Hybrid: Which one is better setup,Multi/Poly or Poly/Multi?

Cont... Shaped poly mains/round poly crosses: Another nice setup for poly lovers. Shaped polys like focus hex, snakebite, etc, dig into the ball well and generate what can be mind boggling amounts of spin. A smooth cross rather than shaped makes it easier for mains to shift out and...

Hybrid: Which one is better setup,Multi/Poly or Poly/Multi?

Lets go over the different setups and what they can do for you: Multi mains and ploy crosses: Multifilaments are designed for comfort above all else, with a secondary benefit of having slightly better tension maintenance than syngut. Poly is the compromise between the stiffness of Kevlar...

my 10 yr old son hates string movement

Your son is 10. He hasn't learned to deal with certain emotions yet. Tell him to suck it up. The reason poly can hurt you has little to do with technique and more to do with shock load. Poly's stiffness transfers more impact energy to your body. Compounding the issue is the low power makes...

What are some of your favourite book series?

The dune series, hunger games, complete works of Sir Aurthur Conan Doyle, The Destroyer (Remo Williams), Harlen Coben' s books, and while not a series, Randy Wayne White writes good material.

two 4.5s play a tiebreak against a current ATP pro...what's the score?

The video we' 're all waiting for is still being edited. I was making a joke that, now that I've had to explain, is no longer a joke.

Pros using silcone spray on their strings

I feel it's necessary to point out, after reading some questions and misinformation that... Pure silicone does not attract dirt Oil does WD40 is NOT silicone. While the ingredients are proprietary, it is in fact an oil based mixture. (On a side note, don't use WD on your sliding glass door...

    Insomnia help

Sorry but chemicals are not the answer. You said you had anxiety and insomnia without saying why. People don't just get anxious or have trouble sleeping for no reason. If you're worried, confront the issue. If you're just not tired, spend an hour exercising or doing something really...

    New coach, new tennis

I think what your new coach is trying to point out is, playing the aggressive, power game is only going to get her so far. He wants your daughter to keep the power and aggressive nature of her game, while adding variety to keep her opponents guessing.

Who would win: 67 Jaguar or 2012 Camaro?

You knew how to click my name and read through my threads to find something boring when you were upset that I initially called this thread ridiculous but, don't know how to google, "1967 Jaguar"?

Because you have internet and fingers. Google it yourself.

How so? You asked which was the convertible. I just explained it was the XKE.

Who would win: 67 Jaguar or 2012 Camaro?

The XKE (or, E type) came in coupe and convertible. I consider them to be different cars because convertibles in general, handle very different than their hardtop counterparts and must be built with more structural reinforcements, making them heavier. There is also the MK2, which is the...

Who would win: 67 Jaguar or 2012 Camaro?

Ok, I apologize for upsetting you. So then, precisely which '67 jag are you referring to, because they made 3 different cars that year. The fact that just about any street car from 40+ years ago will have a huge disadvantage mechanically when compared to something made now notwithstanding...

    Video redux

Ask a professional photographer and he will tell you. In a nutshell, anyone has the right to photograph or videotape another person in public. If you want to sell, or use those images to promote your business, the people in the photos need to sign a release or you can be sued later on.

Personally, I read all my news. Television news just makes it too difficult to form a biased opinion.

Any cord cutters in the house?

We haven't had cable in our house in 3 years. Netsucks& Vudu are alright. I'm trying out amazon prime now, and the in-laws have Uverse with the sports pack so if I can't watch my F1/tennis online, it gets recorded over there.

If you were a tennis player, would you prefer to have Fed's style or Nadal's style?

I wish I played with people like that. A lot of the 50-75 year olds I play with can handle 100+ mph flat serves and topspin forehands well. A few of them are still serving 70-80ish on big points.

Switching from a Wilson BLX Six.One 95, racquet suggestions?

If you're playing with an 18x20, like the control, and find yourself getting plenty of spin, there's no advantage to a wider pattern. 12.5oz is certainly in the realm of possibly being too heavy for you if you feel that way. If you're in the market for a matched pair of quality older...

Switching from a Wilson BLX Six.One 95, racquet suggestions?

Ever watch golfers or baseball players warm up with weighted clubs/bats? Also, anything you get from Babolat, or any of those sub 11oz racquets for that matter are going to be stiffer and more powerful than your 6.1 95.

Switching from a Wilson BLX Six.One 95, racquet suggestions?

In all honesty, 11.5oz is not all that heavy. Is your shoulder hurting when you go for it on the first serve? I say this because not because most top level players and amateurs use racquets on the heavier side but, the lower the mass of your racquet, the more energy is transferred to your...

Will Nadal equal Sampras' record of 14 slams?

In all fairness, No one can really say for certain. He is only 26. Rafa could take the whole year off, play only on clay, and still be a heavy favorite to win the FO a couple more times before he retires.

    Slice Return

For me, I had to focus on leading with the hand and letting the racquet come around on it's own. Otherwise, I found myself taking too much of a backswing on the return.

    Racket head size?

To the average player, no. However: http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com/articles/2006/01/the_inch_that_changed_tennis_f.html It all boils down to how you play. If you have an average game, with average strokes, a larger head will give you more room for error with mis-hits. If you have...
