2025 ProKennex Black Ace 300 Specs

Replaced the stock buttcap w/ a Prince buttcap (P for PK ;)), and so far so good. Staples were a PITA to get out until I hit them w/ a heat gun to soften the plastic around them, then an awl was easy to get underneath to pry them out. The PK stock buttcap weighs 8.4g, and the PK kinetic...

2025 ProKennex Black Ace 300 Specs

Way easier for sure, but I want to be able to fine-tune the amount of weight I'm adding. Currently I'm wrapping the handle w/ lead but being able to just add putty in a trap door would be so much easier.

Thanks for this info. I'm seriously considering replacing my buttcap, but wasn't sure the best way to secure it.

2025 ProKennex Black Ace 300 Specs

Maybe it's cuz I come from a low-powered frame (Vcore Pro 97) but I can't even imagine adding 10g to 3&9 on this; it'd be too much for me. With 2g each at 3&9 and a dampener, mine is at 338 SW. Borderline too much already for my game.

Not sure if my buddy sold it already, but I'll ask him

Poor quality of rackets --- widespread issue

The face of the buttcap was clearly off-angle even w/ the trapdoor removed

Unfortunately everyone has a different tolerance for static weight differences. Also consider your level of play and the opponents you typically face. I have the BAP 300 and have been slowly adding lead for more comfort and stability on off-center defensive shots.

No one here was even trying to sway you away from Head, and no one else was trying so hard to defend a brand. You do you (y)

Poor quality of rackets --- widespread issue

Everyone has their own standards of acceptability. In this case for me it's less about the defect rate, and more about the nature and severity of the defect. I doubt I'd be alone in questioning a manufacturer's QC process if even just .1% of the frames they shipped had a visually-obvious...

Poor quality of rackets --- widespread issue

To me it's a tell that Head's QC process is unable to flag a defect that could be found by a simple visual inspection by a human.

Poor quality of rackets --- widespread issue

He's moved on to a PA98. Differences in static weight, balance, SW, etc I can understand, but the fact that that even passed QC to end up on the shelves is... telling?

Yessir. Bought brand new and he's not a racquet thrower. He didn't even know; I found out when I was taking SW, balance, and static weight readings for him.

Best Racquet for previously injured wrist?

Had to go to PT for 3 months last year after injuring my wrist. Switching to a Head Velocity MLT / Yonex PolyTour Air hybrid setup and adding 4g to the buttcaps of my 2021 Vcore Pro 97s allowed my wrist to heal while starting to play again. Still using that setup pain-free.

Poor quality of rackets --- widespread issue

Buddy of mine has a Head Speed Pro that can't even be balanced upright (for example on a small scale to weigh) because the buttcap isn't 90º to the handle. Laughable QC.

Agreed, stock SW is up there. I think this is going to make for a good platform frame for me since I'm looking to make tennis easier while retaining comfort & control. Initial impressions after a hitting session were that this does need some mass added, as I had developed more callusing in my...

2025 ProKennex Black Ace 300 Specs

Hey all, I just got this frame and wanted to share some measured specs to maybe speak to PK's current QC standards. This is a 100sq-in 16x19 frame w/ a constant 21mm beam and 58 RA. Swing weights measured w/ my Briffidi SW1: Spec Published Measured/Calculated Static Weight (g) 300 300.8...
