darkhors: In terms of feel, how close is Cyclone to RPM Blast? Are they pretty much similar or can you totally tell it is something different?

RPM Blast - Full Bed or Hybrid?

Thanks everyone. I ended up stringing RPM Blast at 58 on the mains and Babolat Addiction 16 at 60 on the crosses. Felt really good for the first hour or so, but then I immediately noticed tension loss after that point. Drakulie was right, it didn't give me much more control that my current...

RPM Blast - Full Bed or Hybrid?

It's an oversized Head Ti. S1 Elite... I'm sure no one's heard of it. I'm looking to go with a 100 sq inch racket if I can't find a string setup that will give me enough control with my current racket.

RPM Blast - Full Bed or Hybrid?

I picked up a package of Babolat RPM Blast 17 today, hoping that it would give me a little bit more control than my current setup of Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17 at 61/63 without sacrificing power. I also picked up a set of Babolat Addiction 16. With that being said, does RPM play better as a full...

Received racket with a broken string

I just received my demo racket only to discover that the string was broken. What can I do now? I do not want to send the racket back in forth, as I am planning to buy the racket ASAP. I string my own rackets so installing synthetic gut at mid tension would not be a problem. Or do I need to...

Looking for soft, lower powered poly for oversized racket

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking at RPM blast too but a lot of people have said that it is mushy? Is that true at all?

Looking for soft, lower powered poly for oversized racket

I've recently picked up some lighter oversized frames and decided that it suited my game better than some heavier midplus frames. I'm currently playing with a Head Ti. S1 Elite, which probably wouldn't sound familiar to most people. It's head size is 107 sq. in, 16x19 pattern, 10.8 oz, head...

    Bad String Job

Perhaps his machine wasn't calibrated properly the first time he strung your racket. Machines that aren't calibrated on a regular basis often give inaccurate tensions.

Arm problems with Babolat Pure Drive Lite?

I used to use a PDGT before it started giving me shoulder/elbow pain. The only thing I was able to use was a multifilament at 60 lbs. If it was strung lower, I'd have too much power and anything higher would aggravate my shoulder. I've tried out other more arm friendly rackets from other...

    03 white change

Just curious as to why you're looking for a new racket when you seem to really like your O3 white. What does the O3 white lack, or what don't you like about it?

Babolat RPM vs Technofibre black code

I'd imagine that Black Code (which is pentagonal, not octagonal) would give you more spin. The less sides to a string (pentagon has five sides), the more spin in my experience. RPM blast looks just like black Pro Hurricane Tour. Black Code bites so much better than PHT, which is 8 sided. Only...

    Colored multis affect playability?

In my experience, natural plays softer, while red plays crisper and stiffer. My preference is red since I prefer strings that are a little stiffer. Other than the fact that one is stiffer than the other, the two play the same.

Suggestions for a stiffer synthetic / multi

Multifeel plays A LOT crisper with more than Addiction, though just as soft... I hate the mushy feeling of addiction. String it at any tension.. high or low, and it's one of the best feeling multifilaments IMO. I strung it at 55 lbs on my PDGT once and was amazed at how much control I got even...

    Oversized rackets and string gauge

If you've ever used an oversize racket, do you prefer it strung with thicker strings, or thinner strings? Is it just me or do 16 gauge strings on an oversize (107 sq in+) give a more solid feel? 17 gauge definitely bites the ball a bit better, but I don't use much spin in my game. 17 gauge...

    Babolat Synthetic Gut

Amen to that. Probably the worst synthetic gut I've every played with. I think I like tournament nylon better.

Average Time To String Tennis Rackets

I use a Gamma X-2 and have been stringing for 5 months. First job took me five hours (too many mistakes!). I'm down to about 35 minutes per racket now (synthetics and multifilaments). With hybrids, it takes me about 45-50 minutes, as I have to measure out string from two different sets/reels...

Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 Tour stringing instructions

Thanks Jack, I'll give it a try. I've put lead at 3 and 9 but wasn't as happy as when I put it at 12. Will try again though.

First Timer - Need Help with SP Swing & Dunlop 300T

Yeah, I thought so at first too but it actually does pretty well. Just be careful not to run into your stringer and cause it to collapse.
