Got my email yesterday. (Thanks, TW. :))

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

+1. I've only read one 200 Tour player on TT complain about string breakage.

    Dunlop bio 200 tour v 4D 200 tour

What impressed you most about the bio 200 tour? What racquet(s) have you been using? Thanks.

    Unstrung vs strung balance

With that small head size, I expect the headlight-ness will come down by about 3 pts. The strings you use will make a small difference. (Poly and gut weigh more than multis and syns, typically.) Gauge too.

How do I initialize or 'scrub' a hard disk

Thanks, all, for the tips. (I meant to reply earlier but this week has been hella busy.) Just to clarify, the overwriting will affect only the user areas of the disk -- not the areas used by the operating system, etc.? What about user-installed program files? Should I uninstall them?

How do I initialize or 'scrub' a hard disk

I'm not sure what the technical term is, but what I'm planning to do is donate an old laptop of mine and before I do that, I want to remove all my personal files, data, etc., from the hard drive so no-one can access it. Can anyone give me some pointers or tell me how to do this? Many thanks.

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

I agree with goosala. I would only add that, with its box beam and other design elements, the Tour has much more feel than the BLX 6.1 95 and it cuts through the air noticeably easier. If you hit them side by side, the differences will be quite apparent.

    Babolat VS by Balmforth ??

Were the Bab VS Balmforths equivalent to the Fairways in quality, feel, tack, etc.? Thanks.

    Babolat VS by Balmforth ??

Ahah! I might have known you'd know, vsbabolat. :)8) Were they equivalent to the Fairways in quality, feel, tack, etc.?

    Babolat VS by Balmforth ??

I'd never seen this leather grip before -- and never read about it on these boards. Have you? Anyone care to guess the racquet it's on?

Who else WANTS that box beam 95? (badly?)

That's an interesting conjecture. I wonder if Wilson is planning to do just that... Lol.... :)

Any new rackets from Pro Kennex?

Gee, that's a good looking bag. How is the quality of the materials and construction? As ollinger said above, updates to their web site often take years -- it's amazing, really, in this day and age.

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

Well, it might be time to demo the Bio Tour, then. :) I found the crispness of the Tour's stringbed response really deelish. And (in the right hands) it has the potential to really hurt the ball.

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

Fed, I didn't hit the Tour and my kps88 side by side, but now that you mention it, I'm thinking the Tour would be a good demo for you to consider. I'd be very interested in your comments.

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

I imagine it'll feel more polarized, since weight has been added to the hoop and handle but probably not the throat. Yes, I demoed the Bio 200 Tour last month. Wrote up my impressions here: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=395971

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

I agree. It's one of the few racquets that, in stock form, gives you an idea of what the pros are playing with, sw-wise -- even if the sw is not as high as many pros use, it's up there. The 345 sw does limit its appeal for many of us non-pros, though. Then again, the 4D 200 Tour (at 352 sw)...

Not Happy with first Racquet buying experience with TW

I can understand your disappointment and frustration, especially as this was your first time buying brand new sticks. Switching mains and crosses is not inconsequential; it's significant. How you interpret what's happened -- what you say to yourself and to others about it -- will (very likely)...

Right on, JGads. Very well said.

TW Review: Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Tour

Yes, the 345 sw gives me pause as well. Dunlop having reduced the sw of the regular 200 from 337 (4D) to 322 (Bio), I was hoping that they would drop the Tour's sw into the 330s. I imagine they decided to not mess with what's been a very successful and popular design. Very much agree with Chris...

Any new rackets from Pro Kennex?

JGads and Gee, Thanks for the comments about the BA325. At one point I was very tempted to get one from TW Europe -- just as well I didn't because the difference in feel that you described would have been very disappointing. I love my BA93! :)

Does Natural Gut compensate for dead poly?

I'm not a string breaker. I've found the playability of POSG lasts a long time. I've bought old racquets strung with it and the strings have still played well after many, many years.

What racquet head size and string tensions? Thanks.

    Closest thing to natural gut?

If these characteristics are what you most value about gut, I would first look at the cheaper guts (the Performaxx suggested by pvaudio, for instance). Only gut has the elasticity that gives the dwell time/pocketing you mentioned -- and its tension/playability maintenance is unmatched by...

    ***Dunlop 4D 200 Tour*** Club!!

Haha, I didn't even notice that... Btw, when I've used poly mains/multi crosses in the 4d 200 tour, I strung them at 49/49. That tension worked well. (I've moved away from poly mains now, though, for less stress on arm and shoulder.)

I started at 60 and had the same experience as you. Dropped the tension to 56 and have been very happy since.
