Djokovic v The Finger Lady - LOL

True this. I was thinking exactly this when he lost the match he should have won. Karmic justice in the way he shanked the last point similar to Roddick in 09.

Who will win Wimbledon. Can't see anyone apart from Novak or Federer or maybe Nadal if the draw works out

20-20-20 heading into the US Open

Logic says Rafa should win it and I'll be happy if he does. But we can always expect the unexpected from Novak. No imagining the roar or any other crazy thing that he would do if he wins.

20-20-20 heading into the US Open

I watched Rafa's matches and he didn't seem to be playing at his best. Novak always brings it on in the big matches. Moreover he will want revenge for FO 2020, so gonna be a tight match. If Rafa loses the first set, Novak will smell blood.

The CYGS didn't occur to me. If it happens, nothing beats it.

20-20-20 heading into the US Open

I am not a Djokovic fan, but just exploring a very interesting possibility. If Djokovic wins on Friday it becomes a probability.

20-20-20 heading into the US Open

Everyone seems to think Rafa is going to win 21 at RG but I am not convinced by his matches so far. Djokovic will give him a tough fight and might win it. If he beats Rafa, he is a sure bet to beat the Next gen guy who makes the final. Assuming Djoko pulls the rabbit out of the hat at RG and...

You have to bet a $1,000, how does Federer do at 2021 Wimbledon?

Winning the championship! In a way, Fed withdrawing from the FO is like Nadal skipping USO last year. Fed is making sure he saves his best for Wimbledon. He's the second favourite and has a good chance of pulling it off.

Norrie will finish what Gasquet started

Legend has it that Norrie has been preparing for this very moment for the past 5 years. He knew deep within that this day would come and he would slay the Mightiest at RG!!!

    Nadal is Mythical AF :)

That 30-15 backhand miss at 4-2 in the fifth set at AO 2012 will always disturb me. Can't believe he missed it. Anyway, that's life. Happy that he has 20 now with a chance to increase it!

Basic Logic 101: Why people who claim this is a very weak era are wrong.

There's a saying in sports that you can only beat what or who is in front of you (Baghdatis Gonzales, Anderson, Ferrer, Del Potro, Old Fed). It doesn't matter as every win counts. So, all talk of weak eras don't cut it when we get down to the stats after a player's career is done.

    Strange/weird/odd/shocking things in tennis

Murray had a 8-6 head to head record against Federer at the end of 2010 i.e. when Fed was at his peak ;)

Does Federer break make Olympics and USO hopes more likely?

2017 Wimbledon Djokovic retired because of his injury but he played in AO17 and lost to Istomin. Same in AO18. It's not like he didn't play and Fed doesn't win if he plays

Does Federer break make Olympics and USO hopes more likely?

I agree with the OP. This break would put Federer in good shape for the second half of the year. He'll be going for Wimbledon and the Olympics specifically. The last time he took a break he won the AO and Wimbledon, so I am not counting him out of anything just yet.
