Agree, even if you'll have a lot of replies like "men's tennis is more competitive" and so on...

PC 600 with LM technology hybrid

Marius, I replaced the CAPs of my Prestige Pro with the iPrestige ones. The difference was around 7 grams in weight, and the swingweight went down from 333 to 323. Hope it helps, Sandro

To those who use Leather Grips with no Overwrap

Gosh... I do... nothing! The Fairway's on my Volkl are 1+ year old, and would say still "perfect". Now I use the Vantage, and found no problem yet. Anyway my palm doesn't swet, it's more the foreharm so I use long wristband.

5 grams of lead making a difference

Pecos, put the racquet on the edge of a table, with the butt off. Find the balance point and measure the distance from the butt end and the table edge...

    Grip shape and volleys

I found the Head-Volkl grip "better" for serves, volleys and extreme topspin groundstrokes (like full western grips).

5 grams of lead making a difference

It makes a difference of inertia (or swingweight) as noted. 5 grams at, let's say, 60 cm from the butt cap do the following: 5/1000 * (60-10)^2 = 12.5 increased units for the swingweight it makes the racquet a new, different one.

    Dampeners, yes or no?

used to put dampeners, mostly for the sound but also liked the feeling. then went back playing with Prestige, C-10, Vantage and now I can't put a dampener on the strings... It simlpy "feels" wrong. Of course, just a matter of preference.

few hours with my new Vantage

Finally checked the swingweight on a Bab Rdc machine: well, I'm very surprised as it's only 303. So the actual specs are: 100sqi 27" 16x19 63 ra 348gr strung 31.5 cm strung 303 swingweight

Why is it that 40+ players usually like lighter rackets?

Coria, with your nikname you can search for some "extra help" (no offense intended, it's a joke!)... At 37 I perfecly understand your point... :(

mctennis, that's right: my racquets arrived with the stencils. arifed, I started to play FIT tournaments 4 years ago. Next year I'll start 4.4 (missed few points for 4.3). As you can see, not a big deal :-(

few hours with my new Vantage

Ciao, I'm in Padova. E tu? I got the pack (2 racqs + 6 strings + racq-bag + overgrips) 4 working days after I placed the order. The packaging was perfect, no problem at all; no extra-custom, no surprises (well, there was something, but... it was fine...). Before placing the order I got some...

few hours with my new Vantage

all I have to say is that I like a lot this frame*! Well, it doesn't shine in any particular aspect, but it's very good on everything. The kind of racquet you pick up, play and say "well... it's ok... no problem...", and in the meanwhile the results are very very good, you simply don't get huge...

    Madrid Masters cancels doubles

Well, it's hard, no doubt. At least, when the Doubles will be spun-off they will be forced to act and find the right formulas to survive. Right now they just live in the shadows of the Singles.

    Madrid Masters cancels doubles

If I was the ATP GM, I would "spin-off" the doubles activity. Just create an ATP-X only for doubles with its own structure, tournaments and so on. Of course, you will not get any big name of singles playing this new league (who cares anyway?), but this would allow a better and more...

    Somewhat of an odd question..

The heavier racquet could help to force a proper swing, and not getting lazy.

Who Smashed His Racket The Hardest/Most Sensational???

Just for fun, a couple of years ago I saw Canè in a local tournament. He launced his racquet against the fences, but there was a wall hidden by the green net, so the racquet broke instead of bouncing back. His face was sooo funny, he started laughing...
