Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

I had a look at this - My current favourite set-up is a full bed of Multifeel, Triax looks to have less spin, more tension loss and lower powered (lower energy return, higher stiffness) also it is quite a lot more expensive in the UK so I think it is worse for me, have you played both to give a...

Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

I think this may be too low powered for me just because it's a poly. No info on TU string database but I've been playing well with a full bed of technifibre multi-feel recently so and combo with poly may be too low powered for me now...

Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

I use this a lot, I started with kevlar/zx for quite a long time but in a powerful frame. Most recently tried it with pro's pro black code a s a main and it was too low powered. Tried with a multi in the main and I like it but the strings mis-align after every hit quite badly. I'm ruling it out...

Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

Cost and I'm in the UK - it's going to get wet soon over winter. Also I've just switched from full poly so need to understand what works for me - I'm still cutting out new stringjobs I don't like after 10 min use so there is a chance the gut would have to get cut out as well!

    Pro's Pro strings

It's probably worth looking at the string database, pick a multi with a low string to string friction - then look at stiffness, energy return, tension loss to see if its similar to a string you already like. Babolat origin does not mis-align after shots for me (on burn 100 racquet)...

    Pro's Pro strings

Hi any recommendations for a multi with decent spin, durability and that does not get moved out of position after hitting the ball? FWIW I like Technifibre Multifeel though the crosses do loose tension quickly.

    String Power Levels

I've asked the same question to the TWU Professor but no reply yet as far as I'm aware. Energy return (I think - can't confirm because I can't see how the experiments are conducted) is for the string only. You probably know that is important because all strings have a much higher energy return...

    For TWU Professor

Am I correct in thinking how powerful a string is (when playing) is a combination of % energy return (given in the database) and stiffness? Is there any way to calculate an overall ranking for % energy returned to the ball? This would be useful when selecting strings. Would it be possible to...

Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

Interesting I've got some ultra cable but not used it yet, have you used Rock n Power? I wonder which has more power. I'll look into the Head Velocity thanks - I assume that is where power is coming from. (assuming ultra cable is low powered) Any recommendations on the gauges? (I think ultra...

Recommended strings for high power and good spin?

I'm looking for a high powered string combo (can be hybrid) but still with good spin. I was looking through the TWU database but I think % energy return doesn't help since (I think) its a combination of low stiffness and high % energy return that *may* make a high powered combo. But does...

    Why Basalt in Wilson Frames...

OK according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basalt_fiber Basalt stiffness (elastic modulus) is much less than carbon fibres and much higher than kevlar. Kevlar is surprisingly elastic (in comparison to carbon at least). So swapping carbon for basalt will give a much softer frame.... (basalt...

    Why Basalt in Wilson Frames...

I was interested that Wikipedia lists basalt fibres in its specific strength (strength/weight) tables here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specific_strength While strength/weight is not as good as carbon or kevlar basalt is stronger than both (Tensile strength Mpa). So perhaps that works best...

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

Ok as a first step I'm thinking I restring the blade 104 with a soft slippy 19 gauge poly at a medium to low tension.. I'll have a look on the TWU string page to find something suitable

I don't want to risk it. My wrist hurts after a single session on the APD

The swingweight on the 98 is already too high but I liked it.

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

Looks great flexy thin beam but the 18 mains puts me off I think it will be similar power to my blade 104?

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

The warrior 107 really interests me. Don't think I could get a demo though. Yes the stiffness put me off a bit so good to know it plays soft.

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

I have lowered the zx tension in the 104 it's at 20 or 30 lb so can't really go lower to get more power...

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

Do they play better than the dr rally? I liked the Ai98 and AI100 so if they play like those but less sw and more power?

How loose can you string for power?

I thought stringing looser means the strings deform more and the ball less. Energy return for strings is 80 or 90% but a ball it 50% hence stringing low gives more power.

Need a Racquet with more power than Blade 98s or 104

That is not stiff! I tried an APD but is too stiff and hurts my wrist after playing. I'm thinking 64 stiffness or less. I think I actually want a 110sq in racquet - In fact I have one a Prince 110 ESP 14 x 17 - that works great but maybe too powerful for summer and I would like more...

Hybrids where the crosses don't notch?

Kevlar & zyex is one the zyex never notched at all. What about poly/ poly I suspect there is a rule where a stiffer poly will notch first and the less stiff one won't. So does using a stiffer poly in the mains prevent the crosses notching? If you can post your hybrid combo s and which...
