Djokovic and Murray ranked the fastest players, Nadal ranks 12th, Federer 17th

These numbers are decieving.....tennis players are not sprinters ....this is probably speed for about 10 -15 yards tops.....not over 100m, so let's just pump the brakesa little

Andy Murray is officially an all time great now

I know its only 3 slams but the whole career with the double digit slam finals at all 4 , masters wins at multiple surfaces, olympic title and Davis cup.....in an era of 3 legends....strong case for him

Zverev V 19 year old Federer - Who would win?

Sick of these kind of threads.....they should have a fantasy secrion on this forum :)

Leander Paes selected for his 7th Olympics, Bopanna tried to snub him in favour of a journeyman

How/ Why did Paes' great partnership with Stepanek end.....any story there?

Is winning the Career GS , Olympics, Davis Cup a bigger deal now ?

than it was during the 80s to 2007....I think so because all these became important to create that differentiation between Federer and Nadal first, and then Djokovic. I remember nobody took the Australian open seriously until like the mid 90s.....Sampras, Becker, Edberg never really stressed out...

French open Semi Finals/ Finals schedule

Has there been any changes to the schedules or the tournament going forward with the original schedule. If so does it mean Serena and Novak need to play 4 continuous days (including finals)?

total disrespect for Murray at Rome

Agree with OP, was surprised Murry was playing in a 'common man's ' court

Why doesn't anyone hit moonballs to Nadal's backhand

LOL, in that case why even have these forums where everything is up for discussion......maybe you should set an example and say nothing :)

Why doesn't anyone hit moonballs to Nadal's backhand

I have seen Nadal live more than 10 times over the years....players think they have him beat on the FH and he returns with a loopy slowish cross court shot to the opponents BH and the point is reset right there.....watch todays match against Kohlshrieber for example......there isn't a lot of...

Why doesn't anyone hit moonballs to Nadal's backhand

of course not all are moon balls but a lot of them are, especially when he is a defensive position.....and he doesn't hit way high in the air , so the term moonball may not be accurate but you get the idea.....it just wears down opponents and completely neutralizes the point
  11. S

Why doesn't anyone hit moonballs to Nadal's backhand

and give him a taste of his own medicine.....because this strategy of his works well even against 2 handed BH righties....so i've always wondered why players don't do it back to him

Why are Masters tournaments not a complete 64 player draw?

any reason why the top 8 seeds get a bye .......doesn't seem like a big deal to play 8 more matches. anyone know?

Open 13 Marseille- it's difficult to see the ball on TV

i think in an effort to be flashy, the organizers messed up.....the Court color; a combination of light powder blue and light grey make it difficult to see the ball on tv , especially on serves and higher speed groundies......can't imagine how something this critical got overlooked

    Court level view

Best Court level view in any Grand slam or for that matter any ATP event was the Grandstand at the US open....spent so many days there over the years......unfortunately that court is gone now !

    Federer ends partnership with Edberg

Should have been the other Ivan......Lendl.....who helped Murray beat the thorn in Feds flesh....the Djoker :)
  16. S

Federer needs to take a page out of the Steffi Graf playbook

and that is to slice EVERY BH as low as possible against Djokovic. Its very clear the Djoker has an answer to everything Fed is throwing at him, but he does seem to be bothered , (if you watch carefully) when Fed hits some irregular awkward shots. Nothing is more provocative , when your...

    Who's the Goat of coaches

Hundreds of threads on the Goat among players.....so how about coaches then? Do the same criteria apply -Most GS titles - H2H records -Year end #1s -Weak/ Strong era :) What else and finally who is your Goat

Looks like Rafa will be serving pizza in Basel

....isn't that the winner does...anyway, Cilic was the most likely to beat....Gasquet and Fed do not present a challenge to him

The only way Djokovic doesn't win all 4 slams next year is if he loses to Wawrinka

OP, you'd have looked like a genius if you'd have posted this last year.....now its kinda lame

Nadal - 'playing Novak at these tournaments good practice for 2016'

i think this thread is just meant antagonize Nole fans.....for someone who lost to players who were previously his bunnies (Raonic, Berdych, Lopez etc.), playing Djokovic and doing ok is a positive

Didn't Flavia Pennetta retire for good

I saw the post match studio interview too and at no point remember her saying she was playing rest of the year......all i remeber is her , Cris Evert and Pam Shriver giggling about things she can do now and how life will be like a unending vacation and stuff like that........anyway looks like...

Didn't Flavia Pennetta retire for good

huh, i never heard her say she will play rest of the year....she clearly said she was retiring on the spot.......this made headlines, comparing her to Bartoli and Sampras for retiring after winning a slam. Really wierd......but Europens in general need some english coaching :)

Didn't Flavia Pennetta retire for good

so what is she doing in China. I thought she said USO final was her last match ....or was it some 'lost in translation' kinda thing....i'm not surprised she is back since milking it for a year seems like the smart thing to do but didn't know about her plan to un-retire

Could Federer himself be threatening his own legacy?

Seemed like a legit original post by OP OP until he said Dustin Brown.......really , that was not necessary....lol

ESPN first take debate over Serena/Sharapova Endorsement $$

just seeing this video,, both smith and bayless dished out a lot pc bs....the comparison to male atheletes was also misplaced......fact is male atheletes are marketed for their physical prowess to sell shoes and gear and female atheletes are marketed for overall appeal. also, serena still makes...

Federer's 'keep the points short' strategy is flawed...

at least against Novak and earlier against Rafa. These 2 have won a few matches against Fed from losing positions simply because of Fed's high risk strategy of ending the points soon: result was a flurry of unforced errors handing back the advantage. What it also showed is Fed's lack of stomach...

What if Novak wins 18 majors but without the French?

    wil he still be GOAT?

Who else loved and will miss the Grandstand court

Totally agree with some of the comments above: Rest assured the USTA will screw up with the new grandstand and all it will be is a bigger Court 17, and the sun will be brutal as well
  29. S

Now Fed has the same issues with Novak that he had with Rafa

in short self belief....even when he has the upper hand he makes bad errors (that he doesn't make against any other players) and lets Nole (and Rafa in the past) back in. He just doesn't have the stomach to back himself as a 17 major winner and bulldoze his authority on the match. Nole is strong...
