    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Happy to announce yet another Pro Player switching to Grapplesnake! Vivien Sandberg, from Germany, current WTA #462 (best so far #449) and rising FAST. She was also a collegiate athlete and played Division I for Nebraska (UNL) not too long ago, before going Pro. Super excited! Vivien comes from...

I think you'll definitely improve comfort and probably increase some power as well. The mildly abrasive surface will make a minor difference in spin. For more of a difference in that department, Paradox Pro has a much grittier surface. Enjoy!

Agree with what others have said. Give it some time. That time will depend on your racquet head speed and how hard you hit. It will settle for the long haul from there. Otherwise, as you stated, start with a lower tension.

    I do like the combination.

I enjoyed that frame back then almost ten years ago when it came out. I have to say, I haven't played with it in a long time. It will depend on what you're looking for. The racquet provides a lot of spin and power, and I would personally choose to tame it, reduce power a bit and add as much...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

You'll get almost no locking of mains and crosses; things will slide much better. Many people like Irukandji in a dual-poly hybrid, often when using our sharpest strings in the mains, but the majority use it with gut or multi mains. I personally feel that Irukandji is especially great with gut...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Nothing wrong with having a couple of frames with each string for a while longer, using the most appropriate string for any given scenario - fresh vs more tired, feeling that you're playing great vs feeling that you need an easier setup this day. Ultimately, in the long run you will find...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Amazing. Thank you!!! You know, this is just me, but I have always preferred keeping the stringbed consistent at one reference tension (unless it's a hybrid), and, for that matter, stringing single piece, even if I have to go around the world. This is with a good understanding of the potential...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Maybe bump up the tension a good 4 lb so you can be in the same playing field as the folks with electronic tension heads giving tension advice etc. This might be the root of the problem, and your tension is just getting too low due to the much different starting point compared to the rest of us...

Haven't tested the new Ezone yet, but to me the outgoing one and the couple iterations before that one have been pretty tension-sensitive (with any string) and I don't enjoy it below 51 or over 53. Very narrow range, at least to me.

Yes, perhaps the mild shape of M8 along with its playing qualities is the ticket in your case.

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

I am pleased and a little surprised to see so much praise for Alpha. I think it's outstanding and has been flying a bit under the radar here in the forum. It is, as many of you state, a very easy string to use that fits many levels of play. Doesn't develop as much pocketing as other models, but...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Maybe your playing style is more compatible with either a round or a mildly shaped string. An aggressively shaped square profile can take some time to get used to. I like your initial tension at 50, and maybe hit with it for longer until you can acclimate to it and allow it to develop its...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Totally depends on the player's needs. Mako and Aspera could be perfect for a player at any level that likes a more powerful string; maybe for the 4.0 that needs more depth compared to M8, or for the open level player who wants to get an edge in power (and spin in Aspera) in an environment where...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Good info here in general, folks. Keep it coming and we should be reading more comments on Aspera in the next few days based on all the orders that have arrived to their destination after the string being released and people putting hours into it. Many differences in preferences depending on the...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

I would try the neon hybrid for a medium stiffness string that's sharp and will increase your launch angle a bit. Aspera is soft.

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Comparable to a "normal" 1.25 mm approximately. Players have been asking for YEARS to get a sharp, square, thinner string. This, because it helps minimizing the characteristic "muted" feel and relative firmness of this geometry. We delivered this and so many other things with Aspera Triplum...

    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

Hey! Both Aspera and silver Mako are indeed softer than M8, so, given your scenario, bump up the tension in those around 4 or even 5 lb versus what you were using in M8. Then, I would offer three suggestions: increase your M8 tension in a meaningful yet not excessive way, i.e. around 3 lb to...

Not very soon in the super low powered area like Tour M8, but I encourage you to try Aspera Triplum. We put a lot of effort into it, and it's truly exceptional.

Not really very close. We make softer strings in general. Lots of years of advancements since 4G, as good as it is.
