I'm a 3.5M that's played both 7.0 and 8.0 Mixed Doubles leagues, and with leagues starting in a month this is a cool and interesting read for sure.
Playing in the 7.0's I usually got paired with consistent but firepower lacking 3.0 ladies, so our strategy always hinged of finding the chink in...
In the Pittsburgh area a lot of the 3.5 players are self-rated players what belong in the 3.0 or 4.0 bracket, so 3.5 is a rather volatile rating as far as finding steady levels of competition. My 3.5 Team has won and gone to sectionals 3 out of the last four years and we've had a couple guys...
I've been using the Biomimetic 600 for 2 years now. Used the M 6.0 with some success also, but went back to the 600.
I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'll have to start looking at other brands. (Prior to my 2 years with the Bio 600 I was a Wilson fan)
My Zepp doesn't hold a charge anymore. :-/
And I'd love to take out the Sony for a spin, but none of my frames are "compatible".
Some of the other options also look enticing, I'm going to keep trying to resurrect the Zepp in the meantime.
Regarding the Poly String: I love it, have it on all my frames.
Regarding the Frame: Skip it. You're better off trying the Biomimetic 600 or the Biomimetic M6.0 and avoid the marketing inspired specs on the frame.
My current set-ups:
Dunlop Biomimetic 600 - Black Widow 16G @ 54 LBS
Dunlop Biomimetic 600 - Black Widow 16G @ 50 LBS
Dunlop Biomimetic M6.0 - Black Widow 16G @ 50 LBS
For singles play I use the 50LBS set-ups, for doubles I switch up to the 54LBS. I love this string. I dealt with...
Thanks Yinz.
I've been buying Bio 600's off of **** anytime I see 'em for $50 or less. But I'll definitely demo the Volkl V1 MP. The TW review makes it sound like an excellent racquet.
Thanks Again! :)
I play with the Biomimetic 600.
I bought a M 6.0 ... and I hated it.
I've started developing some TE due to a medical condition, so now I'm back to researching a frame that plays like the Biomimetic 600 but is more arm friendly.
I just strung one of the three frames I have at 45LBS with Wilson Spin Cycle for ***** & giggles ... and honestly, aside from the fact that the frame is less forgiving with that set up, the depth I was getting on my shots was impressive.
Thank you so much for this information, I honestly thought the printed specs (or published) specs had much lower tolerances for deviation. Definitely an eye opener!
And definitely good to know in one's search for the next frame of choice. :)
Hi Yinz. :)
I'm looking for a little guidance on how to use "lead tape" on my Yonex EZONE Xi Team+ 102. Listed at 10.0 oz with a 5 pts HL balance, I was hoping to bring the frame up to 10.4-10.5 oz with a 3-4 pts HL balance. Not sure if anyone has tried modifying one of these before...
I own a K Fierce FX which has the following specs:
[INDENT]
Headsize: 105
Weight: 9.6 ounces (unstrung)
Balance: 33.3 cm (4Pts HL)
Rec Tension: 53-63lbs
Pattern: 16X19
I just purchased a BLX Fierce FX online, specs look like this:
Headsize: 105
Weight: 9.5 ounces (unstrung)
Balance: 33.0 cm...
PS:
Closest thing in the "current racquets" market to the K Fierce FX is the:
Dunlop Biomimetic S6.0 Lite

or the
Prince EXO3 Red 105...
Hi Dave,
I have been playing with the Wilson K Fierce FX for the past one and a half years, and I can definitely confirm that the racquetfinder.com information is a little off.
Here are the specs for the K Fierce FX directly from the frame:
Headsize: 677cm2 | 105in2
Weight: 272grams |...
