    Racket matching help.

Keep in mind, if you add 2 grams to tip of one racquet, you are increasing swing weight by about 6 points. Not a huge deal, but you may notice a difference.

    Racket matching help.

You will have to add the same amount of weight to both. That is given. Although you may find if you strip both to bare frames (no strings or grips, and if you're really crazy, no bumper), there may be a weight difference between both. Then you will have to add weight to one frame to get the...

Wilson releasing Pro Staff 97S for Dimitrov (specs. included)

I was wondering the same thing. I think the answer is it depends. 20 grams spread along the entire handle will probably make the frame 4-6 points more HL, whereas 20 grams concentrated 1" from the bottom of the handle will have a greater impact on the balance and presumably make the frame play...

Head pro stock vs retail : question

Thanks for the good info. I noticed the retail has what appears to be a lead weight molded into the hairpin approximately 1 inch up from the bottom of the grip. I think this counterweight gives the IGRP the polarized feel (soft, spinny, relatively maneuverable) people either love or hate. I...

Head pro stock vs retail : question

What do people think about the feel/flex of the IG Radical Pro and how it compares to prostock/TGK models? The IGRP is probably one of the softest most arm friendly retail racquets I've played, and I've been playing 20+ years. It feels great when you add weight to the handle to make it 6-8 HL...

    Diary of a Racketaholic

Confirmed. I bought two. Good stable frames. Stiff though, even the lite version with RA 63.

My BLX Blade 98 cracked in half ...

My IG radical broke the exact same way when it flew out of my hand and hit the court during a serve. Both molds are similar...

Does getting one of those lite racquets and adding lots of lead etc make it good?

Unfortunately weight and RA may not tell the whole picture. Layup is an important factor in how a racquet feels and plays. I bought a couple Graphene Extreme Lites thinking I had found my new holy grail. They weigh 265 grams unstrung and have an unstrung RA of 63. I added roughly 30 grams of...

Did Ryan Harrison actually switch to Pure Drive or is it a pj?

If you look closely his stick's string pattern is different than the retail PD. I would be shocked if he was using a 70+ RA stick like the retail version...

    Bonjour from Babolat

Daniel, Is the 2014 pure control stiff or flexible? Your website lists it as RA 69 unstrung, but TW lists it as 62 strung (so let's assume 65 unstrung). What explains this difference? Are there manufacturing differences across different batches of frames? Are RA readings subject to...

    Tecnifibre Racquets - New racket

Wow quite some variance. I added 6 grams of lead to the head and a 6 gram overgrip and mine weighs in at 337 strung with tour bite 16L.

    Tecnifibre Racquets - New racket

Anyone hit with the 2015 tfight 300? I like the 22mm beam, 98" head, and 16x19 string pattern.

Head Youtek IG Radical Pro vs MP

You can wrap/install strips of lead under the replacement grip. You can also insert silicone or foam to the hairpin chambers.

Head Youtek IG Radical Pro vs MP

Add 6-12 grams of weight the the top of the rad pro's handle, either 7 inches from buttcap or spread along the entire grip. This effectively helps depolarize the racquet, and it will play better.

    Grommets on IG Radical Pro

Floyd is right. I have 2 sets of unused clear noncap (regular) "pro stock" grommets, but they are rare, so I won't let them go for cheap.

    Grommets on IG Radical Pro

Graphene radical grommets do not work. I already tried. Different head size and the tie off grommets are thicker/fatter so they do not fit through IG radical grommet holes.

    New murray grip

I always wonder about that. Murray is not the only one. Could it be to hide the throat, to make it less easy to detect that they are using paint jobs/different molds than the retail versions?

So I played with the 2015 Pure Drive today...

What about the flex? Any flexible/less stiff versions of the pure drive? And does the 2015 version have cortex?

    Flexible Racquets With Power

To echo several previous posters, the Radical IG Pro with some weight added to handle. Comfortable, stable, spin friendly, good power.

    Best Racquets for Baseliners/Big Servers?

Stifness (flex) and heft (weight) are not the same thing. I agree, it is not stiff, but it can be hefty (mine are 340 grams) with customization.

    Best Racquets for Baseliners/Big Servers?

Youtek IG Radical Pro. Soft, stable, spin friendly. Add lead/foam/silicone to upper part of handle and it plays even better.

    Racket Weight Distribution

Generally speaking, comparing two different racquets' weight, balance, and swingweight will give you an idea of degree of polarization. So, simplistically, racquet A that weighs 11 ounces, has a 6 HL balance, and swingweight 330 is more polarized than racquet B that weighs 11 ounces, has 6 HL...

Harrison's finally gone over to the dark side....

That would be awesome if the flex was in the low 60s/high 50s and a little more weight in the handle/a little less in the head.

Just tried Graphene Extreme MP & Lite

Agreed. I would probably fill one or both hairpin chambers with foam or silicone and add lead to the hoop to get the static weight around 330-340 grams and balance 5-7 points HL.

Just tried Graphene Extreme MP & Lite

The extreme lite's flex and low static weight make it a nice prospect for customization! I also like the 16x19 pattern with no shared holes.

    Head's Graphene Line

To the OP's question: seems like Head decided to increase the new frames' swingweight while keeping static weight low by polarizing the frames' weight distribution and using light but stiff material (graphene) in the throat area. Some people like it, some people don't. Stiff frames and stiff...

    Graphene Radical Rev ?

Pros have light, head heavy, high swingweight racquets, which are eventually customized to be heavier and more headlight by adding weight to the hairpin and head. Great platform racquet!
