Was Jimmy Connors MISTAKEN OR CRAZY stating this ? How is it possible?

I think Connors is mistaken he used a continental or Aussie grip tweener between eastern and continental to serve, there is no way he could hit kickers with a full eastern and get enough spin.

Two handed back to one hand

Keep at it and get a copy of "Two handed Tennis " BY Jeffery E. McCullough book is a bit dated but it can help save your arm.

Was Jimmy Connors MISTAKEN OR CRAZY stating this ? How is it possible?

In his book "How to play tougher tennis " he states that he used the SAME GRIP for ALL his strokes thus never had to change it . This would be true if HE used a continental type grip but especially off the forehand side as discussed in earlier threads He used a full eastern verging towards (semi...

    New Roscoe Tanner Serve Video.

I don't write it off as an anomaly implying the freakish but rather a different technique. A different approach like the two handed backhand was once an anomaly cause you "don't have the good reach" whatever that really means to now being the norm .I don't buy on the current taught technique...

Connors' forehand is possibly the most underrated shot in tennis history

His serve wasn't weak his 1st serve pct was always in the 70's lots of spin mainly topspin or kick but lacked speed and power to ace people.

Connors' forehand is possibly the most underrated shot in tennis history

Connors inside out forehand was basically a low sidespin (watch some of his recorded matches) which when struck well would pull a righthanded player off wide eliciting a weak return then Connors would rip his daunted two hander for a winner down the line or approach cross court with his forehand.

    Roscoe Tanner's Big Serve

Tanner won a slam Australian beating Guillermo Villas and also beat everyone on tour including the #1s from Borg to Connors on tour . He didn't last long ? He had other personal issues which screwed up his career. Tanner found himself in the Wimbledon FINALS and was one up a set away from...

    New Roscoe Tanner Serve Video.

What is really glaring to me is his back shoulder to front shoulder angle at the trophy position is very shallow compared to todays servers . Compare this angle to Pete Sampras or Federer's. His TOSS arm does not seem to ever go above eye level either yet he hit bullets. His back leg lands...

Jimmy Connor's forehand grip...what was it?

Look at my avatar ... it is a blowup of Jimmy awaiting to return serve. The late Pancho Segura former Connors coach in his book "Championship strategy" who Jimmy is still very close friends with his son said it perfectly.Connors hits his forehand with a full eastern ever verging towards the...
