Pure Aero 100 or 98 for an APDO user?

Like you said, no sub for demoing. I prefer serving with tweeners since I’m not that tall and want the extra help, spin, etc but the PA98’s spin helps me on serve more than control frames. The only Aero-esque stick I’ve loved on flat serves is the Carve AllCourt 100, which is basically an APDO...

    Official Diadem Axis Thread

I’m about to get a second PA98 soon, but I can get two Axis 98’s for a little more w/ my sponsorship. Really curious how this stacks up shot by shot; haven’t heard too much noise from reviewers about this one…

Pure Aero 100 or 98 for an APDO user?

Gonna throw my 2¢ here. Roughly 5.0 level player, lefty, 1HBH. Currently using the PA98; used the PA100 for a year before switching between the PA98 & EZ98, then sticking with the PA98. PA100 is fantastic. It’s a great blend of tweener power with good control/precision from the APD-style...

    Tsitsipas Blacked out racket!

This is a PA98. Don’t see how y’all are confused about this

    Diadem Elevate V3 Series

That’s nowhere close to a modern spin tweener…more like a forgiving player’s frame with some free power

    Diadem Elevate V3 Series

16x20 too. I’m guessing this “Axis” is their PA98 answer…unless they gave us the 100” 16x20 spin racket I’ve been hoping somebody would make…

EZONE 98 — Two years later

Meant to tell you to try the EZ100. Add a leather grip if you like more HL. Lower tension = less stringbed stiffness/rigidity. Handle weight/leather = higher recoil weight = lower perceived impact of vibration. EZ100’s already super stable so no point in adding weight in the head. It takes...

EZONE 98 — Two years later

Add a leather grip and try a lower tension…with EZ’s it doesn’t matter too much since their strings barely move You should. Great racket It’s that 16x20 pattern. Really helps control on flat shots That, its high twistweight, normal throat beam thickness, etc.

EZONE 98 — Two years later

I’m mostly an aggressive baseliner/allcourter. Aero 98’s great for heavy spin and flatter shots, but you need conventionally good technique to tap into that (look at Alc, Rune, Fils, etc). EZ98’s better for more “next-gen” technique—Kygs, Shelton, etc Tbh the EZ100 does everything ppl who want...

EZONE 98 — Two years later

Somewhat. Kept the TW low. Aero 98’s better for my swing style, but the EZ98 is the best at what it’s designed to do. Nothing else comes close in terms of playability for its SW/TW

EZONE 98 — Two years later

My blue one is at 338/32.3cm/about 330SW, my Aqua is stock and underspec (316/32.5/around 310SW). Boutta sell em bc I recovered my stolen Pure Aero 98. I return WAY better with that than either EZ.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Wilson Clash v3

Never been a fan of the Clash line but I’m curious how the new 100 Pro plays. Mainly curious just for the fact that it’s a 100” 16x20 tweener

EZONE 98 — Two years later

EZ98’s excel with that super HL balance. Also much prefer the new ones over the DR98—never liked the feel or the crazy throat flex… I’m not OP but FWIW I’ve tried a bunch of weight setups on my EZ98’s…I like em the best with weight at 4,8, & 12 but they play best w/o head weight. Crazy stable...

    Pure Strike 2024

If you have the same swing path all the time, Strike is easier, but the Aero works better if you switch between swinging straight through the ball and buggy whipping. Higher twistweight than the Strike

    Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

V similar but not the same. Gravity’s slightly wider at 10 & 2. Also drill pattern & throat beam shape is slightly different.

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

    Racket’s unstable/shaky against heavy balls.

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

I played D3 w/ EZ98 v7’s and Pure Aero ‘23’s. I play very well w/ the EZ but I still hate the feel. Nothing wrong with it, I just prefer to use stuff I play well with and get stringbed feedback from, hence the Babolat switch. I’ve gotten my PA’s stolen multiple times but they always left my EZ’s….

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

Makes the racket feel like a wet 2x4. EZ’s playability is high enough it almost doesn’t matter but there’s no feel

They still have VDM…annoying Hopefully the 98’s aren’t anemic this gen

New frames similar to Pure Storm?

Closest thing is the Diadem Elevate Tour. Very open 16x20 but plays similar otherwise

That PJ is dope. And the 98 is 16x20? Now I really wanna try one. Hopefully I got in!

    Next Gen Ezone (2024)

Never measured it. Customized by feel & measured it at the shop yesterday. It’s 339g with OG and full Confidential 1.30. Blue one is 338g, same OG & string. Blue mods: -2g in throat -1.5g at 12 -about 5g at 4 & 8 Blue was on spec. Aqua mods: -6g in throat -1.5g at 12 -about 5.5g at 4 & 8...

Dang I hope not. Would be cool if they went more in the direction of the Xi or at least kept it where it is w/ more ball feel

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Babolat Pure Drive 2025

Yea the PD98 serves flat way better. I still serve decent flat serves w/ the Aero. For me it doesn’t matter as much since my serve only tops out around 105mph (on my EZ98’s) so I mostly kick it. Both of em hit ridiculous kick serves, but I never double fault w/ the Aero

    Next Gen Ezone (2024)

Gonna echo everybody else’s experience here. My aqua EZ98 is way underspec. Ended up having to put 3 layers of lead tape in the throat, weight at 6 & under the grip to match my blue EZ98.

What is your favorite racquet ever?

Yonex VCore Duel G 97. Used one from my friend in high school when I couldn’t afford a racket. Everything I hit turned to gold with that thing. Easily the best feeling racket I’ve hit, Ultra Pro/H19’s and 1st gen Diadem Elevate aside.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Babolat Pure Drive 2025

Agreed on the strings; I’m not a huge string breaker but I notched 1.30 poly in about 15mins w/ the PD98. It’s a great racket IMO, only problem is the Aero 98 is better. I’m excited that the new one is 16x20 and rlly want to try it. My only concern is that it won’t be different enough from the...

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

Generally true, but this gen of EZ’s been all over the place. I’ve owned at least 5 of em and they all had drastically different SW’s
  29. B

    8th Gen Yonex Ezone

Gotta customize it. I added weight on mine in the throat, at 4 & 8 plus a bit at 12. If nothing else try the weight at 4 & 8—EZ98 v7’s lack weight in the lower hoop…too flimsy if you don’t have that short, violent Kygs FH. The weight helps the racket not feel like it’s collapsing on itself when...
