Seniors lounge (over 65 - 85) come on in.

Reading these posts is certainly inspiring. I'm still not giving up but most people im playing with are 10 or more years younger. Just past 80 but no one believes me. Mentioned to a player that I want to play with people my age but he warned me to first read the book "Late to the ball" very...

It seems most of these pros are using bent elbow and either western or extreme semi western grip on their forhand

    PRINCE EXO graphite 100

Picked up a Prince EXO graphite (old but in very good shape) and had it strung with Prince lightning at 54lbs. Outcome is very low power. If I strung it with something more powerful like Head mlt would it be more lively

    Service grip

Noticed a problem on my serve. I'm using continental grip. The heel position of my grip is loose. Even holding firm the bottom part of the grip is loose. This doesn't happen on any other stroke. I'm using a 4 1/2 inch grip . Now that i'm thinking of it I can feel it slide around as I serve. I...

Heel pad position on SW forehand grip

I can't believe as a tennis player your not evolving. Even the pros are constantly changing strokes and that includes grips

Why don't experts talk more about shortening a racquet as a possibility to get more control?

I'm certainly not a pro and please remember those are very good athletes so please stop telling me what they use like that is what we should use. In the past I cut my frame to close to 26 5/8 but stopped for no good reason only believing that it should be 27. About 3 months ago I cut an old...

    Grips

My normal grip is 3/8 but last 2 times out I tried wrapping bottom 2 inches at butt much larger, 5 1/4 because my grip always feels loose in hand. Strange I know but it felt very good and hand only had that size on palm pointer finger and thumb at smaller size. I felt more in control of racket...

    Respect for pusher please?

All you players who believe they are the next Roger are not thinking clearly. Normally, I hear he won but he's a pusher., I'm an old tennis Holic and even when I see a young man or woman who looks good eventually they must slow down get a job and go to work. Tennis is fun It may pay for college...

    14x17 string pattern

my question is my strokes are old school, very little loop, i've always gravitated toward denser pattern should i stay away from 14x17 pattern ?

    Heavy

We talk so much about heavy vs light rackets and small vs large grips what really is light or heavy rackets and small vs large grips Is 11 oz the middle and 4 3/8 the middle grip??

Kirgyos on Tsitsipas: everybody loves me, I've got many friends; nobody likes him, he's got some serious issues!

What I thought was even more frustrating was mcenroe making remarks about either players actions. I know i'm not the only one who remembers his actions on the court. Infact he's probably responsible for any rules that exist now. He made both these guys look very well behaved

    Quick Backhand Tip

Now this I agree with. 90% of the players on the site are trying to hit like the pro's. Aint gonna happen. You don't have the time, money, or athleticism. Find what works for you and grow with it.

Can you throw over the fence from the baseline? (without taking a running start)

well i hate to lose so i've started trying to increase my throwing distance. Thank God i'm fast because my distance throwing is horrible. Again bunch of us finishing up playing and I threw out the challenge. Actually only one guy could do it (granted we're old) and he's a way former high school...

    2HBH left hand

Even after all these years i'm questioning type grip on my 2HBH. I've always used a pistol grip with both hands spreading fingers and index finger but am trying to use a hammer grip with my left hand. It has been covered here but what is the current thinking. I'm talking about pistol or hammer...

How to play tennis when you are old

Well i'll be 77 tomorrow but not giving up. Actually in our early bird group not many want to play doubles. Thanks to God i've been lucky, still flexible granted I certainly don't move like a 50 year (ha ha) old but there are still ways to win. Let your opponent run. Most that i'm playing are in...

    Volley grip

Today using the ball machine working on volley I started with normal continental grip -normal ugly- then experimented with bringing grip over to just bevel 2 almost 1 and was amazed. felt uncomfortable on forehand volley but results were much better--sooo how far over within bevel 2 do you grip??

    slice serve

does the board think of the advice in this vid. Hope it came out ok-not good at this- seems to be advocating lower toss - strike in upper right corner before peak with frame slanted in- meeting with inside edge of face.

    Yonex has soft frame paint

In general, I find many different frames have very fragile paint. Many have base coats and then add there almost decorative top coat which scraps off so easily. If they would add a clear top coat this could be minimized. I have a few 10 year old frames and that hasn't happened

Yandell mentioned in Inside Tennis Nov/Dec issue

The argument about toss height still rages on today. IMHO to many rec players try to follow the big names that toss excessively high and end up chasing the ball all over never improving their serve. Those guys can do that because they practice daily under a coach's guidance. Rec players can...

Right hand (or dominant hand) domimant 2hbh

I really understand this problem. My goal was to use the 2HBH for topspin, seems like natural topspin and use 1HBH for slice which seems natural. In matches I find I use the slice heavily and feel comfortable with it but all my friends say your 2HBH is better. I've tried either being dominant...
